  3. Ceck out your local bird club. Call the vets in that area. See if you can find a bird fair. Good luck.
  4. If "scary" people is what it takes to get them to throw that teflon out. I'm all for it. That stuff is bad. And in time you never miss having teflon. I know I don't. The day all my birds died I threw it all out. We ate out for two weeks before I got my new SS stuff. I got some cheep off brand and have been slowely replacing with good stuff one pan/pot at a time. lol I know it cost a little more that way but thats ok my husband notices it less in the wallet this way.
  5. Well this is an old post. Didn't that baby come home already?
  6. Probable not and it probable has nothing to do with the grey. They are reaching maturity. They may also be the same sex and that well cause even more fighting. I never recommend keeping pet birds together. They make much better pets in separate housing. So enjoy your babies and be their company and they well be fine.
  7. Forgot my camera but Ill get a picture this week. I promise.

With so many pictures and tons of members I really expect to see lots of post. BTW it is ok to get your friends to come vote too. Who knows maybe they well join our little family.
  9. I never really changed my cleaners I use. I do however use them at half of what I did before birds and I no longer use anything that is in a spray can. I use a pump and never spray it in the air. Distance does not matter if it smells strong then water it down till it don't. Its the fumes that get the birds not how far away it is. When you clean your windows use a pump cleaner and don't spray the windows but spray the cloth you are using or better yet make up some in a bucket but don't spray into the air. At least that is what I do. Sorry don't know anything about the product you are using but same should still apply use as little as possible.
  10. It may also have to do with them being outside. Maybe? Just a thought.
  11. If you go to the FAQ are you well find my write up on greys and other birds. The same applies to this too.
  12. That is very odd. The 60 plus birds I tend to only molt in the early summer. /shrug Sure they lose feathers all year round but the molt is only in the late sping early summer.<br><br>Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/09/17 14:59
  13. You can always have a night cage for your tiel in your room. A lot of people do that. I have never heard of a bird hurting itself so bad it dies. I have seen some blood feathers from it but never seen one die from it. Gosh the more I hear people talk about tiels the more I want to try one again. But I have to many as it is need to stop MBS in its tracks. :silly: B)

  17. Each bird is different. My Que (TAG) however has never been loud from the start. My amazon on the other hand when he gets going you can hear him all the way up the street. Good thing he don't do that often. I can't help but add that if you are worried about loudness then maybe a bird it not for you. Any bird can be loud. Some days even my budgies are so loud I wont to throw them out a window.<br><br>Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/09/17 14:43
  18. That is a great book and she is a great lady. I have that book and it has saved me more then once. lol I even reread it ever year just to make sure I have not forgotten anything with dealing with my quakers. My blue Topaz decided yesterday stepping up to get out of her cage is not something she wants to do. lol So lots of laddering yesterday. No she did not bite. Might be time to start letting her come out on her own and then get her.

  20. My TAG is never what I would call loud. Compaired to my Quakers my TAG is a 3.
  21. Great post. Karma to you. Thank you so much.
  22. Are greys one person birds? They can be if they are not socialized. Do they change their person of affection one they reach sexual maturity or sometime in their life? Yes they have been knows to change who their fave person is. What is the difference between male and females personality wise? None that I know of. What is the difference apart from coloration and size between CAG and TAG? I believe TAG's are less prone to plucking and other issues greys have. If I had not found this out during my research on TAG's I would of never had the guts to get Que. (not which one is better) Do Timnehs not talk as well as Congos? No they can talk just as good but not all greys talk. If you are buying a bird just to hear it talk I suggest you rethink getting a bird. How many hours does a grey need out of its cage per day minimum? I let mine out at least an hour but more is better. Are Congos more likely to be neurotic, shy, and/or changing from one person of affection to another? Nope Feel free to have a look around and read some of the great threads and articles people have posted here. Be sure to inturduce yourself in out welcome room also so that our member may welcome you properly.<br><br>Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/09/16 23:44
