Do you bring Dayo in a backpack or in a harness? I would be afraid to bring my guys camping in case they got freaked out by the new sights and sounds. Sounds like my kind of weekend though... I am beginning to turn a slight shade of green.

Hi Kinga, I am so disappointed for you. But you want one so badly I am sure some day you will get one. I waited a long long time before the time was right in my life for a grey. I still can't predict what will happen over the next 30 years or so, but I knew for the foreseeable future, things were as settled as they would ever be. One day that day will come for you too. And believe me he or she will be worth the wait

We are a very exciting bunch aren't we? Is no one going anywhere exciting? At least I'm not jealous. Judy Disney World sounds brilliant, even it if is 6 months away. I have been to Disneyland Paris, I'm not sure if it is anything like it, but we did have a great time. Tracy I have been to Ireland... thats not exciting:laugh: Just lots of sheep and cows and very bad roads As for the rest of us... looks like we shall just have to enjoy each others company:P

Yes thats exactly how I pronounce it. Don't worry I have been called many things in my day, and I generally answer to all of them. Have lived in France and in America for a while you can imagine the various pronunciations I get thrown at me:unsure: Shivawn!

I know exactly what you are going through. I also have a tiel who didnt play, and just sat in the cage eating, and squealing. I tried everything I could think of, or was suggested to me. Eventually after 2 years of trying all sorts of everything, even trying her in a cage with budgies (who ganged up on her and pecked at her) I gave in and got her a mate. She changed almost over night. She still wasnt really interested in her toys, but she preened Jim and he preened her and she just seemed so much happier. Recently my husband and I built an aviary and our tiels are so happy. She still squeals but not continuously and she is answered by Jim so its much cuter to listen to. She now flies around the aviary, and swings and climbs to her little hearts content. I'm not suggesting you get another tiel to keep her company, but that is the thing that worked for me;)

The maintenance guy only came yesterday, which was obviously a new experience for Jaco, to see somebody new in HIS place. It'll probably just take him a while to calm down again. I would just treat him perfectly normally, as if yesterday never happened, and I am sure he will come back to his usual self. He is still fine with you isnt he?

Every grey is different really. I have one grey who will just about tolerate a head rub, if he is in the mood and only for as long as HE wants. Then I have another who will literally twist herself into knots to get rubbed. As you get to know Bobo you will recognise when he likes what you are doing, and when he'd rather you didnt! It wasnt really a case of teaching her to accept cuddles, but just experimenting and apologising when she obviously didnt like what I was doing. Its also a question of trust, nowadays, Liath trusts me to the point that she knows whatever I am doing will be nice 99.99% of the time, so she lets me try before she decides whether or not she likes it. But that was a LONG time coming. Maybe next year Oisin will let me cuddle him the same way (But I'm not going to hold my breath )

That is lovely Steve. A very nice idea to remember George. I know a new grey will never be George, but it would be nice to have a baby and new companion.
