  1. Thanks Joe for mentioning that aloe vera juice baths might help the plucking problem.
  2. Dan does have a weird but good sense of humor, but you got to love how we find the humor in a big morning poop. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  3. How long have you had her since you acquired her, maybe the bond has not been established yet? If you had not had her long she may be reacting to the disappearance of yet another owner, with you being gone for 2 weeks. When you first get a grey you should not be gone for any length of time before the trust and bond is set up between you and her. Now that you are home maybe you can get her settled in and then maybe she will stop the plucking. But sometimes once they get started doing it, it is hard to get them to stop, but she may have viewed your being gone for 2 weeks as abandonment by you so you have your work cut out for you. I see this is your first post, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about yourself and this grey.
  4. Some have tried soaking some pellets in apple juice to get them to try them, but your vet will have the best information for you.
  5. I am reading this at work, but as soon as I get home today I will let you know what I find out, Josey is DNA sexed a female, this is very interesting.
  6. Very tough competition, good enough to eat. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  7. Hello and welcome to the family, Rosie, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Sassy-Lady, that is a nice name by the way. Please take some time and read thru the many threads we have here on various topics for lots of helpful information that may answer some of your questions and if you have specific ones you want to ask please do so. We are here to assist and help you in any way we can. If you have a picture of Sassy-Lady you would like to post we would love to see her, I am sure she is one pretty lady, wouldn't mind seeing one of yourself if you would like to do that also.
  8. Wow Joe, very impressive, I am amazed at what you can do, and you cook too. {Communicate-00020110}
  9. A lot of different veggies and fruits can be speared on a birdie kabob for eating and having fun destroying it and making a mess, but hey thats what birds do best.
  10. So Darlene you are getting a new grey, what about Harley, will he stay with the breeder?
  11. Well congrats on bringing home your baby, Luna, and that is a lovely name too I must say and glad to hear it is going well on her homecoming. Keep us updated on her progress, and more pictures, please.
  12. Yeah when are you coming to Virginia, I would love to see what you do, Penny has me all excited about your workshop she attended.
  13. This is really wonderful, Sara, you certainly have Charly rolling all over you and he is so cute doing it, thanks for sharing this tidbit with us.
  14. That is such a heartwarming story, Christina, and you are truly blessed to have that B&G that picked you, it was meant to be, things really do happen for a reason. Maybe this will be the inspiration that Jimmy needs to know that another grey is out there for him and if it is meant to be it will be.
  15. She has ten people to vote so far out of over 2000 members, come on we can do better than that, vote for your favorite edible person, make someone happy today. {Feel-good-000200BB}
  16. I sure will Tracy, but I get first pick. {Feel-good-00020069}

    seeds

    Sprouts are very healthy for us too, try putting them on a tossed salad for a taste treat and some people put them on a sandwich also.
  18. I've never given one to Josey, but it is perfectly acceptable and they probably like them but they will make a mess of it for sure. I would imagine the seeds are the part that you eat, so if you want to try one with your grey, go ahead but be sure to put plenty of protection down and all around for they will probably sling it everywhere.
  19. They all hold their poop thru the night, that is why there is such a big bomb in the morning, they just don't go while they are sleeping, but during the day yes it is about every 20 minutes or so.
  20. Thanks for sharing that picture of wild greys scavenging around for what they can find, they are a beautiful sight to behold.
  21. That looked like a grey, Spooky, and that was the perfect song, thanks for sharing that with us for a good hearty laugh.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

    pumpkin?

    Sure he can have pumpkin and I would cook it first and offer some just like it is or mash it up some and give it to him, you can also add some spices to it. Now the seeds probably should be roasted in the oven, would be more nutty like that way, and a lot of people like to eat those too.
  23. Oh I am sure they know the difference, they are so smart and Churchill has taken a liking to your daughter it seems. A lot of greys do avoid children because they are loud and quick moving, things they don't like much but I would just keep on eye on things when your daughter is around him, but it seems like he is very fond of her.
  24. Thanks Zeta for sharing some pictures of Brody, he certainly is a cute adorable baby, I just love their dark eyes.
  25. I haven't heard of it, what is in it, is it a pelleted food? I give Josey Harrison's High Potency pellets.
