If you have never had birds before, you need to start out with something smaller and less demanding than a grey. I say this because there are so many birds including greys that need rescued all the time by people that thought it would be cool to own one and then find out they can't live with it. Do the research thoroughly, read thru our many threads and read some more before you make a decision for getting a grey is a lifetime committment and it not to be taken lightly. Let me ask you one question, why did you choose a grey for a first bird?
-
Some greys do not like much touching and she might be that way, but I hope it is just the flight and coming to a new home that has her a little upset. She will settle in more in the next few days and live up to her new name, Sweetheart, I know she is just adorable and I can't wait to see her.
-
Just when you thought it was safe you are jerked back into reality, I no longer wear earrings at home around Josey, she has ruined too many of mine.
-
Boy this is one of those stories that starts out as a nightmare but changes to sheer bliss and I am glad it is all over for you, I can imagine how you must have felt while this was going on. Heart, that is a lovely name and I bet she is a sweetheart too, glad you got her home and she is doing very well considering what she has went thru today. I can't wait to see pictures of her so get some soon and enjoy your new little bundle of happiness.

Tari, that is awesome, and I hope there is more where that came from and I am sure it will, thanks for sharing a very proud moment with us.
-
Yeah I might get one of those tomorrow night at Outback, a bloomin onion, that will go good with the drinks I am gonna consume.
-
If it makes a noise they can mimic it, take my word for it.
-
That Joe is a mover and a shaker allright, and he makes wonderful gyms.
-
Yes please, SFsailor, let us know how it goes on the flight and after the two of you land, I am eager to know how he reacts to the trip.
-
I put Josey in the tub and go at her with a spray bottle full of aloe vera juice and she does not like it but tolerates it, thats good enough for me.
-
If Junior is your Cag how could you give him up to a new home just because he does not like to be touched. You certainly did not do your homework before you got this grey, they are not known for allowing a lot of touching or being cuddly. If you say you are bonded to this grey then how can you just find a new home for him, I don't understand how you can do such a thing. Josey is a part of my family and I would never give her up for anything. I feel so sorry for your grey, you obviously do not love him or you could not consider giving him up just for lack of being able to touch him all the time. I'm sorry to have to say this but you should never have purchased a grey to start with.

Well I haven't weighed myself lately, but I did get a compliment today from someone who I had not seen in a couple of months, she said I looked like I had lost some weight, so I must be doing something right. I continue to go to Curves for at least 3 times a week, if I go tomorrow it will be the 4th time this week.

Aww come on Beccy, you aren't that scared are you, if you are that afraid of scary movies then why watch them at all. I am watching a bunch of scary movies tonight on the TCM channel, I guess it is in honor of the upcoming Halloween. Boo!!!!!!!
-
Well Dan you are definitely full of it:laugh: Josey imitates the kitchen timer and I am always thinking I have something that is done now.
-
I don't believe in ghosts or spirits but I like to watch scary and ghosts type movies and read those kinds of book.
-
Yes that was a good idea and glad the visit went well, hope all tests come back fine and keep up the good work, Toni.

Congrats Dan on reaching 2000 posts, we don't officially celebrate 2000 with a banner but that comes when you hit 2500 posts and that will be soon I'm sure. Like Joe said you are a good man with excellent information, someone who does not mind going the extra mile for us and you can be a real sweetheart too. I know I can always count on you for guidance on a lot of subjects and you have a wonderful sense of humor. I love ya, Dan, keep up the good work. -

Thanks, BMustee for your advice on females and laying eggs and egg binding, you know your stuff and we are grateful for your knowledge. I have a female too and I don't look forward to possibly seeing an egg laid by her or the possibility of her being egg bound but you gave me the warning signs to look for and karma is coming your way for sure.
