I just don't know how you can be so addicted to this site, it sure beats me but glad to hear you enjoy it so much:whistle: Glad to hear you enjoy your grey especially the part where she poops all over you, thats the best part of all. B) Boy I tell ya someone would have to get up pretty early to pull the wool over your eyes, you got Dan's real name on the first try.  B)

Thats great news Krystal and thanks so much for letting us know so now we are relieved too. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room:)
-
Well that won't be a problem here as we never tire of hearing about our greys so you share what you want with us for we understand completely how you feel.

Hello Mouse and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. Its possible he could have jumped on a perch too hard and injured himself but the other possibility might be it also. I have never heard of this before but then I am no expert either. He could have been that way from hatching or right after hatching, sometimes they get hurt by their parents or siblings. When you took him back to the shop you bought him from why did they not want you to take him to see an avian vet? That sounds suspicious to me, only a vet could make a diagnosis of what is wrong with your grey if anything. He does need a complete checkup by an avian vet anyway so go ahead and take him in and please let us know what is wrong with him. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to see him. BTW, what is his name and how old is he?
-
Sorry to hear your grey has a problem but he does need to see an avian vet, something is not quite right. Let us know what you find out because we care. Then introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and your two greys.

Thanks Rae for the laughs, the one I got in an email for someone else and it had some cute graphics with it but it is still funny. Take care of that sore throat, mine is still a little irritated but better.

Hello Amber and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Tuki. Baby greys are usually more accepting of people and then as they mature and become more independent they may be more inclined to be left alone and favor one person. And some do favor one sex over the other and yours is no different. I think you need to interact with her more, I sense that you are afraid of getting bit and she knows that and is using it to her advantage to keep you away. Get her out and include her in activities to keep her more socialized. Take a little time and read thru the many theads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Tuki you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
-
Well if you don't "make" her then she is getting away with it, you need to be the parront and she the baby. She is going to try you to see what she can get away with just like a child. I'm sure she will be more mature than you will ever be, but then that is my opinion based on your info and I am pulling your leg but then maybe not, thats for you to figure out. :woohoo:
-
Well yeah she can aim it where she wants but she can't control how they smell, you might have to do a process of elimination to see what is causing the poops to be so stinky.
-
Amber are you giving her veggies, fruits, grains and legumes in addition to the pellets? My Josey also does a huge morning poop but it does not shoot out the cage, maybe yours is aiming it that way for the fun of it. I don't notice an unpleasant odor with her either so I don't know what is going on with that. Maybe some of the other members will have some other ideas. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and your grey.
-
You don't say whether your grey is a baby but if it is thats most likely why it is cuddly right now. Some greys will stay cuddly and some will outgrow that trait. My grey never was particularly cuddly and as they mature and become more independent they don't like cuddling much anymore. You just may have one that does enjoy it more than most and she may or may not outgrow that soon so enjoy it while it lasts.

Fletcher wrote: Thats quite a statement but it is so true, we do have a wealth of knowledge and lots of members who are more than willing to share what they know and help each other with any problems they may have. Smithie you do have a while before your baby is ready to come home so read thru as many of the threads here as possible and you will find lots of information that will answer many of the questions you may have. You will find advice on what to do before you bring it home, what to feed it, bathing and of course many stories of haps and mishaps in the lives of greys.

My motto is if it ain't broke then don't fix it.
-
Not quite sure what you mean by that but no I don't color eggs for Easter, but I may devil some. Do you hang colored eggs on a tree in celebration of Easter?
-
Thank you Berna for at least that much:laugh: Siobhan, yes this started as a grey exploring its new home thread but it kind of got sidetracked off topic for some odd reason, I don't know how that could have happened.
-
Well thanks a lot Dave, 57 is older but not old but sometimes I certainly feel old and silly but we will let you know if your humor becomes irritating because I can be honest here.
-
You started something good,:laugh: don't worry about it,B) we got it taken care of :laugh: Now lets have some fun girls!!!! {Feel-good-00020069}

Honey, at 19 you don't know the meaning of old, trust me, at 57 I know old and you ain't it:laugh: We welcome all the photos you would like to share with us, we have an other birds room where you can put pics of Buzz and we will see how groovy he really is.
-
Thats just a little too much information for me Berna, now cut that out.
-
Ok we were just concerned because you said you gave him the cores and we didn't know whether you knew to remove the seeds before giving them to him. Now another thing is when you eat an apple do you eat it off the core with your mouth or cut it with a knife? I ask because bacteria in your mouth is toxic to them as well so if you eat the apple with your mouth your saliva will be on the core and that isn't good either. You never want to allow your grey to get to human saliva for it contains bacteria that could harm him. Sorry to be bombarding you with so much accusation but we care about your grey and want to make sure you do not do anything to put him in harm's way. Please don't take offense because none is given, just concern.

OMG, a barf fountain, how colorful ah description, if I was you I would turn on a light the next time you get up in the middle of the night to pee:laugh:
