  1. Yes ditto Dan, it angers me that every parrot/bird site you go on, 9 out of 10 times will see that idiot "Chet " staring back at you  It takes many years to gain the knowledge they claim they have !
  2. Do you have a holland & Barret health shop there ? They sell it ... http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/categories.asp?cid=77
  3. Kim & Mary are resident cleaning advisers Thanks ladies
  4. Your not being silly at all,i spoke to a few breeders before i found the right one for me,i liked everything about her methods,etc..& she always had time to answer questions & update me on my 2 babies progress.I would say go with your gut feeling, this lady appears to know her stuff, you will be able to pick / bond with your baby, she will answer your concerns as you have said. The only thing i would say if you are not experienced with hand-feeding then please do not take your baby at 7 weeks, let the breeder wean the baby.Ask this breeder how she socializes her babies ? will she be able to start the step up process for you ? breeder two would not be an option for me, i say go with that gut feeling We have many topics here in the nursery which will stand you in good stead with your baby, please keep us posted on your decsion.
  5. Thanks for that Dan, im sure that will apply to some of our members
  6. A clever distraction, Thanks for the picture .
  7. It does seem strange he would start to pluck after 19 years,i would suggest a vet visit as the other's have advised to rule out any medical reason first .
  8. Hi Di, As Dan says really let the grey kind of pick you, it;s hard to describe but you will know instantly which one is right for you.If there is only one boy i guess it's him or waiting for the next babies to come in ? As for health as Dan says plus check the vent area, no stuck poop on it Bright eyed, clear ceres/nostrils & not scared of you, backing off into the corner etc.. see if one follows you & is intrested, good luck.
  9. If you can see pins & given Alfie's age it almost sounds a molt, the larger feathers may have become loose with the new ones pushing through & Alfies pulling them.check the end of the feather shafts to see if there chewed or in tact.
  10. Ok Dan that's a fair deal im happy to comply with

  16. I wouldn't advise putting something over your greys head if he is not accustomed to it,sounds like it would freak most greys out.let the vet do it,then buy some cement & sandy perches which will keep the nails filed down.
  17. How old is Alfie ? Has been through a molt ?
