1. I discovered this game after I'd already created the True/False game thread, but I thought this one was too funny not to start. Someone posts something they want, say, toys for their AG that don't cost a fortune. The next poster corrupts their dream by saying, "You got them, but they'd already been used by another bird." And then posts a dream of their own! Be creative! =D ...I want a never-ending cup of coffee.
2. Yeah, Talon! Big cats are more huggable. Our old maine coon used to sleep right next to me most nights. They're cuddly.
3. My parents have decided to name him Macallan, like the scotch. Not a bad name, I don't really care what his name is, as long as I can play with him. =P I'm just not sure what I can call him for short...
4. Did you chase after him when he flew to the floor? He could have gotten spooked, flew away, seen you chasing after him and become even more frightened. I've heard that's enough to spook a grey into becoming phobic. I hope he'll realize that you didn't mean any harm.
5. Welll, I don't necessarily like tarantulas, but they don't scare me. Daddy long legs do creep me out, but not as much as spiders do. Daddy long legs like to hang out in our downstairs bathroom for some reason, of course, where I take my showers, so I've gotten a little more used to them.
6. Still about 11 weeks I think... at least that's what I've been told. =[
7. Yes Judy, I think the silver ones are the prettiest. We still haven't decided on a name, we've sort of agreed that none of the 3 original names quite fit. Right now we're toying with the idea of naming him Maestro or Hudson (we always boat on the hudson river.) I wanted to name him Gaston, River, Molaisse ("muh-law-sha") or Hippo but no one else agreed with those. =P

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/08/02 19:36
8. I can definitely understand fearing bugs and not reptiles. I think reptiles are extremely cool, I just wouldn't want to have one that ate crickets... As for tarantulas, they don't scare be because they're so big, but all other spiders sure do... O_O I love the striped tail on Betty!
9. Dan, yes, we've played together on occasions, for a friend's wedding, for a few funerals. Mostly my mom is focused on the string quartet she has decided to make out of my sisters and I and herself, it's working out nicely except for the fact that our violist actually plays flute, not viola. She's learning. =P My dream of moving to australia is much more realistic than my #1 plan which is to be a pirate and travel around the world. Well, I still plan on doing that... but moving to australia is just something to do in the mean time. =] As long as I am NOT stuck in a suburb of america, I think I'll be fine. And yes, many fun times on the water, I could never live landlocked ^^

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/08/02 00:06
10. Talon, our old cat was about 14 pounds, he was a silver though and silvers are a bit small for the breed. the red one should end up about 18-20 pounds. Here are some random pictures of how big they can get: Thanks FairY, yes, I feel very lucky. Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/08/01 20:37

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/08/01 20:37
11. Well, if Beccy thinks she hasn't lived enough yet to have many interesting things to say... I definitely haven't. I've lived in bergen county, new jersey all my life, moved once to a town that was only a few miles away from the old one. I have two older sisters, 5 and 7 years older to be exact (21 and 23). My mom is a music teacher and my dad is a computer programmer type sort of thing at a water reservoir. We're a very musical family, and have been called "the partridge family" on more than one occasion. my oldest sister and I are very into theatre, in the school musicals and such, and the middle sister is an artist. I went to Jamaica when I was six, but other than that I haven't really left the east coast of the USA. My relatives all live in virginia or north carolina, so i visit the south quite often. We own a 260 searay sundancer, and boating consumes out weekends in the summer. We've been boating for most of my life. We're cat people as well, had a silver maine coon named Mozart from the time I was 2 until I was about 15. We're getting a red maine coon within the next few months. I kept hermit crabs for many years when I was younger. =P In the future I'd like to move to australia and work with animals in some way.
12. Really? Our old maine coon was very relaxed, we had him since I was two, and my sisters were seven and nine. I guess we were lucky though to have one that was so laid-back.
13. I'd like to know exactly what she'd call her job, and how to go about getting a job like that...
14. Yup, he'll stay that color. I'd never seen a red one until recently either, I only knew of the silver and brown ones. I think that red is just uncommon. Maine coons make lovely cats, you should get one! Yes, he and Jacques will have to look at each other through Jacques's cage bars. hehe. Jacques used to meow when our old cat walked past his cage. Our old cat didn't seem to have any interest in the bird, but a kitten may be more curious... I'll be watching.
15. Here is our new kitten! Of course, he's still with the breeder, but he's ours. Here he is about 4 days old. Since our last cat was named after a composer, Mozart, we decided to keep the trend and are deciding between naming him Wagner, Puccini, and Schubert. Personally, my vote is for Puccini. =] I can't wait to go visit him, and of course, bring him home! Oh, he's a Mainecoon, and his father is VERY big, so he should be pretty big himself. He'll be bigger than some of the dogs I know.

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/07/30 19:13
16. Aww, sounds like he's just as excited to be home for good as you are.
17. It's odd for Jacques though. Usually he is begging her to be cuddled. I don't think he'll ever not like her, I just hope that he's becoming more accepting of me. ^^
18. Lately I've noticed that Jacques isn't really letting my mom scratch his head anymore. He still hasn't bitten her, (I'm not hoping that he will,) but I think he finally may have decided that she might not be his absolute favorite, and that maybe he likes me too.
19. I'm a pirate. =] And I think I already explained eye patches in another thread- pirates covered one eye in battle so when they went down into the dark cabin for more supplies, they could remove the eye patch and the eye that was already adjusted to the dark could see. Next time we take Jacques on our boat, I'll remember my camera...
20. I was always asking my parents for different pets when I was younger, got shot down by my dad every time (except for hermit crabs and fish) and one day when he happened to be in a good mood, we were all talking about parrots in general and he said something about the fact that I would be able to have a parrot since I'm young enough to be with it for a very long time. I don't know if he was serious about it at that moment but now he was stuck. I researched a ton of different kinds of parrots and my favorites were b/g macaws, sulfur-crested cockatoos, hawk-headed (I think that's what they're called) parrots and the greys. My dad sort of decided for me, saying he wanted to get the smartest one. I'm sure he regrets that decision now seeing as Jacques doesn't really tolerate my dad at all. The thing about Jacques is he wasn't our first choice, I'd picked one that seemed to like me, he let me cuddle him against my chest and he was really sweet, my mom didn't want to put the deposit down on him because she wanted my dad to meet him first, so they said they'd hold him until 6 pm the next day. My dad never went, and they sold him to a couple that arrived right after 6 and was ready to purchase him right then and there. I think Jacques was the only, or one of maybe two left that weren't on hold already, so I chose him, not thinking that it was so strange that he screamed at me when I tried to take him out of his cage... This was all moot anyway seeing as Jacques doesn't like my dad either, the other one probably would have liked him more :pinch: and it was supposed to be my bird anyway. I always wonder if the other grey would have bonded to me more easily, and been less... er... high strung.
21. Dan, you're welcome to usurp the fluffed up timneh pic from my entry if you'd like, I don't know if it will fit in with Josh's hand, but it does look pretty angry. =P
22. Thanks guys. ^^ Have to give the credit to my best friend, she took the shot. =]
23. I have none but my parents have tattoos on their left ring fingers, they said their wedding rings were getting in the way, and my dad's gold band kept breaking... so they each have a small heart with a horizontal line (sort of making a B shape in the heart, for our last initial) and a little ~ on each side of the heart.
24. My grey usually bites when I try to get him out of his cage too. When he does, I put on a glove and he steps up, you could try this but many of the members here say their greys are afraid of gloves... (The abdomen shaking isn't necessarily a sign of nervousness or fear, it's just something they do. It can often mean they're quite content.)

Post edited by: Tricky, at: 2007/07/27 20:40
