Tari this is the first time I have voted actually and I think it's because I never really knew about the contest's because I never went to the other sections of the forum. Is there any way to post that others need to check out other sections of the forum as well and the contests that go on? I have been on here since Sept. 07' and honestly never really ventured around. Maybe if we could put something on the other main page or the grey forum post itself where most of the members seem to be it would help. I would have joined this one and submitted some pictures of my own, but I was too late and even though I am on here every day, I did not know to submit photo's and when I did it was too late. Just an idea, would hate to see it go away now that I know it's here and have been trying to check more often.

Can anyone tell me if I can still use this? I bought Aloe Gel instead of the juice not knowing I was suppose to buy the juice lol. So being that it says made with 100% aloe, but seems to have other things in it, is it still ok to use on the birds? I mainly bought it for our quaker cause ever since we brought SweetHeart home and put her (Quaker Molly) in a new cage she has started picking her neck a little. I spray her down every day now or let her bath in a dish but wanted to just help her in any way that I could without doing more harm to her. We did put it on her twice already until I noticed it was suppose to be the juice. I hope I didn't do any harm!! Can I use this or should I just get rid of it and try to find the juice? Here is a pic of her just the other day, I tried to catch it in time, I just hope she quits cause I read they are kind of self mutilators once they start, so hoping she won't be like that!

Do Cockatiels need to bath as often as big parrots? Do they need it at all? This little baby of my daughters has never been misted or bathed. It's 5 months old. Since we have had it (about 2 weeks) we have bathed it twice, but he doesn't seem to preen afterwards he just sits there, so I told her to go ahead and put him back in his cage and she has a electric heater in her room, I told her to go ahead and place in front of his cage a few feet away and kind of keep him warm a bit. But should he bathe often or not? And why isn't he preening? Thanks!!

I could not hear the sound on that page but I know from doing my own research I have heard the one on cockatoo's. By the way our little guy will be 1 month old tomorrow! Can't wait till he comes home! But very good link Tari! I think it sooo important for people to research about their parrot before getting one! A few years ago I always wanted one and if I would have just bought it, I would have never known what I was getting myself into. And honestly even after owning one for 9 years than getting a larger one I still had a ton of questions. And they are work! It's not just bringing your baby home and cuddling for all of us. I have had SweetHeart for almost 4 months now and there have been more downs than up. But she is only 9 months old and I know with work she can live up to her name. But it's how much time and effort do you really want to put into it? I have read soooo many people on here about how they go and get their baby and even get re-homed birds and they are great! But like my little one, that's not always the case. So please be willing to put that time into one of these little guys/gals and than hope that you don't have to do too much to gain it's trust. It's an emotional roller coaster for some, so just be willing to put up with the worst before you expect the best!

Ok our count is now 22 CAG's 9 TAG's Can't believe the difference!! Hubby and I have thought about within a year or two of breeding them, I wonder if we should go for TAG's or CAG's? Huh! Seems like the TAG's aren't as popular but at the same time from what I have read they are harder to get? Well just thought I would update the count!

AHHH too bad, he didn't like our family as much?? Just jokin, I have joined another forum as well, only because we are getting a cockatoo and to be honest I love this forum! I only wish there were some more cockatoo owners on it! But the people on the other forum just aren't you guys!!
