  1. Too cute - You can just get the mental image of "My Eyes, My Eye, put some clothes on!"... enjoy.
  2. That was entertaining. Thanks for sharing this.
  3. Thanks for that video. I had to laugh at the end of the video when that lady said "Will You be Quiet?". The Quakers are probably thinking the same thing when the ball games are going there.
  4. Turns out well, but what the hell is society coming to? http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/03/nyregion/a-bird-in-someone-elses-hand-was-too-much-to-bear.html?_r=1&
  5. Right now, echo is getting all the water needed from the hand feeding. As you start cutting back on the feedings per day, he will start drinking water if he gets thirsty. Eights week is still young and requires hand feeding. If he is eating regular food as you described. It may only be a 3 or 4 more weeks before he eats mostly regular food and starts declining the hand feeds.
  6. Echo is beautiful. Thanks for sharing these photos.
  7. I'm with the others. Brutus will be fine.
  8. Love the photo. That is exactly what Dayo does in his box. The bottom gets completely shredded in to bits and pieces. Thanks for sharing this.
  9. Thanks for sharing this about your Nan. We always reflect back and feel the loss, but more importantly the joy and love they brought in to our lives. My Mother has had Dementia for over 12 years now. I had to place her in a nursing home 6 years ago after it became too dangerous for Her to continue living with us. She is still alive, but now barely remembers me and and sometimes I suspect she does not remember me at all on some days. Yet, she smiles and nods when I talk to her and loves for me to just sit and hold her hand. She does not speak much anymore and most the time I can tell she really does not know what I have said or asked. She is 84 and very frail. But, i always remember the good times and love she has brought.
  10. He will continue to change as he matures to adulthood. Adding more critters to the mix will of course change the dynamics of the flock as a whole. He sounds like he has a big personality, I love it!
  11. Some good words I stumbled upon that rang true with me. I hope anyone else that suffers a loss of a loved one whither human, feathered or furred, that they find peace and love within. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "Do not worry, I am not suffering. Do not blame yourself there was nothing that you could have done. I did what I came to do, and then I moved on. I had no need to experience anymore of this lifetime." "I will remain with you, as I have remained with you. The bond between us is strong. You know that I am here because you can feel my love and my presence. You have also allowed yourself to see me on occasions." "You want to believe, but you do not need to believe, only to accept." "There is no reason to be sad. You must remember the happiness and the joy. I am not gone from your life, but my role is different. There has been no loss, only change." "Do not be sad, there is sadness within your heart, and you have made that sadness the center of your existence. Remember the love past, feel the love now, and allow that love to be the center of your existence." "If love is at the center of your existence, you will draw love to yourself. While sadness remains at the centre of your existence, you will continue to draw sadness to yourself." "Remember the love, Feel the love, Do not feel loss, Because there is no loss, Only change."
  12. LOL, it is funny. I suspect your grey is using thinking that sound/word means come and pick me up. Most Greys learn early on that when the phone rings for example, we come from wherever we are to pick it up and answer it. The phone ring was one of the first sounds dayo learned and would use it just about every time we were out of the room his cage was in.
  13. Very cute. Sure trying to get your attention. I would be very careful though letting your grey at your lips like that. It is a really bad habit to get them used to and thinking your lips are fair game.
  14. LOL, Maaaaaaaaaa! Just had to get in one more. Congrats on Gilberts verbal interacting at a whole new level.
  15. Thats good news that all checks out good in the health department. Foraging toys and things to keep Pearl busy is a good thing for any grey. Hopefully you will pick up some good advice at the behavior training session.
  16. The new cage is freaking her out. As I am sure you know, they are very phobic about change and especially their cage ( Read Home) suddenly just changed. It is better to leave the old cage and let them get used to a new cage sitting next to the old or across the roon from it. Depending on how fearful she is, she may or may not eat on that cage.
  17. Cool! Thats a handy Neighbor to have. Dayo goes through cardboard boxes like mad as well. I need to find a friend or neighbor that works at a box company!
  18. Oh jesus! It seems every one is paranoid these days.... poor bird!
  19. My wife and I....... and that's when the fight started....... I don't know why? My wife and I were watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed. I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have Sex?' 'No,' she answered. I then said, 'Is that your final answer?' ... She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, 'Yes..' So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend." And that's when the fight started... ________________________________ I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first. "I'll have the rump steak, rare, please." He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?" "Nah, she can order for herself." And that's when the fight started..... _____________________________ My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table. I asked her, "Do you know him?" "Yes", she sighed, "He's my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since." "My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?" And then the fight started... ________________________________ When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, making beer.. Always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp. _____________________________ My wife sat down next to me as I was flipping channels. She asked, "What's on TV?" I said, "Dust." And then the fight started...
  20. Thats to be expected. The good news is you had 2 good days, now one step back. You did the right thing putting him back n the cage. It will not take him long to figure out if he stops or at least greatly lessen the biting attacks, he will have more time out of the cage. Thats a big positive reinforcer.
  21. The holding on with their beak and scratching is a natural behavior when foraging, arranging nest (tree whole bottom) etc. You will see baby and adult greys do this on a towel in the bottom for their cage, inside a cardboard box if you have one in the cage or outside the cage, on the carpet, on a wood floor etc.
