1. Is it pronounced yah-go or like the bird from Aladdin? =P
2. Labeled some. ^^

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/07/27 04:13
3. I have a CAG, I don't know why, I think my dad wanted me to get a CAG because... they have a brighter tail?  ...Anyway, looking back on it, I wish I had gotten a Timneh, just because they're less common... but oh well. =P

Monique wrote: Monique, I was reading a free booklet by Harrison's on bird health I picked up at a sidewalk sale today and the booklet mentioned zinc inside paper towel rolls... Has anyone else heard this? Also, if your bird likes to steal pencils and pens from you, I suggest getting wooden tinker toys. Get him interested in it by pretending it's a pencil he can't have. My bird has a blast destroying them, and I have fun putting together different shapes for him to take apart. =P

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/07/27 02:17
5. Tari wrote: Fun fact: Pirate's eye patches were actually used so they could go from the sunny deck down into the cabin for more supplies during a battle and be able to see inside. They kept one eye adjusted to the dark. =P I guess it does depend on the bird, if Jacques had never bitten I'd probably allow him on my shoulder all the time, but he's not so calm.
6. I once stumbled upon a site with a food pyramid for parrots, went into great detail with everything, but I can't find it anymore! I'll continue to search and let you know if I find it... And make sure celery is cut into small pieces! :cheer:
7. I am nearby so travel isn't a problem for me, I just can't make it january-march. =P Also, the more... official we can make this look, the better a chance I have of my parents letting me go. They're weirded out about meeting people from the internet... well, as am I:S , but this will have to be an exception.
8. I warn people who go near Jacques cage, I find that just saying "...He bites." is enough for most people to want to keep their distance. I don't think he's bitten anyone yet, but I'm sure there'll be someone someday who'll decide to stick their finger in the cage... I hope they didn't need that finger. Most guests that I've seen interact with the bird stand in front of the cage and mimic his "stay away!" head bobs, not realizing how odd they look.

brown poo!

I used cheese as a treat for Jacques's first clicker training session, and his poo was brown the next day. Lidia is probably right, probably just the food. It freaked me out too when I saw it, so I looked it up online and found someone talking about it in a forum, saying that cheese had turned their AG's poo brown, so I figured that must be it. It went back to normal quickly. =]
10. I don't know about the attitude part, but I do know it's better safe than eyeless... Even if your bird is quite gentile, you never know when something might anger her or even spook her into accidentally nailing you. I'll admit I do allow my CAG on my shoulder every once in a while, but only when I have a lot of things to carry, and he is one of them. =P
11. Very cute! My CAG loathes getting wet. Is that a sort of leash on his foot band? I've never seen that before.
12. Snow, I know how that feels... my CAG Jacques is bonded to my mother. He always tries to get to her and cuddle her, and I have to be very careful about not getting bitten as well. Jacques will also attack me if I go for anything in his cage while I'm in there. I've found that if I leave Jacques on a perch in the room, give him a treat, and go off on the computer or something, eventually he'll get bored of his toys and ask me for a head scratch. I'm still not his favorite, but it helps.
13. Splint, Max's head feathers are so white, he's gorgeous!
14. I have a male CAG, brought him home when he was fully weaned and now he's about 3 2/3, when he first got home he wasn't bonded with anyone in particular, but within a few months he had bonded to my mom, and still is.
15. Looks like Melissa and I will be the designated drivers... And I don't think either of us can drive...
16. Don't know much about comics, sorry. What is this "application" you speak of? I have a DS as well. :silly:

18. Happy songs? What about "Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games" by Of Montreal? Well... maybe not. It IS happy though. =P
19. I have family in or near Roanoke... I've seen the beautiful mountains there as well, they are quite a sight. All of my relatives live in Virginia and North Carolina... I like it down there, very quiet.
20. I vote separate thread for photos. (My vote as far as the song goes is still with Give a Little Bit) =]
21. Heather, I had been wondering the same thing but never asked. hehe Pryde, I like that song too. It's originally by the white stripes isn't it? --I'm with you Josh (Everyone that I'm related to, not including my parents and sisters, live in North Carolina or Virginia. My dad was raised in NC.) We get the same thing all the time. :silly:

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/07/24 03:45
22. Sounds like lots of fun but I don't think my 'rents would go for the idea.
23. I live in a tiny little suburban town in Bergen county, New Jersey. It's so small that everyone knows everyone else, and it only takes a few hours for gossip to spread around. There's nothing to do and not much to see, unless you're up for a diner.
24. I agree with HeatherStrella on "Give a Little Bit"
25. When his harness is on he constantly tries to grab it and bite at it, he'll be fine if he's on my hand but if I try to put him on a perch, the lead part freaks him out and he starts screaming a bit. It was worth a shot but I just think he's MUCH happier in his travel cage. I wish I had known the harness existed when we first got him so I could have gotten him used to it as a baby. Oh well.
