1. I have used one but never liked it, so much easier just to put a pot or water on the stove. I would try spraying her more and maybe adding aloe.
2. Oh dear I knew from the get go not to put that stuff on there where anyone can see. So why get so out of shape about it? Hope this is all settled and going to cool down. BTW shouldn't be moved to like off topic or forum suggestions or somethin? JM2Cents.

Alexandrine's

I have a few other birds and care for several but not any Alexandrine's. Think the closest to that is the pair of IRN at the farm.
4. Hey all. Hope your having the very best Merry Christmas you can have and be sure to eat way to much food.
5. Sorry the only one that can help your bird is an avian vet. So might be time for a trip off the island for care for your sweet bird. I don't see lack of calcium causing what sounds like a possible infection. You well need antibiotics and test done on your bird. Sorry no way around that. Keep him warm about 90 Degrees and quite until you can make a trip to an avian vet.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/12/21 18:47
6. Sounds like your baby is getting tons of attention. How long well you have the "pet sitter" might want to start having her only come in for shorter periods get him to use to being in the cage and learn how to entertain himself when need be.
7. Yes please go to the vet and let us know how it goes. And
8. I would of spent more time with her when she was younger and would still let me pet her. I would of given her more out time but I was terrified I would do something to mess her up. (you know all the stuff I was told about greys being pluckers screamers extra sentive birds ect scared me) I think I would of given her a better name too. But I would of still gotten her.
9. I have a blue quaker as well and I breed them. I have been hand feeding and living with quakers for over 11 years now. Good luck with your new baby.
10. I can understand. I to have taken a step back so to speak. Good luck and Hope to see you soon.
11. Not really any benfits. Twice the time to spend with them. Twice the room for TWO cages. Twice the money on food and toys. Twice the mess for wife to clean up and twice the noise. But in your a true bird person twice the fun. Thats why I have 4 pet birds. Maybe instead of a grey talk to your wife about the kind of bird she might like?
12. Only way to know the sex of your grey is to have in DNA'd. Anything else is guessing.
13. Great pictures. So glad you were able to help them out.
14. If you have a space problem there are some great two decker cages out there you can get for them. I have a three teir one that I just love and is worth its weight in gold. I keep two quakers in it and my perch potato amazon. I would do that so they stay pets.
15. I would not go get it till it has been eating on its own a few days. Make sure you are shown how to feed just in case it reverts when you get it home. Also get some oatmeal for him. They like comfort food when young. Good Luck
16. So its still not in a nice home? Have you tried getting the local parrot club to catch it? Our club always helps out with lose birds. Hmmm a name. Gilligan
17. Cute cute. Love the names they so work. Mini and Dot. lol PS Cause of the picture of the dogs on the floor with the birds. Just a reminder dog saliva kills just as much as cats does.
18. Yes things like this go on all the time. Thank you for sharing. So glad it had a happy ending. Most people barely get a slap on the wrist.
19. OH no. Poor little baby. Sounds like your doing all the right things. Just keep up the specail care your giving your baby.
