  1. Now that would be a sight to behold, Dan water skiing on wet grass :laugh:yes please wait for daylight. It is another sunny day here in Virginia, 11:10 am, highs only in the 60s, good day for a long walk.
  2. Congrats Sofabed on bringing home Kenny, and he is a baby at 12 weeks, I imagine he is a cutie, can't wait for you to post a pic of him, please.
  3. This is something I don't really have any experience with, Josey does not bite me, she has beaked me in the early weeks but she has never striked out at me or even if she does beak me it has very little pressure to it. I know that could change at any time and I expect to see some changes as she approaches the age of 2, she is 17 months old now. They go thru a rebellious period just like children and I fully expect to join the bite me club then. Tracy, aka LMG, has given you some sound advice on what to do about biting, try it and see if it helps you with your problem and check back with us on the results.
  4. Only 3 people have voted so far, now that is pitiful, what is the matter with these people, everyone obviously has something better to do than come on the site and vote or post something. I guess that means the ones who did vote have no other life but here but hey I am not complaining. Its a job and someone has to do it, might as well be me.
  5. Some people love it and some hate it, I don't like the dark coming so early either but if we left it like it is now it is too dark in the mornings and that means that some children are getting onto a school bus in the dark, now that isn't good at all.
  6. I always look forward to this time of year, the time when I get my hour I lost in the spring of the year back to enjoy again. So all you members out there that live in the US remember to turn your clocks back an hour tonight before you go to bed or you will be the first one to arrive at church in the morning and wonder where everyone is. Remember spring forward and fall back. {Communicate-0002011B}
  7. Laurie, it looks like to me it is the name of a type of pasta, like elbows or rotini, it is a shape of pasta, but the Italian expert will clarify it for us thats for sure.
  8. Well that would be a hoot to see, Jeanie if you can find it, I would love to see that.
  9. Thanks Penny for the testimonial on Ken Globus, I would have loved to have went but I don't think he is coming anywhere near me in the immediate future, but I will keep checking. Sounds like you had a wonderful time and we look forward to hearing some of the ideas he has for some of our problems and difficulties with our greys.
  10. Josey will eat carrots especially if they are cooked and she loves sweet potatoes also, but lots of foods get the rip up and throw around routine.
  11. Looks nice Lisa, you certainly did a good job with it and of course they will be scared of it at first but soon they will take to it and enjoy it I am sure. Congrats Lisa for a job well done and thanks for sharing a pic of it with us, may give an idea to some of the other members.
  12. Yeah sometimes we just have to offer it in a different form or whatever, but as long as he is eating it good for him and congrats on getting him to eat his green stuff.
  13. We really appreciate the updates, Darlene, and I am glad he is doing ok for now and keep up the good work.
  14. How come you can't drive a stick if you don't mind my asking?
  15. It is normal for them to nap during the day, especially since she is still a baby, heck I would get a nap if I could get away with it.
  16. If you plan on getting a new job then I would start leaving her in the cage more and more so she is more used to the longer caged time. I work during the day and Josey is home alone for better than 9 hours a day but she has her toys and the radio for company, and I let her out as soon as I get home. She spends most of the evening out on her playtop or on a portable playstand.
  17. Josey, my 17 month old grey still does that scratching, and its like a chicken doing it, she usually does it on her pellet bowl and sometimes she does it in the corner of her play top. I think she is either wanting out of the cage or to come to me, I just ignore it for the most part.
  18. I am glad that Max has settled in somewhat but it will take time especially since this is his third home so don't rush him and maybe in time he will warm up to your husband. Some greys will prefer one sex over the other and it is not much you can do about it. Keep us informed, Caryl and thanks for joining our family.
  19. Juices are fine, just like LMG said, without added sugars, they love them and the carrot juice would be especially good, yum.
  20. Hello and welcome to the family, Ccilia, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Churchill. Wow what a story of how you came to get him, and I love a good story, but glad you got a grey and now all you have to do is enjoy him for the rest of your lives. Thanks for all the info to start out with, some of the new members don't provide a lot and it helps to get to know you better to have a little background information. You have come to the right place if you have questions, we will be glad to answer any questions you may have and help you in any way we can. You will find lots of helpful information in our many threads on various topics here, just read thru them at your leisure for answers to some of your questions. If you have any pictures of Churchill that you would like to share with us please do, we love to admire each other's greys.
  21. Sara thanks for sharing that with us, I loved it and Charly is so cute in this clip, and I am a little jealous of how he will go on his back and let you pick him up, Josey won't do that.
  22. You don't have to take yourself off this website, we want you to stay, we just take offense to members who make statements that you would just find him a new home, when we would not consider that an option. We love our birds dearly and could not part with them for any reason, so we will just forgive this lapse of judgment, at least I can and please stay and continue to learn and enjoy our company.
  23. Thanks Jimmy for sharing these pictures with us, your baby is adorable, but then all the grey babies are so cute, I just want to hug them all. And Peaches is a pretty thing too and how anyone could abuse such a magnificent animal is beyond me but glad he has a loving family now who cares for him unconditionally.
  24. Its all those Doritos you feed her. Josey stays around 410 and she is a Cag.
