1. Those are beautiful, Mandi, amazing how a flower can resemble a parrot. I hope you do get out the same day and you are well real soon.
2. Loviechick, I love your signature, very appropriate, may I ask where you got them, they are so cute.
3. You are right, Deedee, cockatiels are a great first bird, I didn't think of them because I never had one.
4. Beccy, romaine is a type of lettuce, more nutritious than iceberg. Snow, what you are doing sounds fine to me.
5. Feed him whatever he will eat, put the pellets with the seeds and slowly increase the pellets and decrease the seeds to get him off a high seed diet. Soaking the pellets in juice is fine to get him to eat them, he needs to get at least 50% of his diet in pellets. Maybe try different brands of pellets, most of us here like Harrison's High Potency pellets. Offer different vegetables and fruits, more veggies than fruit, in different ways, cooked, raw, mashed, slivered, chopped or whatever form you want to offer. There is a thread where it has the ones you should not feed to him, make sure you read that to know what not to offer.
6. Yes it did for a second but then I remembered the beets, she did not eat much but she seemed to like them.

new cage?

There is quite a difference in inches and centimeters, Talon, I just couldn't let that slip by, sorry, I'll make it up to you, I promise. I am at work now and cannot look but I have seen those corner cages on other sites as well and they may be bigger than the one you mentioned, Beccy, I like them but I didn't get one since I liked the one I have better than them. Just keep looking and you will find what you need, and bigger is better but not those macaw size, those are just TOO big.
8. I've never had one to last that long, wow, 24 years old is old for a cat.:huh:
9. Budgies and parakeets are good first birds for children. I had them when I was young, they are not too nippy and don't require a lot of attention. Nothing any bigger than that, certainly no greys, conures, toos or macaws.
10. Yes Talon, a very pretty coat and I am sorry for your loss, I have 2 labs but they areen't that old, but I do have an old cat that is between 16 and 17 years old. Will try to dig up a photo later and post.
11. I have to credit Dan for this idea, I know most of you have been bitten by your greys but how many of you have had someone else bitten by your bird? I am talking about guests in your home who thought they would go over and see the pretty bird and try to pick them up or something and BAM!!! get nailed by that beak.:ohmy: Also how many unsuspecting guests have stuck their face up into your grey's face and gotten nailed on the nose or the lip, OUCH, now that hurts, some people can be so stupid.:blink: Don't be afraid to admit that your grey has delivered a bite to a guest in your home, I know it has to have happened to someone here on this forum. Has anyone on this forum ever been sued over such a bite, now that would be interesting to know. So come on and tell me about it, I sympathize with you even though I am biteless at the moment.:whistle:
12. Just give me a time and place, please. Darn, Josh, you were one of the ones I wanted to see in person, but schooling comes first so you can be the best you can be, will miss you but I'll throw a big one your way now, its the best I can do.{Love-000200C0}

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2007/07/25 13:14
13. Hello, Snow, and welcome to our family. Congrats on your, new to you grey, I am so glad you stepped in to give him a good home and you sound like you care a lot for him already. Read over the threads you see here, you will find the answers to many of your questions in those, but if you do have any all you need to do is ask and we will do our best to provide the best answers we know. Greys are very smart as you are finding out and you will see that they are amazing creatures and wonder why you didn't have one long ago. We look forward to hearing more about Boo and get us a photo of him if you can, we love photos of each others greys.
14. Josey's first bomb this morning had a reddish tint to it and at first I was alarmed but then I remembered I fixed fresh beets for supper last night and she enjoyed some of it. Funny how fresh beets will affect us that way but if we eat canned beets I don't notice a difference.:ohmy: :lol:
15. Sounds good Tari, I may make them also when I can find some time in between working a full time job, a large garden and time spent here, but pickens are slim.
16. You are some kind of good man, Josh, the nice kind you want around. :) :) :)
17. Do you come up with those signatures all on your own or do you have help, they are so funny and clever?
18. You are one of the first I want to meet, gonna lay a big one on you.:kiss:
19. Hey Josh, how about "I Want to Check You for Ticks" now that is a love song if I ever heard one.:laugh: :laugh:
20. Now I like that one, Dan, I think you and I have more in common than I originally thought. :laugh: :woohoo:
21. I wonder that myself, but if CD says we will have a get together then we will, you know he is a man that makes things happen. I would love to be able to talk in person with a lot of the members here, pms just don't cut it sometimes. I doubt 10% of the forum would come but it could be quite a few, would be interesting to see how many would actually come, I know I will be there with bells on.
22. Oh the anticipation is building, I know you can hardly wait for that bite, you want me in your club so bad you can taste it, well taste this.{Emotions-00020075}
23. Beautiful blue color, Tari, a magnificient creature.
24. How are they after they thaw out? I have never tried to freeze grapes.
