1. welcome & congrats on your new baby, look forward to hearing more from you
2. I agree with Dave also, pet greys should stay as pets , breeding greys need totaly different circumsatances. My 4 greys all live in their birdroom,Alfie & Freddie my boys constantly preen eachother. At times they all need their individual space. If being housed together is causing upset id house them seperate.
3. Dan your a genius  i do mist all the feathers far easier to sweep up than have them blowing all over the place
4. Sorry to hear your having grief with the insurance company Steve, im afraid if a pet has an on going illness some companies will not continue to pay out unless you took out their critical illness policy
5. Well it can take up to a year or more for the feathers to grow back, they may come back when your greys has it's first molt. The videos were cool, thanks.i dont see to much of a balance issue, your grey looks perfectly normal, happy, obviously you have concerns & im sure the vet will put your mind at ease, but from what i see i think your grey will be fine
6. i meant to say i wouldnt sorry Lucy ! Yeah im so pleased he ate something new, perhaps he may be the exception & he is going to munch on everything new you offer him
7. look forward to that video then
8. Well lets hope Elmo doesnt molt out that pretty colouring, fingers crossed
9. i think if it has worsened as you say, you are doing the right thing in taking your baby to the vet, well done you for being such a concerned owner. My fingers are crossed for a clean bill of health, lets hope the vet has some ideas please keep us informed as to the outcome. The perch you have tend to be a little slippery, roughen it up a little with some sandpaper

Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2008/03/18 14:39
10. I agree Dan, it does seem to be this time of year all our greys seem to be molting at the same time, i just have more feathers to clean up
11. {Feel-good-0002006E} A grey that sings like a canary
12. Hi BarbPA & Welcome to the forum.Keena is lovely look forward to hearing more from you.
13. Knight i think you have asked this question before ?
14. own a macaw ! but im working on that one What is your happiest memory ?
15. kimmie if you buy the aviator harness it comes with a great DVD to watch & it's pretty straight forward to put on
16. If he has had a bad wing clip this may be the cause of his balance problem, keep an eye on him if he is falling excessively i would suggest a vet visit to rule out any medical problems.what perches do you have for him to grip ? wooden dowel ones are no good for his feet, you need some cement perches, sandy perches etc that he will be able to get a good grip on.
17. You would certainly see an increase in he loss of the little white downy feathers.Tail feathers certainly drop out during the molt, they normally start with the down feathers comimg out, followed by the smaller head feathers and nape feathers. The the wing and tail feathers are usually last.New pins will start to form which you will be able to see,They push the old feathers out.sounds very much as if he is molting. If you type molt/molting in the search box at the top of the page you will be able to read over previous threads.
18. Personally i would leave my greys in my car, i would prepare something to eat to take with me & stop on my journey, but thats me do you have a pet carrier for him ? if you dont want water spilling i usually put a little fresh fruit in the carrier to quench their thirst .
19. Im afraid i dont have much knowledge on breeding greys,if they have breed before & are a proven pair i dont see any reason to think they wont mate again. I do know that they like to be left alone & only if conditions are right will they breeed.Hopefully are members can help answer your question better.

Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2008/03/18 02:25
