I'm so glad to hear that, Dicky, probably just a tiny bit now and then won't be too harmful but you should keep it away from him anyway. Josey has never touched the stuff because I never have it where she can get to it and now that I have practically sworn off it myself there is even less of a chance.

We are all here to learn more about our greys and how to take the best care of our awesome creatures so they can have the maximum amount of quality time on this earth.

I would be careful having them both close together for if Charlie decided to go after Enzo, he could do real damage to him. I would supervise any close contact between them for right now they are new to each other but you never know what they are going to do, so don't take your eyes off them.

I didn't get any kind of guarantee either when I got Josey but then I didn't get mine from a professional breeder.

If you have the guts to show your face yes indeed you may show us what you look like, we love to have a photo to go along with a name. You are a very pretty woman Sara and Charly isn't bad either and that is such a cute kitten, what a pair of shoulder buddies. Thanks Sara for sharing some pictures with us.

These are wonderful pictures of Charly, he seems like a happy grey Sara, thanks for sharing these with us.

Hello and welcome to the family, Angie, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about Smokey. Actually I have a cat named Smokey and she is charcoal gray color. Yes unfortunately a lot of greys become one person birds and mine is no exception, she only allows me to interact with her, she will tolerate my hubby sometimes but she will take cheese from him. Please read thru our many threads on various topics for lots of useful information and if you have any specific questions please just ask, we don't consider any question to be silly or stupid. If you have a picture you would like to share with us please do so, we would love to see another photo of Smokey besides the one in your avatar.

My Josey eats off my plate at dinner and she eats spaghetti, chicken and lots of other foods also but she gets pellets every day and fresh veggies and fruits. I don't feed too many seeds and I don't give milk, even diluted to her, they cannot digest dairy products. You should start introducing pellets and if he does not start eating them, try soaking some in some apple juice to get him to try them. You should cut the goldfish crackers out completely or at least as only an occasional treat. He should be getting lots of fresh vegetables and some fruits every day.

Ronda, patience is key here, it just takes time to set up that bond and for her to trust you but it will happen and don't be discouraged and I promise you it will be worth it.

Lisa, Brody is so cute, what a lovely baby grey, I just love them when they still have the dark eyes and thanks for sharing that photo with us.

I think you are gonna have to clip one more feather on each wing Ronda so she will know she can't fly everywhere she wants to. It does take time for her to settle in and then she will get down to a more normal routine but for now she is in a strange place with strange people and all that after her harrowing experience on a plane. I think she will be just fine, just don't stress over it or she will pick up on that. You are doing a fine job and the day will come when she comes to you and and wants to be with you all the time so just have patience and good things will come to those who wait.

I'd say you have a mature grey, Asnead72, because that is what others with older birds have to say about them. I don't think you have introduced yourself yet, Asnead72, why don't you go to the welcome room and do that so we can get to know you better and welcome you to the family.

Acappella, we have a FAQ section that has some information in it on posting photos, please read and see if that answers your question.

Hello and welcome to the family, Sara and Charly, glad you could join us and I know you will enjoy it here, we all do. I like the way you put that, you are owned by an african grey for that is truly how it is with all of us, and they are so precious to us. Have you had Charly since he was a baby and did you handfeed him? Just curious because some of our members did just that. So I hope this partner you hope to marry shares your love of greys for that is the ideal situation and I'm sure it will happen for you if that is what you want. We all want to be happy and that is commendable of you to want to make everyone around you happy but you do the best you can, but people have to make their own happiness and if joining this forum makes you happy then we are all the better for it. You have just made us happier for joining our forum. Please read thru the threads for lots of useful information and if you have any specific questions you would like to ask, just do so, we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. If you have a picture of Charly you would like to share with us please do, we would love to see him. -
Well I wasn't going to tear him that big a hole, but thanks for the post, BMustee, I could not have said it better myself.

Awww Mandi, you don't have to leave the site, just check in from time to time whenever you can, you are a good contributing member and we hate to lose you. Say you will just come on occasionally and post something to let us know how you are doing. We all lead busy lives but most of us find a little time to join in here and be a part of the family. But I understand you have a lot going on but you don't have to leave, now that you are a member there is no minimum number of posts or amount of time that you have to be here to stay a member, so just check in whenever you can and don't say goodbye, because I will see ya the next time you are on.

Yes it is, and thanks for showing the two photos together for the comparison, wow what a difference only 9 weeks make and she is getting prettier by the day. Thanks for keeping this going Connie, it is amazing how much they change in so short a time.

Hello and welcome to the family, Flint, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing lots of stories about your grey. Please read thru our many threads on various topics for lots of useful information on all aspects of greys and ask us any specific questions you may have. We will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. If you have a picture of Flint you would like to share with us please do, we love to admire each other's greys and yours is no exception. So you have a poker buddy, I hope he does not give away your hand to the other players, that would be so funny if he did. Maybe you have a story about a poker game with Flint that you would like to share with us, if so please do.

Congrats Melissa for another fine piece of work from an amazing girl, you certainly do your Momma proud.
-
Thank you Beccy and Tracy for researching this topic for us, I thought they were safe for our birds and so I will continue to give them to Josey and Sunny.
-
Josey was chosen after the character in a movie with Clint Eastwood, "The Outlaw Josey Wales."
-
I hope we hear something soon from MrsMQ, I am worried about her bird.
-
I'm so sorry, Keith for your loss of Obi but there was nothing you could do to have prevented it, and thanks for sharing the necropsy report with us. I know your heart is heavy with grief right now but we are here to talk to if you need us, all you have to do is ask.

That is so cute Kristin, you did a good job on your entry and Makena probably thought what are you doing with my papaya, I can't eat it this way. LOL

They really are beautiful fish and peaceful looking like you said, thanks for sharing them with us.
