  1. Emma is loving that toy, love the way she twirls around with it, thanks for sharing that with us.
  2. It looks good on Charlie, hope it does stay but don't be too surprised if it doesn't, thanks for sharing the pics with us, it is very becoming on him.
  3. It looks like it is a hit with the birds, even the grey, thanks for sharing the great ideas for some toys.
  4. Roxie is adorable from the pic you shared with us, she looks healthy but be sure to get her checked out as soon as you can. Keep offering her veggies, sometimes after ignoring them for quite a while they take a notion to try them and like them, don't give up.
  5. What a cute little bird, she looks like she is a delight to have and enjoyed the video too, thanks for sharing it with us.
  6. We look forward to seeing some pics of your flock.

    Help!

Just seven days, that is not enough time for her to feel comfortable and trusting of you yet, she is probably gripping harder than she normally would, give her some more time. Provide her with some rough perches in her cage and position them where she will use them, they help to keep the nails in good condition.
  8. My thoughts exactly:woohoo:  :pinch:
  9. Brittany wrote: Sure take him with you in July, most do ride very well, I take my grey along when I go visit my son and he is a 4+ hour drive, 3 more hours isn't going to make much difference. She will play with her toys and talk most of the way.
  10. Mind, why would we mind, we love looking at pics of greys here. You have a wonderful time on your vacation.
  11. Oh yeah I am familiar with that backpack as I have one myself but glad to hear you had a good time with Tigerlily in it today.
  12. We have lots of threads here, read them for lots of helpful information.
  13. Well for the first thing, don't allow him on your shoulder if you can't control him, that is not the place for a bird you can't handle. How long have you had him? If not long then you may not have gained his trust for he seems to be afraid of you. Sometimes greys don't want to be handled or held, respect his right to be left alone at times. Have you ever had a parrot before, is this your first grey? I think we need some more information if we are going to be able to help you with him.
  14. Hello Marie and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your flock. With all those birds you do need a bird room, I only have two parrots but wish I had a room for them to theirselves but that won't happen. I would keep their cages as they are their sanctuary, their safe place, they can be out of the cage in the room if they like but sometimes they just need to be to themselves and a place they can keep as their own space. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so please read thru them and do ask questions if you have them and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of your birds especially the grey and would share them with us we would love to see them.
  15. Cool, thanks for sharing that link with us.
  16. You may have to keep Pakshi as first bird, meaning that you do things for her first so she knows her place since she was there first, that should help but with time I am sure she will realize she has to share your time with Rishi. Then it was meant for you to have Rishi, he knew he liked you from the moment he met you and that is so sweet but that is how a lot of greys have made it into our lives, they choose us and not vice versa, thanks for sharing that story with us. I will check out your profile for the pics, thanks.
  17. If you are going to allow Darwin to be on your shoulder, sure bring him along with you around the house, just be aware of the dangers of allowing your grey on your shoulder but if you read their body language and go from there then you shouldn't have any problems.
  18. Thats a lovely picture of Emma, who wouldn't fall for that, thanks for sharing it with us.
  19. Josey is fairly quiet also, she has her times when she is more vocal but they are not when she is on my shoulder but since greys are individuals I can imagine that some are loud. Sorry to hear you are resorting to wearing ear plugs but you do what you have to, wear the ear plugs and ignore it and maybe she will quit.
  20. Hello Ram and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Rishi. Well I am sure you are not ignoring the tiel for Rishi but you do have to be careful you devote equal time to each and special time one on one so neither feels left out. Maybe you can tell us in some more detail how you came about to get Rishi and I assume from how you said it that he chose you and not vice versa, those stories are always so endearing to hear. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Rishi you would share with us we would love to see them.
  21. Thats great news, glad to hear of the improvement. Continue to update us on Sooty, we do care as you are family now and we care for everyone here.
  22. You continue to amaze me with your ideas for toys from simple things you find, thanks for sharing all these ideas with us, beats going out and paying big bucks for toys they distroy in no time and I have better things to spend my money on, like eating:S
  23. It sort of looks like the pics were taken outside, were they? I would be careful of having him outside without any kind of harness on him or enclosed in some sort of cage, I wouldn't want you to lose him as many have.
  24. Who would have thought, I been throwing those bottles away, what a clever idea but wouldn't your bird get frustrated eventually for they couldn't reach the almond?
  25. Thank you Dave for bringing this to everyone's attention and writing what I had on my mind all along, you have such a way of putting into words and the balls to say what you really feel, love ya man. Your comments weren't half bad either Dan, love you too.
