  1. Heather, I don't know what kind of bird those babies are but they sure are cute. It looks like the nest is in some kind of planter and on the ground too isn't it, thats what it looks like. Maybe someone else knows what they are.:huh:
  2. Yeah, Talon, she would stick to whatever she was on, I can see her now trying to take a step and clinging to the perch, that stuff is really sticky. LOL :laugh:
  3. I just shared some cantaloupe with Josey again and she still prefers the juice to the flesh of the fruit, she seemingly sucks it right up out of the spoon. Sunny just helped herself while I spoon fed Josey.:laugh:
  4. Thanks for diving into the cellar for this one, Talon. Very interesting, I hadn't thought of using pine cones for toys/treats for our greys. Stupid me, I have heard of using them for what Monique mentioned for the wild birds. I don't see why we couldn't use them for our greys, of course the only ones I have right now are some giant ones my hubby brought back from California. Some are the size of basketballs.:woohoo:
  5. Another happy rescue, thank you Julie for what you have done.{Feel-good-00020114}
  6. Why don't you give one of them a chance, Lovie has gotten all her birds that way and loves them. Rehomed birds can be a good choice, if you want to try that route, why don't you pm Loviechick and ask her about it.
  7. We used to have bunnies, but they weren't pets, heh, heh, heh.:ohmy: :ohmy: :laugh:
  8. Not me, Josey only has a red tail.
  9. I love the one in the second shot, very pretty gray.
  10. Thanks, Beccy, I knew Cags were usually more expensive than Tags but not why, but your explanation makes sense. For the record, I prefer the Cag.
  11. Steve, if you could make a video of Mandi in the hospital and bring it home and show it to the animals and then they can see her and maybe it will help them adjust. Do the same with the animals and take that to Mandi and show her how her animals are coping, that way each has a visit with each other. Just an idea.
  12. Welcome, Kausar, and I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and make him step up, and that means you will have to force yourself to hold your hand out to him to step up on and if you get bitten then don't pull back, to make him know that you are not afraid of him and that he has to do what you want him to. When he finds out that you aren't afraid of him then he will stop it. I know this sounds harsh and you may suffer a bad bite but it is the quickest way to get in control of him. Don't treat him roughly or speak to him in a loud voice, just ask politely for him to step up and then extend the hand and take what he dishes out, he will stop the biting when he finds out it does not make you go away. Try this and let us know how you make out.:ohmy:
  13. Hello, Tatee, and welcome to our family, I don't think I mentioned that before in my previous post. You will hear conflicting opinions about shouldering greys, Talon, CeasarsDad and I allow our greys to sit on our shoulders, but some members don't want to take the risk, but that is something you have to decide for yourself. And whatever decision you make, it is the right one for you. Let us know what you decide to name her and keep us informed on her progress.
  14. Welcome to the forum, Donna, I think I forgot to say that, I don't like to miss anyone. Give him some time and he may warm up to you more but if he doesn't then you will just have to accept that. Try the tricks that Talon mentioned, giving him a treat or something he likes to try to associate good things with your presence, it may work.:cheer:
  15. I like that name, better than Joker, and she is so glad to be out of that store she is beside herself with joy and you can see that in the video you posted. Great job with her. Keep us posted as how it continues to go but I bet it will be peachy. :)
  16. And Josey will watch to see where it lands when she does it in a trash can too.:whistle:
  17. And yes if you don't want poop on you, you had better put something on to catch it or just wear something you don't care about. It all comes out in the wash anyway, I just put on another t-shirt.:unsure:

    My Grey

    You are so right, Talon, it could be just days, you better get ready, Toni, your baby is coming home real soon, and I know you cannot wait.:cheer: :cheer:
  19. You are so right, it takes another head to think of a simple thing like that and it does make sense that they view their cage as their territory and if they are away from it it is like ducks out of the water. Two heads are better than one and many heads are the best. Karma to you, my man.
  20. You make perfect sense, and I will try that the next time strange people come and want to get close. Thanks, Celery for your valuable 2 cents worth.
  21. Tricky, you mean you are scared of any spider except for the tarantulas, how odd, even of a granddaddy longlegs?:ohmy:
  22. Well this "landlocked" chick loves her mountains, but I do visit the ocean every chance I get, I'd like to move my mountain close to the ocean, now that would be perfect.
  23. Hello, Kathy, from the looks of that cage it is not too big, it is about the right size, it allows for the wings to be spread out and flap without touching the sides. Your hubby made a good choice and it looks like a fine cage, give him my thanks. Now get some toys and you are ready for a grey. Congrats on your new grey and I know it will be hard to wait but it will be worth it.
  24. No question is silly, and that is a good question, but I don't know why, the Congo is a little larger than the Timneh, but it can't be that, maybe someone else has the answer, anyone?{Emotions-000200C1}
  25. And you are to be commended for that too, Lovie, not everyone can open their heart and home for a rescued bird, it takes a special person to accept them and give them the love and attention they deserve. Thank you.
