1. Hi Cyard, You never know on the cuddling. Dayo is 6 months old now and still loves his cuddle time later in the evenings when it's almost night-night time :-) It could change at anytime, but the precious moments of this cuddling time will never be forgotten ....
2. Ouch!!! Word of advice...no more earrings while your Grey is on your shoulder.
3. Hi Sandra, I'm so happy for You !! :-) It sounds like you are having one of those special times of your life. I look forward to hearing more about him.

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/10/22 01:24
4. Sorry to hear your Grey may have a health problem Stephanka. Is the breeder going to take care of and observe him for a while? I hope if you have to, you find the perfect Grey for You. :-)
5. Regarding allowing spare processor resources, it is unfortunately not something I can allow on my PC due to VPN connection to work and sensitivity. Here's just one of many good sites regarding UFO's with many articles and links etc. http://www.ufoevidence.org/welcome.asp I believe.... :-)
6. It is my understanding that Greys molt slowly over the entire year. Unlike some that Molt in a month or two.
7. Ok, it flew through your lips as you yawned and flew straight down your throat. So you wound up with the 1500 calories, but received no satisfaction from the delicious taste of that wonderful chocolate eclair. I wish I had a 1970 Cuda - special edition 426 Hemi in my Car collection.
8. Thats not a Beak, it's a can opener!!!
9. Nice photos Hitchhiker. Thanks for sharing them with us :-)
10. Nice Slide show of your baby blues Tari! :-)
11. It seems that Walmart carries it in many areas, but it did not in mine. I finally found it at a Health/Vitamin store called "The Vitamin Shoppe". It actually assists in the preening process as it moistens the pin feather sheaths and skin thus making it easier for them to remove the sheath. It seems most Aloe Juice is pretty much the same across the board. I did notice though that some brands have been distilled to a point that they do not need refrigeration after opening, which is the type I purchased in a gallon jug. MRSpock, the Aloe Guru could answer this with more experience than I with it though. :-)

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/10/21 15:07
12. Hi Beccy, I personally would not worry about Brian's Beak from the description you have given. As far as beak filing or grinding goes, I would never have that done. Their Beaks maintain themselves just fine without human intervention by worrying about "Cosmetics". Unless of course you wanted to get a Halloween "JackoLantern" saw-tooth grind to greet the little ones at the door with

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2007/10/21 14:44

Movie

Thanks for posting this Tari. It is a great video to watch, I have added it to my favorites :-)
14. Hi Zeta, The photos were a nice memorial to you Parrots. Thanks for sharing them. If I understood you post correctly, the Grey at your work said " I'll be right back"? If so how old is he? It sure does sound like he has "Chosen" you . :-) I hope this works out in your favor :-) You deserve it after your long road back to the Parrot World you basically cut your teeth on.!!
15. Congratulations Cyrad!! You'll have plenty of "First Times" to share with us each day :-)
16. The Great Escape - Paul Newman
17. Some of our favorite restaurants are, Mc Clintocks in Pismo, Hungry Hunters, The Vintage press in Visalia and Tahoe Joes is a fun place too. :-)
18. Good post CD. Thanks for defining the line a little better. :-)
19. Well, I does take a little longer for us to get Dayo soaked than our Conure, but not like 10 minutes of drenching :-) We have started exclusively "Misting" him with Aloe, rather than a water shower. This takes a little longer to get under the wings and body, but he is so much more supple in skin and feather texture it is unbelievable. Once soaked, it takes him a good hour to dry out
20. I don't see the indian ringnecks too often as it is a 75 mile drive south of us. :-( I have seen the "Parrots of Telegraph HIll" and watched them on our several trips to San Franciso. The documentary and live viewing of them is awesome. :-)
21. NO, what you are doing is great!! :-) By not letting the Poo set and become corrosive and attach itself strongly to where you would need to scrub the heck out of it with something like a brillo pad or something else as gritty or more, you are extending the Powder Coating life. The Cage sounds fine now that you clarified it more :-)

About Red Palm?

No, Coconut Oil does not contain the same nutrients or oils that Red Palm Oil does. The swansons link I provided will ship to Canada if you cannot find an online outlet there. :-)
23. Ive heard Apple Bitter works for some Dogs, not sure about Parrots, but hey, it's worth a try. :-) I had a Doberman that developed a cancerous tumor on his front leg and we kept it wrapped and applied Apple Bitter to the dressing to stop him from chewing on it and removing it. He would lick the Apple Bitter off, like Yum-Yum good stuff. So, I hope in your case it works. :-)

Ken Globus

Hi Talon, Yes, I have posted his work and methods along with the website link a few times here on the forum. http://www.thebirdwhisperer.com/ He and his website were what gave me the final information that finally worked in my being able to Tame Jake to where he would step up. Some dis-approve of his methods. But, when a bird has never been hand-fed and is extremely fearful of hands and humans in general, sometimes Ken's ways are the only way. God, I wish he was coming near me, I would love to see him in action in person!! I'm jealous  It would definitely be worth your time to go see him. :-)
25. Heather - Have you found anything as of yet that could be causing the behavioral change you described?
