Stephanie, I would just kind of let him keep the routine he is used to for now and gradually change it as time goes by. He has enough to take in right now with his new home and surroundings, you don't want to overwhelm him so soon.
-
Well so glad to hear that things are going great for you and Gryphon, he is going to settle in nicely with you, thanks for the wonderful update.
-
Thats bullcrap, some greys do not talk until they are over 1 year of age and that included mine and there are some that might not talk until older. I don't know where you heard that but not an ounce of truth to it.

Hello Betsy and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Sparky. Have you had Sparky all of those 5 years or did you just recently get him? He has quite the vocabulary so someone taught him those words and phrases, not the wisest decision but colorful. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you are having trouble posting photos please read the FAQ section on posting pictures, I have included a link to it for you. http://www.greyforums.net/faqs/page_2.html

Congrats on the hatching of new babies, your wait for a baby grey is about to come to an end, I know you probably feel like it has taken forever but soon you will have it home with you, keep us updated and be sure to share some pics if you get any.

Have you considered taking Oscar to live with you? If he has picked you as his favorite then maybe your parents would allow you to keep him but that does not solve the other problem. Some greys are more needy than others and suffer from separation anxiety, they do not like to be left alone much. You will have to find some things to occupy his mind and his time to keep him busy enough to now pluck or otherwise damage his feathers. We have some members here who can offer you some excellent advice on this plus we have loads of info in our many threads. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you.

Jim I am so sorry that Rigel had to go thru that this morning but like previously said animals do pick up on stuff like that before we do. I live in VA and even though earthquakes are quite rare they can happen but I have never experienced one and hope I never do. Let us know how soon he calmed down and how he is now.

Hello Jennifer and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Cisco. For lots of useful information do read thru the many threads and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Cisco besides the one in your avatar you would like to share with us we would love to see them.

Well congrats Penny on yet another accomplishment with Rikki, she is adjusting to her new forever home very nicely I must say. I am proud of her and you for what you have done for Rikki, she is a very lucky Cag.

Bryan, I am so glad to hear you are home, wow it was no fun huh and that is scary to hear you had some complications but you came thru with flying colors. I have no doubt that Loki missed you very much, they do get attached to us very quickly and that makes you feel so good when she is so happy to see you and Kim got a little one on one time with her too. I do believe you have found someone to be a sitter for Loki when you have to go out and leave her, hope Laura feels the same way, but I'm sure she does. So happy you are back with us Bryan:) B)

If that is what the night time temperatures are going to be then she will get used to it, if you are comfortable with it then she will be too. -

She may be testing you for the honeymoon is over, she is settling into her new home and she is going to see just what she can get away with. My Josey can be that way sometimes but she always steps up when I ask but sometimes a little reluctantly. I wouldn't worry too much about it. -
