  1. You crack me up, Dan, I can always count on you for a good one.{Feel-good-0002006E}
  2. Kim, I guess you have gotten off work, you have been busy haven't you.:cheer: I am going to try to go out this weekend and get my hummingbird tattoo I been wanting.B)
  3. That is so funny, Frankie, Josey would not bother with old food, he must know he dropped some of the best things and when he gets the chance he goes for them. LOL :laugh: :woohoo: :laugh: :woohoo: :laugh: :woohoo: :laugh:
  4. Maybe you will have a good one like my Josey, I have never had a problem with her getting into wires and such, of course I don't let her run around everywhere either. Jus keep an eye on him and if he starts chewing those things then you will have to do something about them. I'll bet your head is swimming with all the ideas and red flags we have given you for when Dayo comes home this weekend and the weekend is almost here. The wait is almost over, are you ready, you better be. I just know things will go smoothly for you, Kim and Dayo. :P
  5. Josey will click her beak like Dblhelix described but not on anything just using her upper and lower beak and snapping them together.
  6. Well Brenda, that was many years ago, she was about 18 or 19 at the time and now she is 39 so that spider is long gone by now, thank heavens. Heather, those geckos don't like to crawl around on you, except for the adult? Do they not like the feel of human skin or is that just the way they are? I guess they are happy to just stay in the cage or whatever you keep them in. Do you handle them much at all? I'm just curious as I have never had any kind of reptiles for pets.:dry:
  7. I think he has found a way to make some noise, and he seems to enjoy it, I don't see any problem with it. I don't recall my Josey doing anything like that but they are all different and individuals. Do you react in any way to him when he does it, that may account for why he does it too.
  8. And I thought you could only use coffee filters to make coffee, wow, I better stock up on filters and forget about the coffee.:blink:
  9. Yes you did, Julie, the excitement is obvious in your post. I am so happy for you and that Tag that nobody noticed but you and am so glad you found it in your heart to take him home with you. You have essentially saved his life, and I am proud of you for giving him a home. It's people like you that we need more of in this world. That being said, keep us informed to his progress and post us a photo of him if possible, I don't care if he does look a little ragged, he is a beauty and we want to admire him too. :)
  10. Lidia I would think if you are wearing the glasses at the time he does that aren't you worried his talons may end up in your eye, I know I would. I have to take my reading glasses off if I have Josey on my shoulder, she wants to chew them up. Lidia, why don't you get someone to take a picture of him hanging off your glasses sometime, that would be funny to see, could be a future contest winner.:woohoo:
  11. Oh and Lidia, Talon knows I am kidding with her, she knows I mean no offense and none will be taken. If my rough sense of humor offends anyone then I am sorry it was taken that way. But then I don't let Josey all over my desk either.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
  12. Then you need to do it with a stick to start out with, and don't do it with him inside the cage, let him come out and then try it. When you can get him to step up onto the stick, move your hand further up on the stick until it is right up against him. Of course you need to not flinch or pull back when he does bite, it will make him bite more, he will associate pulling back with getting you to leave him alone and that is not what you want to accomplish. To him it will be a game and you need to show him you are not afraid of him and it will result in a few bites but in the long run he will understand you are the boss and he must do as you ask. It doesn't mean you have to be mean to him but firm and speak softly to him, save the harsh voice for another time. These are my suggestions, and some of the members may disagree with me but this is my opinion and if others differ then they can post their ideas and opinions.
  13. Now THAT is morbid, Snow, but I know she is kidding, right? Of course she is, my children don't want my birds so I have alternate plans, as I am over 50 years myself. Not everyone wants to inherit birds.:dry:
  14. Josey has yet to chew on a cord on anything, I don't allow her on my desk, I guess that is why. She is usually on one of her playstands, now Sunny is the one who gets on the pullout keyboard tray and gets in behind it and has chewed a little on the cord for the mouse, so I had to tape it.:blink: :blink:
  15. Thank you Shanlung for sharing that with us, you sure do know what you are talking about and you make perfect sense, even to an older brain like mine.
  16. Distractions work as you already know, he is just checking you out with the beaking and that is all it is if it isn't breaking any skin. Yes they can be a little devilish can't they and my Josey can mimic my laugh as well, and the mutterings will eventually turn into words you can understand. It sounds like it is going well for you and Echo and I look forward to hearing more stories and maybe some pictures.
  17. Well thank heavens it was not a nasty bite, just one to let you know you overstepped her bounds. I have no doubt you will succeed in getting it on her and I hope all goes well when you do, it will give the rest of us the confidence to try it with our greys. Keep us informed as I know you will and I am rooting for you to not get bit this time.
  18. I'm with FairY, the heat has fried my brain and I can't think, but I like all the entries and it will be a job to pick the best one.:whistle:
  19. Tsk, tsk, tsk, what am I gonna do with you, Talon. {Nature-000200C9}
  20. Well tell Kim all work and no play is no fun, but I know it can't be helped sometimes.
  21. I'm telling you Dan, T-shirts fit the bill, cheap, easy to wash, no decorations and when they are not fit for wearing, they make great rags, you can't beat that. Thanks Lidia for the list of not wearables, everyone paste this up for future reference.:lol: :lol: :lol:
  22. Snow, did you try soaking the pellets in some kind of juice, some of the members here have done that to get them to eat them. I guess you will have to join Dan's "Bite Me Club", he has a thread on that and he recruits members and you just joined.:ohmy:
  23. Who is the trained one here, Talon, I think you know its not you, don't ya.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

    TOYS

    Very good advice, Connie, thanks for clarifying that sisal issue for us, you may have helped many today.
  25. Good question, Dblhelix, not at the present time but I will get on it. Haven't heard any more about whether or not she will be able to do this for us, but CD is on top of that.
