  1. Guess what?..... Its raining:laugh:
  2. Thanks for the update Janet. He is a little fighter alright! Lets pray he continues and will carry on to gain weight and flourish. Thoughts are still with you all x
  3. Thanks everyone, he does look reserved Dan but like Judy said was probably wondering what trouble to cause next! He is the mischevious one out of the 3!
  4. One of my neighbours has been diagnosed with swine flu! She is still at home and her partner is also at home but been told not to go out anywhere. I was only enjoying a cup of tea with her on Tuesday at my house. Anyway, they have asked if I can help with their shopping, they have ordered online but that wont be coming until Saturday. You dont expect this to come so close to home do you, I hope she gets well soon and will have to do all I can to help within reason, she is very poorly! What else are neighbours for?
  5. Thanks Sheila. He has improved a lot lately, I dont think he will ever regain his flying skills from before the accident but its a start. You dont realise what an impact it had on him, my non bird friends used to think I was mad the things I did for him! He is my life long companion and deserves the love and respect I show to the rest of my family:)
  6. That is just the sweetest thing! Tigerlily talks in such a lovely voice! My three have got really deep LOUD Yorkshire accents lol! Why couldnt they talk all sweet like Tigerlily? Thanks for sharing such a great video and good luck with Youve been framed.
  7. http://www.24parrot.com/Quick-Lock-Crock-Parrot-Feeding-Cup--2-Sizes-P4311a/ This is the one I use for one of my greys who always used to throw his dishes everywhere, I have got to say though he has just learnt how to unscrew it sometimes so I suppose its not 100% bird proof. Thanks for a great update:)
  8. Well, its not raining yet but very cool and cloudy! Why couldnt I have been born somewhere nice and warm!
  9. Well, its been 17 months since Charlie lost his flights because of an Earthquake we had in the UK, believe me you wouldnt believe what a tough time my Charlie had and the difficult times we went through together. Over night my Charlie lost the ability to balance, fly lost his confidence and also lost trust in me! We had to adapt everything! My husband Dave was great! He made perspex sheets which fitted on to Charlies cage to stop him from going to high, one fall and that chest could have been split open! We went through months where he wouldnt let me handle him and didnt want to come out of his cage, I honestley thought the bond we had was gone! The tears I cried over Charlie are too many to count! Every time a new flight came through he would catch it in his cage or have a crash landing and it would be lost! We have had burst blood feathers and plenty of scrapes! Well, after lots of patience, love and understanding my baby took his first flight the other week, its the first time in many months he has flown and landed properly! His confidence and trust came back months ago, I have had to carry him about since the accident. He is the most adorable bird I have ever met, he is first to wake up in the morning, last to go to sleep at night he is my number one and I love him so much! Never give up when something changes in life, you just have to work that little bit harder to try and get it back. Its been a long ride but me and my baby are back on track:) Charlie and his new flights! Lets hope they stay:)
  10. Congratulations on the great check up!

  18. I hope Baxter had a great day Erika, love and kisses from all of us xxxxx:kiss:
  19. Hi Julia and welcome:) What a beautiful baby you have there he/she is so cute! I cant believe the breeder clipped the wings without asking! Has the baby fledged? Its such a shame, a baby has so much to learn and I feel flight is one of the best skills they can have. Its so important to build up those muscles. Anyway, I bet you cant wait to bring your baby home and add to your flock. Congratulations and enjoy the forum:)
  20. Sheila, I am so pleased that Cracker is ok! Cats are a big problem in our garden as well! My two dont bother the birds but just about every house on my street owns a cat and they are always in the garden! This is one of the problems I have with taking the birds outside. I hope you find a solution to this as I know how much Charlie and Cracker love to spend their time outside. Let us know what you decide and I will get my thinking cap on for you:)
  21. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73094-socializing-your-baby-grey.html Above is another great thread about socializing your new baby from an early age, hope it helps:)
  22. Hiya and welcome to the forum. Here is a thread from the nursery about bringing home your new baby. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/limitstart/20/the-nursery/72855-bringing-home-your-baby-grey.html Your baby needs lots of reassurance from you and I do agree that your baby should not be left in a cage for two weeks. Each time I have brought one of mine home I have spent lots of time talking to them and have let them out of the cage for small periods of time until they get used to their suroundings. Do you have a play stand next to the cage? Or maybe a play area on top? Go at your babies on pace but try and socialise your baby as much as you can. I will look through the other threads and see if there are any more which may be useful for you. Hope you enjoy the forum and I cant wait to see some pictures of your new baby:)
  23. Get well soon Pat, I hope they find out whats wrong and its nothing too serious:)
