3. Oh I know and it is so worry some. Is he breathing weird? did I feed to much? did I feed enough? Are they gainging weight? is that one to small? Is that wing deformed? Anyway you know where Im coming from. lol I have been handfeding for 11 years and it still worries me. But in the end the rewards are so worth it.
4. It is never a good idea to get your parrot a pet so to speak. In most cases it never works out and it means you'll have to spend twice the time with them to keep them tame and clean. Now if you want another bird for you and have the extra time then go for it and since your not going to breed and they well be living in separate cages sex don't matter. Type of bird don't matter that much either. So get something you want and you well enjoy and consider it a plus if they can spend out time together without ripping off each others beak or foot.

fruit pot!

Ya kiwi is great. You may have to at least cut the grapes in half though mine won't touch them any other way.
6. Unfortunately not all certified avian vets are listed. Maybe you can find the local parrot club they would know if you have one near by. I know my avian vet is not listed but he is certified.
7. I would like to add that you playing with the toys in her sight but out of her reach well get her more interested. Birds seem to want what they can't have. As far as getting her to eat new things you just have to keep putting it in there. Try hanging food from the sides of the cage. Try different styles. Chunked, shredded, mashed, ect.... Also once again birds want what they can't have so eat good things in front of her but out of her reach when she is doing everything she can to get a piece of it then give her a bite or two in her bowl. Good Luck

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/08/25 14:43
8. Are you going to an avian vet? If not I would look for one. I hope it all turns out ok.
9. I can't believe none of the guys have said a word. lol You know they had to look.
10. hehe Three times for me and not one "honeymoon" out of the state. But I have been married 18 years with this husband and I hope to be last one. First one I was too young. Second one he became a drugy and still is after all these years. This one is a keeper. lol However we have had some nice anniversary trips. To Texas, Florida, and once to Ill. Until he met me he had never left the state. Lots of places we still want to go to. Yellow stone is the next trip only I think we are going to go camping for that one. (got a whole 85 bucks saved up once we hit 1000 well go) Plan to do it late fall or early early spring before the "tourist" get there. lol He and I are big into wolfs and we really want to see some wild ones. My dad has been on two cruises and he was like you (not really wanting to go on the first one) but his girlfriend really wanted to go so he went and now he is planning the third one and they keep getting longer and longer. And he is the one that planned the last two. And you can get the best cabins and still not pay a lot. Think he said this 7 day one is a bigger room then the other two had and only 750 each. Includes food and some other stuff forgot what. Coarse you'll have to take more for the stuff. Like on the first trip they went on this wine tasting thing and he bought four bottles of some not so cheep stuff. lol You should do that and save a bottle for the 5 year anniversary . I say five cause if you can make it that long you'll be well over the hard part. lol Marriage is not easy and most people split when the first trouble shows up instead of working threw it. Thats what my first husband did he wanted a ready made housewife one that could be his mom more then a wife and I was only 17 years old. He ran for the hills. lol Now he is married to a women 20 years older then him so he has a new mom. Sorry I'm bored and get chatty when bored.
11. Oh I know a cabin in the mountains is so so romantic. A nice fireplace and one of those huge picture windows. Sorry Im not not into going overseas when there is so much here to see and do that I still have yet to do. But I guess if I was to "blow" a wad of money on a trip overseas Italy would be awesome. I just think I could ever jusify that when there are so many other things I'd rather do with that much money. lol My Dad is planning to go to Italy and says he is every year since my Mom died but him as his girlfriend keep doing the cruise thing. BTW you don't spend the whole time on a boat. Think his next trip is a 7 day trip and they well spend two going to someplace in Mexico and two coming back. They keep saying they are going to go on an Alaskan cruise soon. He even gets seasick but on those big cruise boats he doesn't and he says there is a lot to do before they dock. Games, good food, entertainment and even a casino on board.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/08/25 09:53
12. Since the honeymoon is suppose to be about you two and not where you are I suggest stay in the US and save most the money for the house you'll buy. Yellow stone park is my dream vacation. Or you could go to the beach somewhere nice like Florida. Or just stay at home and see places near by you have been meaning to go to and haven't yet.
13. Yes you should qt and take for a well bird check up. It's not to late to QT now just keep an eye on your goffin. Gratz on your new baby.
14. Awwww so cute. Yep time to lower that temp and move him out. lol
15. As long as the outings are not long and you don't keep your house to warm (we run very little heat here cause it dries everyone out) and you only go out for short periods your bird should be fine. Unless it is freezing weather then no can't go out.
16. Aww poor baby. I am sure you well do the best for Mende and he well live a happy long life. Was this an avian vet that told you that? Maybe that has been his personal experience but they can live 60 plus years with the right care.

Granted but it is in a box you can't get into. I wish I had a house on a lake.
19. One for the girls Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my shape to keep. Please no wrinkles, Please no bags And please lift my butt before it sags. Please no age spots, Please no gray And as for my belly, Please take it away. Please keep me healthy, Please keep me young, And thank you Dear Lord, For all that you've done. Five tips for a woman.... 1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job. 2. It is important that a man makes you laugh. 3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to You. 4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you. 5. It is important that these four men don't know each other.
20. So after being a good pet for 14 years you plan to turn her into a breeder? This may not work. She has been a pet so long she may have no clue. Why not keep her at a pet? I know your time with her won't be as much but your kids well grow up faster then you think. Most parrots are very forgiving of that sort of thing. When my Mom was sick and dying from cancer it was 6 months of off and on attention but all my birds took it with stride. I know it well be longer for your kids to start school and suck but it just may work out.
21. Well he is a boy and don't want to give him a complex or anything. lol
22. Try http://www.upatsix.com/ They have a place and people sell a lot of breeder birds there. Im assuming that's why you have to have a male.
