  1. You got it, Berna:laugh: There was an article in Bird Talk magazine one month last year about the caiques but I didn't pay it much attention, so this shows how much you guys influence me here on this forum. I can always use another clown to go along with the one I have.:laugh: B)
  2. Now I know I have to have one someday, thanks a lot Berna:S B) :laugh:
  3. I think I would have about killed him over that, I don't blame you for sleeping in another bedroom. The tarantula actually did escape one night but it was after she had moved out so it was not in my house, but she used to handle it all the time.:pinch:
  4. Now how big will she get? I can relate to the live crickets, my daughter used to have a tarantula and she fed it live crickets, I was always afraid one would escape and then all you would hear at night is the chirping of that darn cricket.
  5. Oh I got one: when you come home from work with hubby sitting in the same room where your birds are and you say hello to the birds and ignore him.....:laugh:
  6. Now how big is this bearded dragon, from the pic it looks like maybe between 1 and 2 feet long?
  7. StaggerLee, you have brought up some good points about pvc which no one else has even mentioned before. To tell you the truth I just assumed it was safe but in looking it up, I find that it is indeed poisonous and a lot of places no longer sell toys and baby items made with it. I will further investigate to see if I want to invest in building one for my grey, maybe not. Thanks for bringing this to our attention for us to consider further. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and your grey.
  8. With all them birds you do have, Tiffani, I am surprised that you don't already have one, I know if I get me another bird it may just be a caique with the raving reviews we have received here.
  9. MBS is Multiple Bird Syndrome, most of us here have it. Well we do have some that do just that, they have a problem and that is what brought them here but now that you have joined if you have a problem just post about it and someone will help you almost immediately, we usually have a few of our regular posters on at any given time. Wouldn't mind seeing a pic of that bearded dragon if you would share one with us, an interesting and unusual pet.
  10. Hello Louise and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Eddie. So glad you could rescue Eddie and give him a proper home, we always have a soft spot for anyone who does this as it takes some work to make him feel at home and bond with a new owner. I'm sure he was very nervous and scared when he first came to your home but we preach time and patience here and that is what made the payoff work for you. He is very happy now if he is sitting with you, allowing you to scratch him and especially if he regurgitates for you, that is the ultimate reward. Do you have any other birds or pets in your home? Most of us here have more than just our greys, a lot of us suffer from MBS and it can strike at any time. Take a few minutes and read thru the many threads for lots of useful and helpful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures besides your avatar you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  11. No you are not stone mad, you have MBS and it strikes us all I am afraid but congrats on getting a caique. I am not very familiar with them but they make great pets I hear. How awful to be banished to the garden shed and given the name of Freak, what could they have been thinking, but he has a new home now and a good loving one I am sure. I look forward to seeing pictures of Zorro, the gay caique, oh just kidding:laugh: so play with him a while then get us some pics please.
  12. Bingo, you win the lottery and find out that you have relatives coming out of the woodwork everywhere and want a piece of the pie and to make everyone happy you give them all an equal portion of your money and it all runs out and you are penniless. I wish I had a new man for every day of the week.
  13. You girls have been working overtime on these jokes, all funny and good ones I must say, good work gals, let em rip!!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  14. I like the oldies rock and roll. What kind of music do you like best?

  16. Greys are lactose intolerant so they cannot handle dairy products but you can use juices like apple. The clusters with dried fruits would not have to be soaked, just give it to them like it is.
  17. I keep stepping on your toes don't I Tracy, just helping out where I can but we know who is the expert on bird foods don't we!!!!
  18. Tiffani is not kidding when she said she had a FEW birds, I would never be able to keep the names straight, but she is a wonderful person who loves her flock and what a flock it is. B)
  19. Quieter than yours thats for sure, Bella sure is a hand full isn't she, but then Josey does not have the time to do me like that in the mornings as I have to leave the house for work. Bella does sound like a real rambuncious girl doesn't she, so full of herself and I guess there is never a dull moment in Terri's house for sure. But you gotta love the laugh and I hear Josey do mine all the time and I laugh all over again when I hear it so the circle goes round and round.:laugh: Thanks Terri for sharing another far from dull moment in the life of Bella, the little rascal.:laugh:
  20. Thats amazing how they react that way but frankly I hadn't noticed it before but I will from now on, but like I said today it is dreary and raining and she was fine when I left so go figure. She was just my little snuggle bunny Sunday.:kiss:
  21. Thanks Tracy for the link, I will check it out, but going to the store for some 12-grain bread today.
  22. She was fine as frog hair when I left today but it is raining here today also so I don't know, maybe she was just having a bad day Sunday. I am thinking of getting one of those full spectrum lights, some members swear by them.
  23. I have never tried this personally but from what I found out you can soak the oats in water or fruit juice and then blend in other fruits and nuts as desired, but of course this will need to be properly refridgerated or frozen in small portions. It can also be prepared dry with the rolled oats and dried fruits and nuts. This would not have to be refridgerated but stored in an airtight container.
  24. Thanks Ronda, I love that!!!{Feel-good-0002006E}
  25. This is a great thread Tiffani, thanks for starting it, now I will have to think about it a little before I can add to it, too early in the morning for my brain to work properly.:blink: :huh: :silly: :whistle: :laugh:
