Those wild greys are so beautiful and I love seeing them in their natural environment, thanks Dan for sharing that with us.

Hello Peter and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Meko. Meko is a lovely name for a grey, has he been DNA as a male? At 19 weeks of age he might be trying to talk but that will probably come a little later, a lot of greys do not talk until they get around 1 year of age, including mine. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/24030-whats-your-greys-diet.html So you are unsure of what to feed Meko, I have included a link that has a lot of what we feed our greys in it but just do a search and you will find lots of threads that deal with the greys's diet. Most of us do feed pellets for half or more of their diet along with a few seeds but not too many as they have a lot of fat, something they don't need much of. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Meko you would like to share with us we would love to see him.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/05/31 21:57

Yeah I haven't been very good myself lately, in fact just this evening I ate cake and had ice cream, I know I wasn't supposed to but it was my daughter's 40th birthday and we were celebrating and everyone knows you can't have a birthday and not have cake, jeez, I have got to get a handle on this or I will be sunk, I need some help guys!!!
-
Keeko sounds fine to me, one of those names that is gender neutral in my opinion:)

I'm sorry about your birds, please accept my condolences on your loss but if you cleaned your oven of the teflon and when you used it again you lost yet another bird then you may have no choice but to get a new oven, one without any teflon in it and some self cleaning ones do I think. Thats the only way to be sure.

I usually have the patience of Jobe but I can't wait for tomorrow morning to see the next installment of "will she or won't she"   sorry I can't help but laugh:P Maybe with the Irish you can't be just firm, with that temper they are noted for it comes across as cross:evil:

Thanks for that update on the greys from that Limbe Wildlife Centre, thats wonderful they are being released to be free and fly away on their own, they have done a fantastic job of taking care of them after they were so savagely crippled by those uncaring hunters:angry: I bet that is a sight to see groups of them around the town.

You're a good mama Pat for acting on this so quickly since a lot of us would take a "wait and see" approach especially since she seems ok otherwise. Hope she is taking her meds better than some here that had a problem with that and hope it gets better real soon.

They are FairY, lots of fun and Sunny rides around on my shoulder most of the evenings and no matter what I am doing she hangs on tries to get into whatever I am doing at the moment, a virtual little clown, she's certainly as colorful as one. B)

Thats wonderful news to here, the cat probably didn't even get a hold of her then, Vash took the brunt of the attack and that saved her, she really is lucky.B)

Hello Walt and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you, Karen and Kiko. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Alfie but he has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge where one day you will see him again in all his beauty. Now you are concentrating your attention to another grey one, 6 month old Kiko, who will never take Alfie's place but once you have had one of these awesome creatures its hard to not have one in your life. From your avatar he is a cutie but then I am partial to the babies with their dark eyes and they are so adorable at that age. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Kiko you would like to share with us we would love to see them.

That was going to be my suggestion Siobhan, you need to be a little more firm and forceful, she is getting the best of you and she knows it, time for you to take control and if you handle it correctly you won't get bit over it either, wishing you luck;)
-
Yes your baby needs a name, do you know the sex yet?
-
Millie certainly is a cutie Tracy, a living breathing doll, thanks for sharing her with us:kiss:
-
Gosh woman you didn't have to shout so loud, we get the message, ok, jeez:S
-
Berna I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your cat Angel, may she rest in peace and your heart be lifted from the grief very soon and I know all too well how you feel. I lost my beloved cat Smokey last month, she was 18 years old and it isn't easy to let them go but it was for the best as she is no longer suffering.
-
So sorry about Vash but I hope that Milly will pull thru, I know you will do all you can for her:(
-
I cannot view the video as I am at work but are you asking her to step up, I don't ask Josey, I just extend my hand and say step up or if she just sees my hand coming her way she knows what I want her to do. Sorry you are having a problem with Liath and I will try real hard not to laugh:blush:   sorry can't help it:laugh:
-
No if he was talking before he will talk again when he feels more comfortable in his new home, it just takes a little time for him to settle in and one week is nothing. Give him a little time and encouraging him to whistle will not discourage him from talking.
-
You got yourself in a world of crap, plain and simple:woohoo: and btw, you can get a wonderful maroon color with fresh beets:S

Yes a grey is a lot to handle but if you know what you are getting yourself into then you will be prepared for it. I ask that you thoroughly research the subject of greys to make sure you are prepared to make that lifetime committment to owning a grey. You need to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is what you really want. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can.
