1. You are welcome, Rebecca, thanks for the nice comments. Please do take your bird all over the house and show her everything, it will make her more comfortable to know all the rooms in the house. My grey, Josey, does not like baths, but I do wet her down in the sink. Some of the members take theirs into the shower or use some kind of misting on them. Some even try to take a bath in their water bowl, and some will roll around in a wet leaf of lettuce or some kind of greens. Just don't do it late in the day or she may not dry out before going to bed, not good for them. Give these ideas a try and let us know how you make out, you may have one who loves the water.
2. I think since 2001 or something like that, but it is not difficult once you know your way around and you achieve that by posting and interacting with the members. I thought like you when I first came here and now I am the leading poster. Don't be afraid, we don't bite , but some of our greys do. :)
3. Well Lidia, that is something else you should think about, explore all possibilities.

I too did not know that about sisal rope, either, Dan. We are constantly learning new things here, I guess it is true, the more you know, the more you find you don't know.
5. The excitement shows so don't apoligize for that, I am so glad you got your grey and he chose you, that is the grandest thing.
6. Thats a great idea, Beccy, but you would have to change the water more often wouldn't you?:cheer:
7. Well that is what makes us all individuals, we like different things. When she moved out into her own apartment, it finally got out and she never saw it again, glad it was there and not in my house.
8. Got any more? I could use another one.
9. Oh I wouldn't be afraid to come into your house because of them, I just don't care for them as pets for me. My daughter used to have a tarantula that she kept in a fish tank so I am not afraid of exotic pets, just don't want one, but they are cute and you look so cute holding and cuddling it, how sweet.
10. Well Happy Birthday to you tomorrow, Lidia. Of all my brothers and sisters, all are living but one. 8 of us, including me, live in Botetourt County, the oldest one is 80 and he has a daughter that was born 6 months before me, so I was an aunt before I was born. Four of my brothers and sisters had a child the same year I had my first one and all five of them graduated from the same high school the same year.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2007/07/31 17:33
11. Oh, Heather, I appreciate the beauty of your gecko and I am happy for you, but in your home not mine. It sure is a small one right now isn't it. How big will it get at maturity?
12. Welocme to the family, Darin, and congrats on your new grey. You are finding out what we already know, they are a joy to have, you made a wise choice. A vet visit is in order to rule out any physical problems, but it sounds like all is well. Glad you joined our happy family of grey owners and I look forward to hearing more about Pedro and get us a photo of him/her if you can, we love them.

Some great ideas, Connie, next pit stop, Dollar General. Thanks for the information.
14. I'm jealous, my Sunny does not talk, you got lucky, but they are cute little buggers aren't they. See not everyone thinks they are screamers, I am not by myself.
15. Thanks for the laugh, Dan, that is a good one. {Feel-good-0002006E}
16. Am I the only one of the members to come from a large family, I know most people today have fewer children and rightly so, but I consider myself blessed to have as many siblings as I do.
17. You are so right, Tari, if I ignore her for a long period of time or other people come into the house, she will scream, but it is not that loud to me, and she is just letting me know that someone besides us are in the house. They don't like to be ignored and I imagine in some households they are ignored and that is why they scream to get attention. Sunny gets plenty of attention so it is not a problem. I'll take a sun conure anyday.
18. Thanks Connie, for the wonderful ideas for making some cheap and enjoyable toys for our greys. You have certainly done your homework and I love your ideas, very well thought out and presented, you have given us all a reason to go to the nearest dollar store and stock up. Many thanks for your time and effort, this is what makes for such good members here in our family.
19. Yes they do, Beccy, now that I think of it, really fast, not like a lot of other animal species that take months to achieve full growth.
20. Yeah, you are right, that stucco beak effect is so cute to look at and then that beak gets wiped somewhere and right on your shirt it goes, but you gotta love them.
21. Who is the author on that book, Talon, I may have to check that one out, I haven't seen that one in the stores, and I thought I had seen em all.
22. I don't need anything more to make me crazy, but since the risk does exist, I won't feed any peanuts in the shell to Josey.
23. Good for you Connie, we should put your post on the front page, what a testamonial to this site. Thanks, Connie and Pryde, for the nice comments about the people here, I know it makes my day to hear these words. :) :)
24. Josey does repeat the wolf whistle, and all the time, that is her favorite thing to say, besides "what".
