1. I biggest cage you have room for so he has room for toys and wings to spread without hitting stuff. He is a cutie. Weaning is different for each bird. Its not a set time or day. Good Luck

3. I did curves a couple years ago did not good at all. And they were so not friendly. A few years ago I joined a gym with a tread mill I lost 20 pounds in one month. I am thinking of saving up the money and doing that again first of 2008. I have to pay for it up front hubby gets bent if I have an auto draft done. And he starts running me down with things like you wont stick to it. You wont lose weight. ext So have to pay for it myself. Ill save up and add it to my Christmas money and join again. Really you all should try that link I posted two post up. The place is full of people that well support you. I am really enjoying it.

Aww so sweet I am pea green with envy.
5. We have a feral cat that lives with us. When I want birds out or we are not home we lock her up in a bed room. To do this you have to start out with short times when your at home. In the mean time get a crate big enough for a small litter pan, food and water. That way she can get crazy in there and not ruin any of your stuff when you have to leave her long periods at a time. Or maybe cat proof a bathroom to have her in when your at work and at night. All my cats/dogs are crate trained. Now if I have a crate on the floor its a battle to see how many can fit into it to sleep. lol Its really funny the dogs normally win this fight and there well be three or four piled up on top of each other. When the cats win only one gets in cause the two of them wont share. Crate training is very easy when they are little and most love the crate. I only have one outside dog that never really liked it much and still have to fight her to get her in one. Not bad considering I have 8 dogs and all but her are crate trained with very little effort on my part. Good luck

Breeders?

It really depends there is no set age. Example quakers are "suppose" to wean between 8 and 10 weeks of age but I have had some still want a feeding up till 14 weeks. Let the baby set the pace and don't worry about how old he is. You'll have a much happier bird for it. Good Luck
7. Thank you Dan your such a nice person. Que has made a lot of progress this year. And I even managed to pretty much keep my new years resolution for 2007 to spend more time with her. She has a lot of toys but think I need more so that she don't see the same ones every other week. lol I also want to see about getting one of those baby activity center to hang on the bird gym. No idea if she well use it or not. Also have plans for some foraging ideas that well be easy for her to learn then try harder stuff to get her brain to working more. Saving up some money to make a large toy order middle of next month instead of going to the bird fair. lol That way I don't come home with more birds.

9. Glad you all like my swimming works of art. I just love them they are so peaceful and very relaxing to watch.
10. Well Topaz has started a new ritual for the birds. Every evening she well run back and forth in front of the cage door till I get her out for about 5 min. Till her goodnite and give her lovin. Well I felt bad for Que and Joey so I started getting them out every evening too. I had the radio on yesterday when I got Que out and she started bobing with the music when I got her out so we slow danced last night. It was the sweetest thing. Brought tears to my eyes cause I always felt like she didn't connect to me. I felt closer to her last night then I ever have. Is that just silly or what? lol I think it might be cause you guys have such great stories about your greys and mine just short of sits there. Well I have a story now and hopefully more to come.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/10/28 17:24

13. Call the local umm what are they called animal human services and report them. To bad they wont sell him.
14. As they get older most not all get to where they like be touched less and less. My TAG loved to be petted until she was about 2 years old. Then she started liking it less and less. Until one day she decided she did want to be loved on any more. I don't force it. I like my blood where it is and not on the outside of my body. Greys just are not cuddle as a rule so I get out my amazon when I want to cuddle.
15. Well it seems the talking spree is over. lol oh well fun while it lasted.
16. hehe I know its not much to you all with your gabby greys. But Que is going on day two with the jabbering as long as I stay quite and ignore her she is just a jabbering away this morning and yesterday evening. It makes my smile. Wonder if she is tring to out talk my quakers? With all the babies here I have two that are very chatty and one said I love you yesterday to bad it wan't my Topaz. lol
17. My female is almost 9 years old and has never laid an eye. Extra calcium in her diet well help but you yes she can get egg bound. Of the 60 pairs of birds out where I work there is only one bird that sometimes get eggs bound. So the odds are she never will.
