  1. I am glad she has apparently forgotten the episode and I would imagine you were the traumatized one and not her. And I don't blame you, I would let someone else do that job next time.
  2. Well it looks like you are gonna have to get a lock and put on her door, she is a smart cookie and probably sits there on the door all proud of herself when you come in, "Wow, look what I can do". She will get into all kinds of trouble if allowed to continue to get out and maybe hurt herself, too risky.
  3. So is she eating and playing like normal now? If so she was not hurt too bad and she will get over it, sometimes they will hold a grudge but if she is acting normal then she has forgiven you but "just don't do it again" is what she may be thinking.
  4. Melanie I am so sorry you had a horrific experience with clipping a talon for some blood, I would have freaked out myself. I don't think it should have bled that much, I thought a slight snip would only give a drop but from what you describe it bled a lot more. I would keep an eye on it for a few days but they do hold one foot up to rest it and they do that a lot. You poor thing, I would have rushed her to the vet ASAP if it was me and I would have been a basket case by the time I got there.
  5. Nice pics Tiffani, thanks for sharing them with us, maybe you can resize them smaller:blush: :cheer:
  6. One question, has anyone had a cold or the flu lately, if so he is just mimicing those sounds, greys will copy all sorts of sounds and noises, LOL, I don't think your grey is sick, he's just having fun.
  7. Casper is really growing isn't he Ronda and I know you can't wait and I can't wait for you.
  8. I assume you were talking about the pictures you added to your profile and Dudley is a beauty, you can also put some in a post if you would like, we could see her better.
  9. We are still waiting on the pictures of Tiny and his bath, no rush but bring em on soon.
  10. What an inspiring story Wendy, I think I would have been moved to tears also and how proud you must be to have accomplished that with him. It does give us the motivation to try and do something similar with our own greys, you just have to keep at it and never give up. Thanks for sharing that with us Wendy!!
  11. It is possible that Bella could have opened the cage herself, they are very smart and some of them figure it out easily, so far Josey has not. But I have heard of some people who have had to have some kind of lock installed on the cage to keep in some birds that open their cages up and leave, but most of them were some kind of macaws or cockatoos. You got a little escape artist there Terri:laugh:
  12. My grey is a female and she is a good talker and she says words and phrases in my voice and my hubby's voice so I don't think talking ability is any different between the sexes. She also talks while we are in the room with her and will also answer us with the same words.
  13. You won't find a better resource of information that right here so get reading and we will answer any questions and help you as much as we can and if you decide to go with a grey then you will be prepared.
  14. A match made in heaven sounds like:P B)
  15. Hello Claire and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you are thinking of getting. We just love our greys and I think you would too, you already have bird experience and a nice selection of them at that. A grey would be a nice addition. Please read thru as many of the threads as you can for lots of useful and helpful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. BTW, what are your bird's names?

  17. Very fair, thats what I paid for mine.
  18. Hello Claire, you have a nice bunch of birds, I have a sun conure also. I would suggest you read thru as many of the threads here for lots of useful information and it will answer some if not all of your questions about the grey. BTW, introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and your birds.
  19. Well I guess you are getting a grey then Jdr, congrats and let us know for sure, sounds like a good deal.
  20. Well so far I have resisted it but you never can tell:whistle:
  21. She should have demanded a necropsy to determine what the cause of death was, it could be something that could not have been prevented or something that happened to it while at the sitters. Do you know whether she is having one done?
  22. OMG, they are messy then no way, I can't have a messy bird, ha ha ha:laugh:   Berna, why don't you just purchase some more cages and then you can have them separated, the finches in one and the doves in another, you know you want to so just do it:laugh:
  23. You go girl, Berna if anyone can get them then it will be you, you got MBS real bad:laugh: thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
  24. I am so sorry to hear of the death of your sister's grey and without a necropsy to determine the cause of death she won't know what caused it, but that would be unusual for it to be because it was stressed out by leaving it with pet sitters. Not that it hasn't happened, I guess anything is possible.
  25. I think you left one out Tiffani, does she make the pass gas sound!!!!
