1. Separate sleeping cages are not needed. They feel very safe and secure in there main cage and view it as their home. As was suggested. The only exception would be if there was a lot of noise and activity late into the night where the cage is located. Then a separate sleeping cage would be recommended. Normally, late at night, all the whooping and hollering is coming from the bedroom. ;-)
2. Very sad story regarding such a terrible foster home. It makes you wonder what the hell that foster lady was thinking! It's great that you were able to get in and get that poor bird out. Great work!! :-)
3. Darwin is a beautiful baby. Thanks for sharing those adorable photos. :-) It's wonderful to be able to visit your baby while growing isn't it? You are very fortunate to have that ability. :-)
4. Hello Dabooth - The others have given good advice. First get the foot looked at by a vet. Get your grey to another cage. Is it possible your grey became entangled with a toy that has strings and chewed himself free? YOu would probably see blood on the strings. Please let us know how this went. :-)
5. Happy Hatch Day Keeko!!! What a beautiful adult you have become!!
6. Welcome wolfeagle!! What a nice introduction and further background you have provided. It sounds like Grady has found the best forever home he could have and I commend you for taking in a rescue. Looking forward to hearing more from you and seeing photos of your flock when you get a chance. :-)
7. Nice photo is Bobo. He seems to have a feather chewing problem in this photo. Thanks for sharing it. :-) I will give the Persian translator a try. :-)
8. Ok, I received a reply from Zupreem. It seems no changes have been made. I wrote a rather long letter to their customer service department regarding their responsibility to the customer and more importantly, the diet many Parrots may be used to eating. Needless to say, it is a well known fact that it is not easy to just switch a parrot to different foods. With that said, here is the direct reply from Zupreem: """Dear Dan, Thank you for contacting ZuPreem. I can assure you that we are definitely not discontinuing our FruitBlend diets. They are the #1 selling pellet in the US, and we are manufacturing these almost daily to fill the orders. Thank you for checking on this, but I promise we are still making it. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Have a great weekend! Sincerely, Jennifer McDaniel Sales & Marketing Account Executive 1-800-345-4767 ext. 2017"""
9. Nice photos Brittany. You definitely have a cuddle muffin there. Thanks for sharing these. :-)
10. Very nice!! It seems your Grey has taken to it very well also. There is certainly plenty of room in it and it is truly a nice piece of furniture. You a very talented at this obviously. Thanks for keeping this thread updated. :-)
11. Well, besides what the survey says. I like Valentines day and always acknowledge it to Kim and get something or do something different every year. :-) It's just fun and sometimes even MORE FUN depending on how the evening goes. ;-) To all my Forum Mistresses: I love you all bunches and hope you have a great Valentines day!! {Love-0002011D}
12. Congatulations on the new trick training and GREAT job!! Thanks for sharing this. :-)
13. she wrote: Sheila, that is an excellent point. Many Parrots are on the Fruity Blend and getting one to switch is sometimes very difficult. It does seem negligent on Zupreems part to not have sent out a notice well in advance. Perhaps if enough people emailed complaints to their customer service department regard this. They might at least next time give proper notice of a few months that it is going to stop production. To contact Zupreem: http://www.zupreem.com/company/contactus.shtml
14. My Grey loves reducing chicken bones down to fine dust in getting that succulent marrow out that they just love and is healthy for them as well. If they start to choke, just do the heimlich on them and their good to go. ;-)
15. Wow, that a nice start on a playstand Gary. Nothing like a natural tree. :-) Thanks for posting the photo. As others said, there are tons of photos in threads about playstands in the forum you can search for and browse.
16. Awwww, poor Zazu. I could never put her back when she is SOoooo begging to be held and stay with the family. :-) That is probably the reason I figure I could never have more than 2 birds or become an actual rescue center. I would want them all out and would have a crazy house. Thanks for sharing that video.
17. Welcome Brad!! It's nice having you here. You are certainly doing good research and asking all the right questions before you decide to bring a Grey home. The Calcium needs can be handled through a proper diet and exposure to direct sunlight, avian lighting and also pelleted diets that include vitamin D3. There is a ton of information in the food room and health room. One note on keeping your Grey around your Grandmother. If she has allergies or breathing problems, please know that Greys shed dander that does cause some sensitive people to have respiratory problems. Looking forward to hearing more from you. :-)
18. Welcome Sidney!! I do hope you are able to get Roxy. Looking forward to hearing that goes and seeing some photos when Roxy arrives. :-)
19. What a wonderful family of pets you have. It is noble to hear your highest desire for all animals is to prevent and cure diseases in all. I went to your website, but unfortunately can not read Arabic. :-) I even tried using Microsoft lives translator which was not successful. Thanks for posting the link though.
20. Welcome Darren and Sue!! It's GreYt having you here. Looking forward to hearing more and seeing some photos when you get a chance. :-)
21. Congratulations Dave!! Wilma is a beautiful CAG and looks right at home on your shoulder. Thanks for sharing the photos. :-)

Plasma TV

Hi Twogreys, I am not certain where you heard that information regarding Plasma screens, but neither Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) or plasma display monitors emit EMF, ELF fields of really any measurable significance. The highest offender is you standard "Tube" TV or monitor. Also, as a side note, many scientific studies have been performed on EMF and ELF and they do not actually damage or change cells as was previously postulated by some. Especially at the low levels experienced in a home environment. Now if you work close to a linear accelerator, we could talk about your body absorbing HUGE amounts of EMF and how that might aid in the removal of iron from your body or any other metal for that matter. ;-)

Post edited by: danmcq, at: 2009/02/12 15:56

Head Bobbing

Hi Smokey, You know, it is always a pleasure seeing someone as yourself paying such close attention to even the slightest things and wanting to insure it's normal and not indicating a problem. You are one great Dad to Smokey! :-) I know your busy, but it's always great hearing from you!!
