Sounds like a good idea but I am counting on having just one event for all of us, I want to meet as many of the members as I can and that is best achieved with one gathering. But I like the idea of doing something to raise money for a worthy cause, that is what the bird club I belong to locally does each year, holds a bird fair and the money raised goes to support a parrot rescue organization. You have raised some good suggestions, we will see where it takes us.

There are a lot of books on parrots and a good selection of grey books as well, you should check them out. :P

Such sweet little darlings, I like them but I am limiting myself to 2 birds and I already have them so someone else can get them. Keep us updated on their progress, Tari, it will be interesting to watch them grow and fledge.

Hey Toni, look for some toys in the baby section of stores, lots of them are grey safe and cheaper.

I am not worried, Loofa, I know you will do what is right to keep your Toki safe.

That sounds excellent Loofa, she wants to be with you, but be careful of spending more time with her now than you can keep up in the future, they get used to it, then demand it.

Toki is adorable, Loofa, they are so sweet looking when babies, those dark eyes are just so cute. I am glad she is getting along with the dog but like Tari said, don't leave her out with him alone in a room, don't take that ever so slight a chance, it only takes a second. Just provide her with a bowl of water and eventually she will either drink from it or play in it, maybe even take a bath in it. I am glad you seem to have a real sweetheart and hope she stays that way, mine is one too, she is 14 months old now. Love your tree, looks homemade and nothing wrong with that, Toki loves it and why not, very inventive of you. Keep us informed as to how she progresses.

I agree with Tari, take it in for a well bird checkup, and in the next couple of months if it has anything catching it should show up before you bring the grey home, but keep it away from Romeo for 5-6 weeks to be sure. Glad you took in the little lovebird, it needs your love and attention and besides it will give you some experience and help you thru the seemingly long wait for the grey to be ready to come home. Glad you joined our family, we look forward to hearing more about your Romeo and let us know when Lulu or Elmo hatches. Try to get pictures at different stages of its growth to post on site for us to watch the progress of your new baby. Congrats.

I don't live in a city thank God, I live out in the country, in the mountains of Virginia, but what beautiful mountains. I should post a couple of pictures of what views I have from nearby. I have always lived in Botetourt County except for a few months when I was first married. I would not want to live anywhere else on this planet except for Hawaii, that is. Bad thing is I am far from the things you all in the city enjoy every day, I drive close to 20 miles just to go to work and about the same to restaurants, movie theaters, shops, grocery stores and such. Just takes more time and money for gas to go aywhere or do anything. The beach is a good 5 to 6 hours away, that is one reason why the other place I would want to live would be Hawaii, the beach is close no matter where you are. Out here we have farms and fruit orchards, but not too much industry, but we are considered the bedroom community of the city of Roanoke, about 30 miles away from me. Especially the southern end of the county nearest Roanoke, lots of new houses and new growth. I can go outside in my yard and not be seen by any other neighbors, its quiet, all you hear are the crickets and the tree frogs at night, and it is dark enough to really see the stars on a clear night. I love it here, its my little heaven on earth. My grandkids can come and play in the yard and not have to worry about the traffic, not much of that on a dirt road, but I drive a 4-wheel Jeep because I need it in the winter to get out when it snows. It can get pretty cold here in the winters and pretty hot in the summers but this is where I call home and home is where the heart is and so therefore my heart belongs in Eagle Rock. :) :) :)

Joe, was it like a chicken scratching, my grey does that sometimes too, nothing to worry about, I don't know why they do it but it is funny to watch.
