I'm sure he is scared and maybe his love of people will be what brings him down to where someone can find him and take him in and hopefully you can get him back for I know you miss him terribly. :( :( :( :(

Aww she is a cutie, Trish, and so adorable, I just love the babies that still have the dark eyes. My Josey is 17 1/2 months old now and her eyes are light grey, eventually turning a creamy yellow when she reaches maturity.

Oh Joe, I am so sorry to hear this, I do hope you can find him, but I know that chances are slim that you do, but I will pray and hope that by a miracle he is returned to you safe and sound. My heart goes out to you and Valerie for I know what these little guys mean to you both.

Well Ccilia, I can't really agree with you not going to see doctors, I do, but then that is our own individual choices, right, but I am glad you are allowing your children to make regular doctor visits for checkups. They can make their own decisions when they get the age of consent. As for the smoking, I would rather you not smoke, I don't for the very reason that it is a nasty habit that is detrimental to your health not to mention the chunk it takes out of your pocket. But I am glad you don't smoke around your kids and your birds, so at least you are being responsible enough to care about them even if you don't care that much for your own health.

NO man is gonna tell me what I can and can't do with my own body, just because we are married doesn't mean he owns me, because he doesn't in no shape or form. As for registering birds, Mark makes a good point, but we do have laws for dogs but not sure it helps much, I see a subject for debate.

Hello and welcome to the family, Shaun, glad you could join us, we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey. My you did purchase a baby, 5 weeks old, I only hope you have experience with hand feeding a grey baby, if you don't know what you are doing you could do great harm. I would suggest you contact the breeder you got the grey from for some information, I know you would not want anything to happen to this precious addition to your family. Please read thru our many threads here for lots of useful and helpful information, some of it regarding hand feeding babies, it may answer some of your questions. If you have a photo of your new baby you would like to share with us please do, we would love to see him/her. Have you given this grey a name yet?

Hello and welcome to the family, Chuckles, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your flock. I like your description of your purpose in life, yes I guess we all are servants of our greys, they certainly demand it don't they, but we love them all the same. You certainly have your work cut out for you in the one grey's case, it is a difficult process trying to gain the trust and bond with an older bird that comes with baggage. But with your love and lots of time and patience I am sure you can accomplish that, remember small steps. You do seem to have a love for greyhounds and lots of cats, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and that is plenty enough for me. You must have a big heart to rescue so many animals, I am in awe of you, not everyone can do that and I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you can. Take your time and read thru our many threads for lots of useful and helpful information that may answer many questions you may have regarding greys. If you have any specific questions please just ask us and we will try our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Chuckles and Bozo you would like to share with us please do, we would love to see them.

Congratulations, Dan, I know you will do an excellent job with that room. You have already shown you are excellent mod material with the off-topics room and I expect nothing less from you now. You have been a wonderful friend to me also, and everyone here can expect the same friendliness, humor, knowledge, understanding, opinionated helpfulness out of you like I have enjoyed. I look forward to a long friendship with you on this site and our lives here will be so blessed with your knowledge and humor, keep up the good work. Love you, Judy

Clay, he needs to know you are not afraid of him, for if he does he will bite you all the more, so when you go to have him step up on your hand, just do it without hesitation, he may go to bite but stand firm and let him know you are not going to back away, be fearless.

Congratulations, Joe, for having the winning entry, I just loved your Wanna Hula woman, of course I loved them all, they were great and I had a hard time choosing which one to pick for the best. YOU are the best Joe and your hula woman isn't bad either.

Hello and welcome to the family, Trish, glad you could join us and I look forward to hearing more about you and Babygirl, what a lovely name and I bet she is a beauty. Take your time and read thru our many threads here on various topics of interest to you for lots of helpful information. If you have any specific questions about any aspect of grey ownership, please just ask us anything, no matter how trivial it may seem, we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. A lot of us, including me, were inexperienced grey owners also so we know where you are coming from so don't think we know it all, we don't, but we will share what we know and then all of us will learn together. If you are willing to share those stories of your rough start out with Babygirl, we would love to hear about them, and in sharing with us maybe others will be helped by your deeds or misdeeds as it is the case. Don't want to put you on the spot but we all learn from our mistakes and by sharing you help others here and that is why we all are here to learn all we can to properly care for our flock members. If you have any photos of Babygirl you would like to share with us, we would love to see her, we love photos here as I am sure you can tell.

Hello and welcome to the family, KcOcxe, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. Thats an interesting story of how you got interested in birds and they are magnets and it is what got you to where you are now, about to be a proud grey owner. I have a sun conure that was my first parrot and she is a delight to have, she also sits on my shoulder a lot. Please read thru many of our threads for lots of useful information and if you have specific questions you would like to ask feel free to ask us anything, we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. In doing your research, I am sure you have found out what all is involved in owning a grey, they are unlike other birds in many respects and will be a lifetime committment. If you have a picture of your grey you would like to post we would love to see him, maybe after he comes home you can share one with us. We look forward to hearing the stories of the new adventures that are to take place in your household when you get that grey home. Please keep us updated on his arrival.

Yes I'm sure it was awkward for you, but it had to be done and you will feel so much better for it, glad your hubby stood by you on all this, that helps tremendously. You go girl!!!!!B)

You seem to have the bathing problem under control, Pat, and they do thrive on the same routine, thanks for sharing your bird bathing tips with us.

MrSpock wrote: That was a little more graphic than I needed to hear but what a description, you certainly do come up with some good ones. Living with you must be a real treat.

Dave is one of those people who gives very sincere information and then he comes out of the blue with a hilarious comment that cracks me up and obviously others as well. Thanks Dave for the RAOTFLMAO.:woohoo:
-
That would be neat, Jimmy, go for it.
-
Glad to hear that you really do receive the samples and that some of them it was more than just a little sample. Thanks for letting us know about them.

Wow those are some awful bites, but Josey has yet to bite me like that, she just does not clamp down very hard, guess I better count my lucky stars for I feel I have it coming one day soon. {Feel-bad-00020080}

I don't recall Josey being afraid of any certain color, but she does not like the vacuum cleaner at all.
-
You can't have a grey without one, I never thought of making one, I have always bought one with the wire already in it and ready to hang and use. Josey practically lives on hers while she is in her cage. And it is called a boing.

Well keep us informed and either of those names are great.
