  1. This is great news, Deb, glad you found it, and I don't wear them at home either, for she could pick the stones out, but she definitely disfigures them.
  2. More than likely not, so enjoy it while you can.
  3. Nice pens, Joe, I like the first one the best.
  4. Congrats Laurie for picking up a bargain, sometimes things like this happen and I am glad it was you, now if I could just find a bargain like that.

    Perches

    It really does not matter, Toni and besides you don't have to make it too easy to get to the food and water bowls, they will climb the side of the cage also to get to them.
  6. Sandra, if you don't mind calling him the Other Merlin, then I have no problem with it. We have two Merlin's, how neat is that. Sounds like evrything is under control at your house, glad you got your baby home, and the real fun begins, enjoy him for he is so precious.
  7. You are truly blessed, Stephanie, to find someone like her, if anyone can bring Merlin around, it will be her. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I personally have a Cag but some of the members here have Tags and think highly of them, maybe some of them will chime in with their thoughts.
  8. Well if he is gaining weight then that is the important thing, sounds like he gets a good variety of veggies. Keep us informed.
  9. I think you should consult with the breeder and see if he/she has any ideas or tips to get him to eat his feedings, he should be getting the nourishment and if he is refusing the feedings then he is not. Have you tried giving him some other soft foods, like cooked oatmeal or baby foods, he might be accepting of them and you could give them to him with a spoon.
  10. Sameera, 9 weeks is too early for him to be weaned, he should still be getting handfeedings and Tari is right, take him back to the breeder for that if you have any doubts about how to do that. The other behaviors are consistent with greys, he will want to explore his world and he wants to be with you and that is fine, but he needs to be able to entertain himself for periods of time and not be dependent on you for that. When he comes off his perch just put him back, you will have to do this thousands of times, but eventually he will understand that he has to stay where you put him. Reading all you can is good and we have a lot of useful information here on this forum, so use it for all its worth. Please keep us informed as to what you do about getting him back into handfeedings, we want to know.
  11. The brand that I purchased at Walmart said on the label to refridgerate after opening so mine is not distilled down like what you purchased Dan. If you have any questions, MrSpock is definitely the man with the answers on aloe vera juice, he is the one who turned us on to it and knows all about it.
  12. I see that Tari, the beak is overgrown and I would leave it up to an avian vet for filing down a beak, if they need one.:huh:
  13. Very nice pictures of Mozart, thanks for sharing them with us. B)
  14. And you enjoy every morsel of it but the fat is too much for your weak heart, so an attack ensues landing you in the hospital. I wish another donut to never pass my lips again.
  15. Lisa, I got mine at Walmart, it comes in a gal container and I put it in a spray bottle and let her have it. It is completely harmless and when it dries it leaves no smell on their feathers but they seem softer. It is very soothing for their skin. Don't know where you live but a Walmart in Virginia is where I got mine.
  16. So don't spend every minte with him and ignore us, let us know how things are going with the new baby home, we are almost as anxious as you are.:whistle: :whistle:

    Movie

    Thanks Tari for sharing this with us, I loved this video when I saw it for the first time, but I love watching it over and over again. Alex was a amazing grey and we will miss him terribly. :( :(
  18. Awwwww thats so sweet, Tari, they certainly are beautiful and I absolutely love the one that it looks like they are kissing, thanks for sharing these with us. {Love-000200D8}

    Ken Globus

    Yeah we are jealous, but you be sure to give us the low down on what you learn if you go, I know I can count on you for that.
  20. You know Dan, I have tried that spraying Josey with the aloe vera juice and she does not seem to mind it that much, I get her pretty wet with it and I think it is helping her, I use it on my sun conure also, now she hates it.:huh:
  21. Lisa I think there is a problem with the site today that is causing the problem, technical people know about it and hopefully it will be resolved soon. Karma to you for your effort.
  22. Hello and welcome to the family, Dave and Ade, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you two and your new grey, Zeke. It takes time to build trust and to bond with a new grey, especially a rehomed one with a neglectful past, but with lots of love and proper handling, he should make a wonderful companion for you and your family. If you have any pictures of Zeke you would like to share with us we would love to see him. We really like to admire each other's greys and Zeke is no exception. If you have any specific questions you would like to ask, feel free to do so, we have lots of members here who are very knowledgeable in the area of greys and can answer most any questions. We will help you in any way we can, all you have to do is ask. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself and welcome to our greyt family.
  23. Deb, a suggestion, take your earrings out before you even walk in the door, I take mine out before I let Josey out or she will go after them, and I have had too many of them ruined by her. Let us know what you find out about Romo.:ohmy:
  24. I love this enthusiasm of yours Barbara but you are right, we want to know more, how about it, Lisa..... {Communicate-000200D6}
  25. Thanks Barbara for replying to this thread, you are proof that with a little hard work and patience you will be rewarded with the love of a good bird that once was neglected by it previous owners. Karma for you girl.
