  1. Thanks Mark, I knew you would give us an indepth explanation of why the moon looks red during an eclipse and thanks for the link for the ones who want to know more.
  2. Oh for crying out loud, I think you both are adorable and your duck and chicken too. I knew about the mallards because my hubby is a hunter and has bagged mallards before, I have a stuffed one on the wall along with the other mounts. We gotta get back to the topic and that is posting entries for the backyard bird contest.
  3. Ten lashes with a wet noodle for getting off topic, Ronda and tell Jessie that if he could only be so lucky. B) :woohoo: :cheer:
  4. And you are doing a good job of it too Ronda:laugh:
  5. Sometimes what you want to teach them they won't say but something else you would rather they not repeat and only say one time is the one they pick up and say.
  6. Now wouldn't that be neat to have a rewind button. Muse you are going to have to pay better attention so you won't miss the good stuff. But I am betting that it won't be long before you are going to be hearing a lot more than you bargained for:laugh: Thank you for sharing your story with us we love hearing about these.
  7. I think Mark, aka, Dblhelix, is right, you may need to have her see an avian vet ASAP instead of waiting if there is a chance she could be eggbound. As far as holding one foot up when perching, that is normal behavior, they all do that from time to time to rest that foot.
  8. Hello Joey and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your quest for a Cag. I would think one of the babies left from last summer would make a good choice, we have members here who have purchased one older than that and had good results. No matter the age you still have to spend time with it to bond with it. How old is Bandit, your severe macaw? I bet he is a handsome guy, you will have to post a picture of him in the other birds room for us to admire. Please read thru many of the threads here on various topics for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
  9. A DNA test does not cost $300 and there are mail in tests you can get that only cost around $25 or so, I believe one of them is found at www.avianconnection.com It usually requires a drop of blood from one of the talons clipped a mite too short or it can be done from a few feathers plucked from the breast. You can also have it done at your vet's office but I imagine it will cost more, but certainly not $300.

  18. What other church is there,LOL, I want to see a video of that too, just thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth.:cheer:
  19. Casper you do need to keep the routine as normal as possible for if you are at ease then he will more than likely be too, he takes his cue from you. I think he will settle down in a few days and be fine. As for the feathers they will grow back.
  20. Boy I wish I knew a vet that would come to my house to see my birds but not out in the country like where I live, you are very fortunate. Please let us know what the vet has to say about your grey. Congrats on your impending marriage in October, what a wonderful time in your life.
