We have so many bowls now that it is pitiful, pretty soon we will have enough for every team in the NCAA to participate, plum pitiful.
Sorry Kristin about Hawaii's loss, but UVA lost a close one yesterday too.
Well don't complain, my Josey is trying her best to imitate SpongeBob Squarepants laugh and it is hilarious to hear.:woohoo:
Thanks for sharing some more pictures of Harrison, she is a beaut!!!
Awwww what an adorable baby and she is blushing a little too, you can see it in her face. Thanks Lillipilli for sharing a few pictures of Kuki, she is a living doll.
Yes they are and greys are way cooler than even parrots but they are different from other parrots. I think if you read thru many of the threads you will find out just how complex they can be but very rewarding to have as pets and companions.
Don't expect too much in just a few days, give it weeks and maybe months, greys are very cautious and it takes time to build a relationship so don't rush it. But you are welcome to come on this forum all you want and participate in any area of it, in fact I encourage it.
I can't add much to what Lovie has already said, 3 weeks is not enough time and when he gains more trust in you he may be more accepting of you invading his territory but for now you must accept that.
But it still takes time to adjust to a new home and to build the trust that will help it feel more comfortable. Each grey is an individual and being so will do what they want to and it this one does not want to sit on your hand you will not be able to force it to do so. You pretty much have to accept what they are willing to give and if you force it you could lose their trust. Be patient and see how it develops.
Hello and welcome to the family, Sunny, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey.
Is this a baby grey or an older bird and what is it's name? Do you have any other birds in your household?Just a little information so we can get to know you better.
Please read thru the many threads on various topics for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask us any specific questions you may have. We will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can.
If you have any pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to se it.
Hello Sunny, since you have only had this grey for 2 days you are expecting too much too soon. It takes time to build trust and bond with your new grey, give it a little time and with patience I am sure it will be more accepting of sitting on your hand.
I see this is your first post why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and this new grey
As I am sure you can tell, you cannot change your own karma but you can other members and I just gave you some. We do discourage giving negative but you are allowed 1 every six hours so use it to reward someone for a good post. :)
Thanks so much for updating us on Kimi, he does not know he is different from other greys but you have provided him with a loving home and he will continue to bring you joy and happiness. I am glad he is otherwise healthy and happy.
I would speak with the breeder you purchased him from if it is a chance it is genetic.
Please keep in touch with us, participate in this forum all you want, we care about you and Kimi and we want to know how he is doing, but for now he looks good, is contented and you love him unconditionally and that is all that counts.
Like we said before just keep offering them, eventually they usually will eat them, be sure to offer them in various ways, fresh, cooked, chopped, mashed, sliced and etc. Some are picky but will accept them in one form or another, you will just have to keep trying.
Very cold here in the teens and still windy, it drives that chill right thru you, otherwise cloudy on a Wednesday morning at 8:45 and back at work, bummer
Awww Heather, we don't mind a bit if you want to share some more pictures of Harrison, she is a beautiful subject and you do good work with the pics, I love em.
Hello and welcome to the family, Tasha, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Gandalph.
I hear ya about enjoying the birds more than the dogs, I agree with you 100%. I have always been more of a cat person but now that I have two parrots I enjoy them more, I still have 2 cats but when they are gone they won't be replaced.
Please read thru the many threads on various topics for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask us any specific questions you may have. We will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can.
If you have a picture of Gandalph that you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
Mark is right, do not put it back on but keep it with any documents you may have for her. I never had Josey's put on her leg but I have it in a drawer. I have heard of some horror stories concerning those bands and chose to leave it off of her.
Thanks for the update, Spikester, glad you two are enjoying each other so much. I'll just bet he is a little ham when it comes to dancing and if you have the means to take a short clip of him doing that we would love to see it.
I do have one bit of advice to give you though, do not give him food from your mouth and especially if you have chewed it, we have bacteria in our mouths that could make him very sick, they are not used to it.
Thanks so much Tracy for sharing this with us, and I just love the last pic of them doing the same thing together, did you plan that!!!!!
I just love this chronological set of pictures of the boys, the changes are so apparent from the fuzzy little babies to fully fledged greys and your love of them shows. It's written all over your face in that one picture of you holding them.
I was looking back in previous posts of yours Carol, and what other behavior is he exhibiting, being an older bird he could be showing sexual arousal, they will hold their wings out and down from their body.
