You tried to give him a bath, you mean you didn't follow thru? I give Josey baths, she does not like them but I follow thru, she does not get the best of me, I won't let her.

I assume the beans when dried not when cooked, because that is one of Josey's favorite foods, when I have them for a meal.

Not spending the time with him like you did before is probably the key to the whole situation, they get used to the amount of time you spend with them and want you to keep it up. And two months is not that long a time to set up trust and the bond with your grey. You need to get into a routine that you can expect to keep up and give him the love he needs to get that bond set up real good. And when he does bite, don't pull back, in fact push into the bite so he sees you are not afraid and won't back down and he will in all likelihood give it up. Maybe if you give us some more information, we can help you better. How old is he, are you the first owner, how many other people are in the family and such and then we can maybe see how we can help you. I like that name and if you are successful in teaching her to spell it, that will be one for a video thread, I would really like to see that. Of course we can teach our greys lots of things, but most of us don't have the time it requires to do that. Looking forward to pictures, we love pictures here as you can probably tell.

Hello Jo, and welcome to the forum and our family. Has anything changed in your household lately about the time she started plucking? Sometimes something different will cause them to pluck. How long have you had her now? I need some answers so I can try to help you. As far as playing with her, I spend about 30 a day with one on one time with mine, and she is a year old too. The rest of the time out of the cage is spent on a playstand or sometimes I have her on my shoulder. It sounds like the breeder may have cut too many wing feathers or too short, she should not drop like a rock when she attempts to fly. They won't grow back in until she goes thru the next molt. Last but not least, if it has been 6 months since she has seen a vet, since she is plucking, a visit may be in order to see if there is a physical reason for the plucking. I'm glad you decided to join our family and hope we can help you with your problem. Some of the other members may have additional information I have not mentioned here.

That is going to be a trying time for us when our grey goes thru the terrible two's, Talon is almost there and I still have a while yet.

Very nice photos, Ma12cus504, thanks for sharing this weekly update with us. Better watch out for the curtains there next to the cage, he will make threads out of them before you know it. This makes it so easy to see the difference a week makes, he is growing up so fast.

Bekkie the tinned beef might contain too much salt, and salt is bad for greys too so you might want to limit that to very small amounts.

Josey my grey does not like taking a bath. She tries to bathe in her water dish but it is not big enough for her to do a thorough job of getting wet. So I am forced to give her a bath in the sink which she hates but I do anyway because I believe bathing is good for their skin. Would you give me some suggestions as to how I could get her to accept this more gracefully.:side:

Glad to hear Dan that your little one is responding to your presence, that is a good feeling to know he recognizes you. And he is coming along nicely, getting fully feathered and all. No, I didn't but I am so sorry you didn't get to finish the movie, when you go to see something you really want to see and then have to leave halfway thru how disappointing for you. I don't COOK for Josey, but she does eat off my plate at the evening meal, so in a way I guess I do cook for her, but not in such that it is only for her. Well I take that back, I do cook a little oatmeal for her in the mornings, does that count? :P :P :P
