  1. That's awesome! Thank you for sharing!
  2. My father in law passed away last night, suddenly. So I probably won't be around for a while. I hope you all have a great New Year. I'll be back as soon as I'm able. Take care!
  3. I love the little babies! Karma for you.
  4. I think we should all go to Hawaii and see Makena!
  5. Klaus' latest is "falling." He falls off his lowest perch with a "klunk" then does some pitiful flapping 'til someone comes running. He did it earlier today when I was cleaning the bathroom (he's safely in his cage when that's going on...don't want him near cleaning solutions) and tricked my husband into letting him out.
  6. Ok, I have practically no knowledge on internet security, but I do have the common sense not to put anything out there that I don't want the whole world to have access to. I think Bird Mom over-reacted.
  7. Hi, and welcome! Your story sounds a little similar to mine in that our bird wasn't supposed to be mine when we got him. I agreed to tolerate a bird, but stressed that I would not be taking care of him. Well, our little guy (Klaus) chose me as his favorite and we've been practically inseparable ever since. I'll say one thing about greys, they sure know how to train humans!
  8. Hi, and welcome! We're glad you're here...
  9. Hi, and welcome! We look forward to hearing more from you...
  10. I think I might vote for Dan McQ. And I'm ok discussing politics or religion - I won't get mad because I'm a big believer in the "agree to disagree" philosophy.
  11. I knew you were kidding, of course!:cheer:
  12. Hi, and welcome! We look forward to hearing more from you...
  13. Hi, and welcome! We're glad you're here!
  14. Laurie, watch out for that brick LOL Hey, now! Lets not go crazy with the bricks! (ducking)
  15. Oh, I don't know who I'm voting for yet, but hey Hilary: More power to ya, girl!
  16. Hey, Mike! Don't apologize for questions...we're a very patient group! Minimal salt is ok, I think. I think you are doing the right thing by looking for things with as little salt as possible, and allowing only small amounts of your own salty snacks. I have not seen anything salt-free as far as crackers in the grocery store, but I have seen them in the pet store. I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year as well!
  17. Yes, I did. I know I need to figure out how to size the picture correctly. Just didn't have enough time to play with it. Meanwhile, we've come to the conclusion that the child's digital camera I bought my 10-yr old for Christmas, um, sucks. We tried to take more pictures so I could play more, and it loses them, blurs them, or says "too dark." After 20 minutes or so of that frustration we gave up, and shopped on line for a better camera. I'm going to go back to the thread where everyone talks about what kind of camera they have so I can make a better choice this time! Thanks for your patience, guys!
  18. That's awesome! I don't even mind Hilary depicted as a nut cracker. I hope she does get in there and crack some nuts! LOL
  19. Great news, Tracy! You are to be commended!
  20. Aw, what a cute little guy! :cheer:
  21. Hi, Chris - welcome! We're glad you're here. Cheers!
  22. Thanks for that post. I don't like to see people leave because they're having a problem with someone else on the forum. I appreciate you reaching out and offering an alternative. I do see us as a family, and as we all know, there isn't a family out there that lives in perfect harmony 100% of the time. In fact, conflict can be healthy! So I hope if anyone else is thinking of leaving that they would follow Penny's lead and try to work things out with official help, or take Dan's advise and ignore the person who's bothering you. You'd practically have to hit me with a brick to get me outta here!
  23. You crack me up! I like your thinking...
  24. I must say it's rather easy for me to do this every day because it's less than 5 min from work and super easy to fit into my lunch hour. I don't miss going to a restaurant and eating at lunch time at all. I pack my lunch and eat it in bits & pieces throughout the day. But whether it's easy or hard to do, I'm just glad I'm doing it!
  25. That is a great resolution. As kids, our worlds revolve around our friends, then things slowly die off as real world adult problems start taking over. You've inspired me to be better at keeping in touch! That said, I've never been one to make New Year's resolutions. But I guess I have one this year because I joined a gym, and the resolution will be to keep it up!
