Greg I don't know about loud but the cockatoos are some of the most cuddley of the parrots, they don't call them velcro birds for nothing. Some of them get quite large but some of them are about the same size as a grey or slightly larger. I am sure there are other parrots that could classify as cuddley and some of the other members will chime in with their ideas and suggestions.

Well who could blame the poor thing, being locked up like that for so long I wouldn't want to be caged ever again either but I am sure you will be able to work wonders with him, like you said time and patience but this will be a long road but I have faith that you will accomplish a lot with him. I am so happy you could rescue this cockatoo for someone bit off more than they could chew, all he needed was the right person to give him what he needed and you fulfilled that. I'll just bet that Keana is a real sweetheart and I can't wait to see some pictures of her.

The beak does grow back, what you see in the pics is the flaking off that happens from time to time, all this is normal.:silly:

So you are a new owner of a grey since Kea is only 4 months old, how long have you had Kea, all 17 years? You do have quite the collection of animals but if you love each and every one of them then the more the merrier. You live in the best part of Hawaii, the country, I have visited there several times and it is a paradise on earth, I quite envy you.
