  1. Beautiful still. It is a frame out of the video you can purchase from world parrot trust. You can see a sneak peak here and purchase if you wish. I got it a few years back and enjoy watching it. It is named "Where the Wild Greys Are". http://www.parrots.org/index.php/shoptosave/grey
  2. It is a good example and enjoyed watching her chomp on the block.
  3. "Arnold" better watch out. He has competition working out hard and may take over the next action movie.
  4. I am so glad this worked out well with the lay-over. Tuki is beautiful and I hope to see many more photos.
  5. Sounds GreYt! Thanks for keeping this updated. With your loving care, I have no doubt She will mend quickly.
  6. I always enjoy watching Biscotti's videos. I laughed when he pooped and said something like "OH! I went Poopi Ka". Thanks for sharing this.
  7. GreYt news! I would suggest taking a few days before getting the wings clipped. I know that is the first thought once you retrieve your bird. I know this from previous experience and am glad I did not clip both my birds wings. Believe me, you will be much more "In Tune" from now on when exiting doors and just one wing flap will have you closing the door before your bird ever reaches you.
  8. I would suggest purchasing the Avian Sun adjustable lamp stand for proper positioning over the cage. The optimum distance is critical for achieving maximum effectiveness. http://www.petsolutions.com/C/Bird-Lighting/I/Avian-Sun-Deluxe-Floor-Lamp.aspx
  9. Nice! I have a bag full of Dayo's primary, secondary and tail feathers that have been saved from the day we brought him home. A dream catcher seems to be one way to put some of them to use. Thanks for posting this.
  10. Yeppers, you just never know what an individual grey will not care about and what they will react to. Dayo is very leery of carpet area rug changes, blanket changes etc. that have different patterns for example. It takes him days of staring at that demon before he accepts that it is not going to jump up and swallow him. He is also leery of large plants or tree's (living) that we may bring home and place in a room. Oh, BIG reaction if a head floats by a window with no body attached to it. He does not realize I suppose that the rest of that human is below the point of view.
  11. Just don't name him Sue..... referring to the Johnny Cash song.
  12. Thats wonderful news! You have done a GreYt job in taking care of her.
  13. It is good to hear you and whisper are back home and settling in. Things sound like you and her are all ready starting the re-bonding process and both will be much happier as time passes and it just feels like a brief separation occurred in the decades you will spend together.
  14. I truly hope and pray it works out for you and your grey.
  15. Thats the problem when wanting to travel with your birds. Especially coming back into the US. They have a 30 day quarantine mandatory. You probably would be returning before your grey got out of quarantine. Plus, if it is a wild caught grey, they would never let it in to begin with. Too bad, because it would be wonderful to be able to take your much loved grey traveling with you.
  16. ASterling is spot on. It the eye hook must be sized according to the size and weight of what your going to hang. I have small eye hooks for bongs and large anchored eye hooks for a hanging play stand that weighs around 25 pounds.
  17. Radar is fun to watch and listen to. Thanks for sharing this.
  18. I use eye hooks like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/208-x-1-3-8-in-Zinc-Plated-Steel-Screw-Eye-2-Pieces-14221/202704400#.UcgqxJzhe5U for hanging boings or other items from the ceiling. It will of course leave a hole when you take it out. Since you have an artex ceiling, patching that hole should you remove it will be challenging to match the pattern.
  19. Congrats! Avah is beautiful. Thanks for sharing these homecoming photos.

    Moving

Ray gave good comments. I would suggest getting them used to their own carriers during the next two weeks, if they are not already used to them. Then as Ray said, talk to them, point out items you see as you go etc. Tell them during these two weeks about going to the "New House" in a happy and excited voice. Once you get to your new home, I woul densure you get the cages in first and place you birds in them so they have their cage which they know and feel safe in. Also, setup any T-Stands, Tree Stands etc. so when you let them out they have a favorite roosting place to go to and check things out.
  21. I hear the same as wingy, "Be Good" and then a lot of Peek-a-Boos and variations thereof. Very fun video and congrats!
  22. Wow, nice aviary and he is certainly enjoying it. I truly enjoyed viewing the photos and the video. He seems like a real sweetheart.
  23. Very demanding, as greys are. Enjoyed the breakfast calls. Nice view, what floor are you on? Thanks for sharing this.
  24. Very touching photos and story. Good on this Guy! http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/20/tech/social-media/the-guy-who-saved-the-bunnies/index.html?hpt=hp_c4
  25. Good to see you back Char! It's great your back on solid ground now with your health, finances and wonderfully united once again with Whisper. I pray all turns out well with Whisper's broken wing at the avian vet visit.
