  1. Hello Nims, Your right, your Grey is scratching the floor as if she is digging in dirt etc,and it is natural for them to do so. :-)
  2. Nychsa - Bella is in love with your feet, not you. ;-) Just put your feet down or wear some socks so Bella knows your feet are taken already....... She will need to find another Foot somewhere. I can just imagine the child produced..... aww look at the Grey with one HUGE foot.....it "Hops" everywhere  B)
  3. Judy, Judy, Judy...... ;-) We just take Dayo along on our shoulder as we do things around the house. Just remember before you walk out the door to check your shoulder though. After having them their for a while, you forget they are tagging along and I can guarantee you they won't say anything either to stop the trip outside with you. ;-)
  4. Thanks for the update. I am sure it is just the first of many "Scares" you will encounter as time progresses. :-) It's just like having a small child again getting into everything........
  5. Congratulations Sallas!!! It great to have you here. :-)
  6. If he actually ate a little paper, it's fine. They normally don't, just as they don't actually swallow wood they tear up. They just love shredding things. :-)
  7. We cover the cages of our Grey and Conure. All birds naturally perch while sleeping and their Talon's lock in place and will not release unless the bird mentally commands them to. This way we don't see Birds falling out of trees everywhere at night as the doze off. :-) I have seen some conures that love those Happy Huts, but mine does not. My Grey, during the day, will sometimes walk into a 12 pack Pepsi carton and take a snooze, but at night, he always perches. Covering the Cage depends on if the owner wishes too and also if you bird prefers it. Some do and some don't. :-)
  8. I agree with zooman on the aggression being attributed primarily to jealousy and wanting you to himself. The regurgitating is him showing his love for you, as having his wings down is also. As for the harder bites, they start testing their limits and also want to perhaps let you know they do not want to step up for be scratched at that particular time. It normally does not draw blood, but is a lot of pressure to let you know they mean what they say. :-) On toys, play-stands etc. Some Greys love to play and some don't. Some will not find a $60 toy interesting, but love playing with a wadded up piece of paper or a 12 pack of Pepsi carton. It's just trial and error on their likes and dislikes. :-)
  9. Welcome Sallas!! What a pretty baby TAG you have there. Thanks for sharing that photo. :-) Looking forward to hearing more.

  14. Depends on if your aksing that question about the person holding your Grey or your Grey. The person holding "Him" is a Girl. I just answered what sex I think the Grey is. B)

  19. Mel - Thats is cute, but at times I am sure it puts you in an odd position with the calling Party. :-) Nychsa - We didn't come everytime time he "Rang", so he stopped "Ringing" us. Now he whistles for us in the some tones and number of times I do for the dogs to come. :-) But, thats not working for him either, so I would imagine that will stop soon. You asked "Maybe it's a female bird mind game " , maybe she's just adding the sound effects to let you know she's "With You" in your actions. :-) Or, the sound bugs her and she really wishes you would oil those to stop that sound. <br><br>Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2008/07/17 14:53
  20. Ideally, let the TAG pick you. Watch them and see which one keeps coming back to interact with you. If one or two are staying away and just staring at you, they are not for you. Once you are fairly certain that one or two continually keeping seeking you. Then start checking that all the toes are there, upper and lower beak are aligned with each other, vent is clean and surrounding feathers are clean, no sere (nose holes) blockages or discharge, eyes look alert and clear etc. Once you have decided, write down the alpha/numeric characters off the leg band to ensure that you and the breeder know exactly which TAG you have chosen. Good luck on your trip. I'll bet the excitement and anticipation is killing killing you. :-)<br><br>Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2008/07/17 14:43
