  1. These are all good links guys, thanks for sharing them with us, we all need cheap easy ways to entertain our birds.
  2. Its gonna be hard to beat little Miss Snowpea, she is a cutie pie if I ever saw one.
  3. Yes we heard about that, how horrible for Eddie, and he does not understand what happened, he probably thought the perch just up and threw him off it, hope he gets over it soon.
  4. That would be the ideal way but they won't cooperate will they Tracy:laugh:
  5. No you have been busy Ronda, you have a life you know even if I don't. :woohoo:
  6. OMG, she is going to bury us with videos, just kidding, Ronda, bring em on girl.
  7. My hubby is all the time coming in and saying you have crap on your back, and I say so what else is new, I wouldn't know how to act if I didn't have some poop on me somewhere.  :woohoo:
  8. My sun conure was having a bad day Sunday, must be an epidemic going around:P
  9. Tiffani, aka, MommaFawkes, has given you some excellent advice and she should know, she has lots and I mean lots of birds, you should check her thread in other birds where she has posted a pic of every one of the birds she has, she has major poop.
  10. Those are adorable of Sweetheart Ronda, even of the end of the one where she shows her true colors, she prefers you and that is becoming more apparent. Thanks for sharing them with us.
  11. Hello Melanie and welcome to the family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Kika, what an unusual name, does it have some special meaning? Sometimes our birds choose us and not the other way around, she knew you would make her a good mama, she obviously felt a good vibe coming from you and she suckered you in, hook, line and sinker, just kidding:P Take a little time and read thru some of the threads for lots of useful and helpful information and ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Kika you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  12. Thats so cute Ronda, she is a cutie and I love that back and forth on her cage top and she can talk too, I bet she is a delight to have share your life with, thanks for sharing her with us.
  13. The only thing I can tell you to do is just keep taking her off your head and putting her on your shoulder and telling her to stay. She will eventually learn that she cannot go up on your head but it will have to be done hundreds of times before she stops. When she starts climbing up there tell her no and make her come down to the shoulder, repeat as necessary. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and your grey.
  14. No you did the right thing, Beccy, he was picking up on your vibes and reacting to it, by returning to his usual routine you were in essence saying things are ok and there is nothing to worry about. Wow an earthquake, now that is something that I have never felt, but I have heard that is feels like you are standing on a giant bowl of jello.
  15. Hello Beth and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Lila. Sorry to hear about your uncle but now you have inherited his grey and it comes with eggs, fancy that, but she plucks too. Poor thing having lost her owner and now having to get used to a new one she is probably stressed out right now. It will take time for her to adjust and bond with you so give her lots of time and be very patient with her. It is normal for greys to be very wary of new toys, you have to put them where they can see them and get used to their presence before you can ever put them in their cage to play with. I would suggest that if she has not been in a while that you have her checked out by an avian vet just to make sure she is healthy and has no problems. Take a few minutes to read thru some of the threads for lots of useful and helpful information and do ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Lila you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  16. Hello StaggerLee and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Dudley. Is this grey a rescue, I presume so since it is a mature one and you just got it, can you give us a little background on her? Is this your first parrot? Take a few minutes and read thru some of the many threads for lots of useful and helpful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Dudley you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  17. Yes this injury could have happened right after hatching and he does not know he even is missing anything so don't worry about it and enjoy him for what he is, he is perfect in your eyes, the ones that matter.

    i'm back!

Welcome back Beccy, I have missed you and we all have missed you a lot, I was afraid something bad had happened to you but glad everything is ok, now you got some catching up to do.
  19. So she does talk, just not outside of her cage, I'll bet she does later on after she settles in good.
  20. Thanks Matt for the update on the findings of the necropsy and the vet is right, there was nothing you could have done to prevent it from happening. I am so sorry but I am glad to hear you are wanting to get another grey and maybe Max's brother or sister, what a tribute to Max that would be. Max can never be replaced but another grey can help heal the hole you have in your heart for Max and you can find joy with another grey, I believe Max would have wanted it this way, he taught you to have unconditional love for the grey and what better way to honor him. We are here to help you in any way we can, just let us know what we can do. We do have a Pet Memorial room now so if you want to put an entry in it for Max that would honor him as well.
  21. And hopefully that new grey will help you to get up out of bed by calling you until you do get up but I imagine you will survive just fine. So you set two alarm clocks but you still hit the snooze button a dozen times, you really aren't a morning person, how do you get to work on time!!!!
  22. Can you guess logging on to this site and posting is a hobby of mine, nah you would never guess that in a million years would ya!!!!! If you could have met someone from the 18th century who would that have been?
  23. Good grief girl, you are so excited you can hardly stand it can you, I just bet you were jumping into the air with joy and you should, she has come a long way but she is bonding to you big time now. Time and patience works wonders and you can't say we didn't tell ya so. Next thing we will hear is how she follows you everywhere you go and you can't get anything done for her underfoot, blah blah blah:whistle: Congrats Ronda, you did it!!!!
  24. Oh boy now I get a testamonial from another bird lover but this guy does sound like a character. Thats too bad his previous owner clipped his wing like that but it sounds like he still enjoys himself and entertains everyone else along the way. Thanks for sharing his antics with us and be sure to keep us informed of his future haps and mishaps.
  25. Sounds delicious, Tiffani, will have to try this sometime, thanks for the recipe.
