Pink Floyd is not my cup of tea but to each their own, I won't come for the music but for the good company.

I am knee deep into the shenanigans of two little girls, age 7 and 2 who are my grand girls who came to stay for the weekend, boy I am telling you I am getting too old for this:laugh: It is a cold day today but the sun is out so just to look out the window it looks nice:pinch: We are baking some cookies later so the fun continues:lol:

Thanks Pat for coming thru so quickly for Mary, karma coming your way.
-
Way to go Carolyn, thanks for sharing your ideas with us, that is a great looking toy, looks like some you would buy that way, keep em coming, you are helping us to save a little money. B)

Ok sorry, I don't use one so maybe one of the other members will chime in with some info for you with "first hand" experience. I probably need one but I only have 2 parrots so for now I do without.

I love listening to Brits talk too especially one in particular;) but I wouldn't love the bloodly weather. {Feel-good-0002006E}

You are lucky Roger to live where you have many such animal and bird preserves to see them in a more natural habitat and yes they do have a very long beak similar to scissors, thanks for sharing them with us.

I think a lot of the members here do use some type of air purifier to control the dander from their birds, just do a search to find the threads concerning them, what kind, how big and such.

That is funny but that is the oldest trick in the book for parrots, they love nothing better than to throw toys over the side for us slaves to pick them back up for them to repeat as many times as wanted.

I echo the others comments, continue to work on the trust as that is more important at this stage, most everything else will fall into place after that. Thanks for the wonderful update, you are doing great.

Hello Daveyj and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Alfie. Congrats on your first parrot, a grey, you have undertaken a lifetime committment that will bring you much joy and probably a little heartache but then that is all included in a love relationship, you take the bad along with the good. You have certainly come to the right place to look for information as we have loads of it in our many threads so continue to browse thru them and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Do you have any pictures of Alfie you would share with us, we would love to see them.

She does seem to be enjoying it and she is a good looking grey for sure, thanks Mark for sharing these with us.

Thats wonderful news Pam and yes give him plenty of time to warm up to you, being a female you have your work cut out for you but a challenge worth doing. Please share some pictures when you get the chance.

Hello Michael and welcome to the family, so glad you could finally join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this grey. I am so pleased you are willing to take a rescued grey as most people would prefer a baby, including me. An older bird that has had previous owners may come with baggage that may make it more difficult for you to bond with and learn to trust you. It may take more time and patience to win the heart of this grey but you will reap many rewards. Rehomed and rescued greys can make excellent pets if you are willing to overlook a few possible bad habits but they still continue to learn and if you are willing to make the lifetime committment then you are doing the right thing. I agree, a bigger cage is necessary for them to be able to spread their wings and not touch the sides especially if you have to leave it in the cage during the time you are at work or otherwise not home. As you have already looked thru some of our threads please continue to do so for lots of useful information and do ask questions and we will help you in any way we can. The first chance you get to get some pictures of this grey please share some with us so we can see him too.

Hello Diego and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey, btw what is his name? I don't have any answers to your question but we do have some very knowledgeable members here who can help you with your problem and more than willing to do so. Please do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to see him.

Hello AlphaWolf and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Rebel. Wow you have had Rebel for a long time so I guess he is your little buddy, you two should have quite a relationship going, there is nothing quite like it, they are so special. Not that you need it but we do have lots of useful information in our many threads so browse thru them at your leisure and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Rebel you would like to share with us we would love to see him. -
Hello Weetinks and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Tinkerbell. You don't tell us much about yourself or Tinkerbell so I will ask you some questions. How old is Tinkerbell, Do you know the sex, how long have you had him/her and did you get him/her as a baby? If you would provide some answers and a little more info we can get to know you better. You will find great info in the bird food room so browse thru for lots of ideas of what to feed your grey. You will also find lots of useful information in our many threads in all rooms and do ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Tinkerbell you would like to share with us that would be great.

Aww he's a cutie and I can imagine that he is one handful, those conures are, I have a sun conure and she is about the same way but she does not talk, thanks for sharing Sarge with us.

I can hear your excitement and this day has been a long time coming, I remember when you posted earlier this year about wanting a grey and your bf didn't want you to have one. Well you made the best decision and now you have made a deposit on a grey and I couldn't be happier. Now comes the hard part, waiting for that day you finally can bring Rocky home, it will seem like forever but trust me it will be soon and then we want to hear all about him. He looks like a nice chap sitting on that perch, you must be so proud of him, thanks for sharing a pic with us.
-
Thats great he is talking already, most do not for a few days while they are settling into a new living arrangement but he must feel comfortable. He may prefer males at this point in his life but that does not mean you cannot have a good relationship with him. Just keep talking to him and you be the one to give him treats, that way he will learn you are good for at least one thing. He may never come to accept you as much as he does your husband and son but I think with a lot of time and much love on your part you might be able to sway him to trust you. I am anxious to see some pictures of Paco so as soon as you can manage it post some for us to enjoy.

We should all be so lucky to have a cousin like Melissa's;) :cheer:

Cageless is never an option, too much stuff they can get into and get hurt by and even if you work from home you cannot keep your eye on them every minute. There does come a time when you step out to go to the store or even the mailbox and leave them, you wouldn't leave a 2 year old child alone and you can't leave a grey either, use some common sense.

Look at that adorable little puppy, Sushi is just a mouthful:laugh: a little tidbit of a dog, I can't wait to see some pictures when she gets full grown, I'd be afraid to handle something that small and delicate, thanks for sharing a picture of her with us.
