    Cuttlefish?

Yes please Marlow introduce yourself in the welcome room and we can get to know you better and maybe be of some help to you as I feel you are wanting to get a bird but just not right now, and thats ok.
  2. I have never fed Josey any pellets but the Harrisons and she loves them but you could try soaking them in some juice to make them more appetizing and then gradually wean it off them, its worth a try.
  3. Hello Eladeflow and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Gollum, thats an unusual name, does it have special meaning? Most greys do not like much touching especially petting and you have to respect that they usually love head and neck scratches, so give plenty of them. They can be a little territorial also and that is what he is doing about that one perch, he has claimed it as his comfort zone and you are not to enter it. Try bribing him with a treat, sometimes bribery works wonders. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Gollum you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  4. Tiffani you would be in big trouble if she did tear off your keys with the forums you keep up with at the same time, I don't know how you do it, must have a super fast computer and fast fingers.
  5. Hello Jessie and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we already know so much about you already that you probably couldn't tell us much more. That Ronda is a wonderful valued member and we think the world of her and you must be so proud of her. We also know that you are expecting a goffin cockatoo soon and we have been following the pictures that Ronda has been so kind and generous with, what a lovely addition he will make to your flock. Please do join Joe's men only thread for he is the only man to post in it, the women kind of took it over but then you know how women are. We love him though and he just loves being surrounded by us women and you will love it too, we will make sure of that. Ronda does have fun here and we love having her and now you too, we do learn so much about our greys from the other members and we share information with each other. In fact I am coming to WV this weekend and Ronda and I are planning to meet for lunch if we can get it arranged, I am planning to meet several of the members if I can as some are considered my best friends.
  6. Welcome to the real world, Muse, thats exactly what Josey tries to do too, eat the keys off, you want them to be near you but when they do they are tearing everything apart that they can get to. I wear reading glasses when I am at the computer and Josey thinks they are there for her to get a hold of and tear up.
  7. So you avoided a breakout today, good job Terri, she just needs to be kept busy then she does not bother to try breaking out. Let us know how tomorrow goes.
  8. Of course Laurie, I haven't been there in a while but yes it is a nice beach and nice area with Norfolk and Portsmouth nearby. Wish I did live closer, it would be nice to be able to visit with one another.
  9. Well you're here aren't ya, lets hope you stay this time, wish you could come and fix mine.
  10. What an excellent idea Tiffani, that would certainly work, you go girl, young and smart.
  11. Thanks so much, OHSNAP, for the information on a breeder in Ohio, you give a glowing recommendation and it should help that new member with her quest.
  12. Well there you go Berna, you got your ddoves and I am so happy for you, can't wait to see the pictures.
  13. I'd say it won't be long Tari and I know you are so excited and I am excited for you, yah Que talks:P
  14. Poor thing, to tell you the truth I didn't know they could actually cough and sneeze, see we all learn something new every day and this is mine for today. I'm glad his tail bobbing has stopped and hopefully the antibiotics will help him and he will be over it real soon. But be prepared, he will mimic the sneezes, coughs, clearing throats and such as he hears them and you will swear a person did them it sounds so real.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised when you get home that she is sitting on her cage door pleased as pudding that she got out yet again, you poor dear, you got some rascal there Terri.
  16. No they don't like change Yvette so things have to be introduced slowly and gradually so they have a chance to get used to them. Unlike people who like to change their furniture placement from time to time they would prefer it stay the same way forever. Some grey do indeed dislike any kind of touching but I think you will eventually get him to step up and maybe he will accept head and neck scratches, most love those. Continue to be patient with him and in time I think he will be more accepting of stepping up and some touching. If he enjoys the shower in the cage and that is the only way you can get him in there then continue with that also, in time he may come out and allow you to take him in to the shower without being in the cage.
  17. Yeah Terri, what is going on in your household right now, is Bella up to her tricks or has she wised up that because you are there, just upstairs, she is behaving, come on and give us an update.
  18. Hey where is the grammer police when you need them:laugh: just kidding guys, I couldn't resist. Thanks Tari for the wonderful suggestion for Hanna.
  19. Berna is right, you may have to endure some bites to get him to understand the hand isn't going away by biting.
  20. I agree with Dan, he has given you some excellent advice, it does take lots of time especially with an older bird but I think one day he will step up for you.
  21. Thats ok, I figured maybe it was but wasn't sure, you don't have to have a grey to join the forum but most members do have one. Can't wait to see the pics.
  22. You are so right Dan, pressure applied is key but that can be hard to do with a bird that is freaked out because it is bleeding and its foot is hurting. Probably something best done with more than one person on hand.
  23. Hello John and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new parrot. You didn't say what kind of parrot you are getting, is it a grey? Regardless of what it is I am sure you are so excited about bringing it home soon. A parrot is different from having lovebirds but then you know that already. Take some time and read thru as many of the threads as you can for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. We look forward to seeing some pictures when you get the chance, we just love admiring the babies.
  24. I did not know that tail bobbing was a sign of distress in breathing, my oversight for not checking that out, but glad to hear you are taking him in for a check. I hope he is going to be ok and please keep us informed, I will be thinking about you two today.
  25. I don't have any scratches on my hands either Tiffani, maybe Joe does and I wonder why, hmmmmmmmmm:huh:
