  2. Could be begging, for you to pick them up, give them something like a treat, or want to just be with you, or like Talon said, I'm in love, come here baby.{Love-000200BF}
  3. Kitty, I don't know where you have been looking for T-stands but there are lots of them out there for less than $100, if it is a simple T-stand and not one of the fancy ones with all kinds of perches and toys. When I do an internet search I come up with dozens of places, just keep looking. In answer to your other question, I don't see why they wouldn't use the rocks, but I think they would prefer the perches and branches, since they would rather have something they can wrap their talons around.
  4. Two more days, Dan, two more days and Dayo will be home for keeps, are you excited just a little bit, now that is a stupid question, I'll bet you and Kim are like kids on Christmas morning, you reckon???:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
  5. I feel for Mandi, how awful to maybe have to have what Steve said they may do to her to get the foot back where it should be. I will be thinking of her and hoping it all goes well and pray it works for her.:ohmy:
  6. Thank you, Dan, as always you are so correct, as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat, no offense cat lovers of which I am one, but it is an old expression. I knew you wouldn't kick me, you are too much of a gentleman for that, but you have to admit that sometimes we all need a good swift one once in a while, at least I do to keep me in line.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
  7. Aloha, Makena, and welcome to the family, glad you joined and congrats on your new grey. You sound like you have a lovely baby and are busy spoiling it but thats what we do isn't it. Your love for him shows in your post and I couldn't be happier for you. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have, and we will do our best to get you the answers. I look forward to hearing more about Makena and get us a photo of him if you can, we love photos here, can't you tell!!! And by the way, you live in paradise, I have visited there 3 times and loved it immensely. :)
  8. Now getting the pea in the middle of an ice cube, I guess you would have to wait for the ice to partly form and then place the pea in the middle otherwise it will go to the bottom, you reckon!!! Insert laugh.:laugh:
  9. Thanks, Eve, for the photo of the red grey, now that is an interesting way to say it, a red grey. I have never seen one with that much red, very unusual looking. There will be a lot of comments on this one.
  10. Thank you Dan, I like your advice better than mine, I am afraid I was thinking like CeasarsDad, that would be the way he would handle it. You are so right, he is picking up on her illness and it bothers him, so after she is well then things will calm down I'll bet. Dan, you just kick me in the head if I get out of line here with my advice,:blush: I admit I don't know everything and 2 heads are better than 1.
  11. No I didn't say the names are silly, they aren't, they are cute names, not what you usually hear them called. If you have a camera, try to take some pictures and post them, if you have looked around on this site you will see photos everywhere, we love to look at pics.
  12. Josey does not like being on her back, every time I try to flip her over she gets all huffy and scared so I stop.
  13. Welcome, Eve, to our family, we are glad you decided to join. You have 2 greys, are they Cags or Tags? It doesn't matter but I was just curious. Sometimes the bird pick us and not the other way around and those turn out the best I think. Those are cute names, unusual for greys but fitting like you said. Can you post a picture of your greys, we love pictures, we would like to admire your birds also. Feel free to ask us any questions and we look forward to hearing more about Tonka and Lego.
  14. I think you may be right, they certainly do look like those house finches, thanks for identifying those for us, Lady Gwennivere, I appreciate that.
  15. Thanks, Rebecca, for the update on Gracie, you took our advice and it payed off for you didn't it. Just don't spend more time with her now than you plan to spend for the rest of her life, or she will get used to it and may develop behavior problems. The bigger cage is necessary so that they can spread their wings and not touch the sides of the cage, but the smaller one is ok for now, because at this age they are a little clumsy. Sounds like things are going well for you and Gracie and I am so happy for you. Keep us posted as she progress and get us some pictures if you can, we would love to see her.
  16. Yes, Lady_Gwennivere, they do taste a lot like chicken, yummy.{Feel-good-0002006B}

  18. KItty, the first cage would be better than the second one as they need room to be able to spread their wings and not touch the sides. Yes they climb all around the cage, top, bottom and sides. You should have several perches and of different materials and different shapes to help with their feet and nails, some rough to file down the talons and so the feet are not in the same position on the perch. Whatever works for a portable perch is fine, you don't need anything special. Most prefer one side of the cage to be back against a wall, it gives them some feeling of safety. You can start at soon as you bring it home to try the harness, probably better to get it started early, they will probably take to it better. Cage toys can and should be all three ways you mentioned, most toys are the hanging kind, but they need foot toys and there are some nice toys that go in between the bars for them to play with. A variety is best, some wooden, some plastic, things to destroy, things they cannot destroy and such. And rotate the toys from time to time so they don't get bored. Clipping the wings is a personal preference, some here do clip and some don't as long as they learn proper flight and landing you can do as you wish. My Josey was clipped to start with but now I am letting hers grow out and am going to try the aviator harness with her. I hope I have answered your questions as best as I can, you are so smart to find out what you can before you make that purchase. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to ask, we will give you what we know.
  19. Oh, please do, Eve, I would love to see that, is it the pink of the rose breasted cockatoo? That is one of the prettiest birds I have ever seen. Welcome to the family, Eve, I see this is your first post. I am glad you joined, do you presently have a grey or are you planning to get one? If you have any questions feel free to ask, we will try our best to answer as best we know how.
  20. Go ahead, Kim, give it a try and give Dayo some too. LOL I couldn't resist. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
  21. How cute, a kitty planter, and the babies are curious too to see who was looking in on them. I hope someone identifies them for us, I would like to know what they are too.

    My Grey

    I know how you feel and it will be like bringing home a new baby for sure, and you have a nice boyfriend that gives you a gift card you can really use.
  23. Thats just it though, you have to crack it open to find it, if you give your grey the peanut in the shell for them to open and eat, how would you know if it had that aflatoxin inside. THAT is why I don't feed peanuts in the shell. Not going to take the chance.:dry: :dry:
  24. Postponement, I don't think I am going to be able to get that tattoo this weekend, my grandson's birthday party is this Saturday afternoon and then my son-in-law's party is after that. My grandson was born on his dad's birthday so we have to have separate parties to honor both. Bummer, I will shoot for next weekend, and as soon as I get it I will post a pic.B) B) B)
  25. Well you won't be disappointed either way you go, both make fine pets and a friend for life. Keep us posted as to what you decide to do.
