  1. Oh I'm sure but he is gorgeous, no wonder you like to visit him, his beak does seem a little long doesn't it.
  2. Thanks for that tutorial on how to make this ladder and Partner looks good on it too, I think even I could make this. You did an excellent job with the ladder and the instructions, very good job.
  3. Try reading thru this thread for help in posting pics. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/photography-room/89533-how-to-post-picturesphoto-tuturial.html
  4. Hello LDHanson and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Perico and your other fids. Try looking at the thread in the photography room on posting pics in threads, it might help you with that. It is always so heartening to hear when someone rescues parrots as there is so many of them out there in need of good homes and it takes a special person to open their heart to them. I'm glad to hear you have been poking around and reading the threads so continue to do that for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

    New Bird ..

You never know, he may have suffered that break from the woman who had him and it is hard to tell what he may have been thru so it is no wonder he is not keen on females right now but only time will tell so be prepared to spend a long time in earning his trust. He may never come to regard you like he does the males in his life but you two can still be friends, patience is the key word here.

    confused

He's just lovesick, nothing to worry about, normal grey activity, enjoy.

  8. MarkW wrote: Thats a great way to look at it Mark, maybe he is looking after you and no you are not nuts, you are our kind of people, bird people and we are only nuts for our birds. I do hope in the near future you can find it in your heart to try again with another bird but only you can answer that question.
  9. Sunny with clear blue skies, highs in the upper 80's.
  10. I am so sorry for your loss Mark, it just wasn't meant to be this time but don't let this sour you on getting any more birds as you seem to have a lot of love to give and there is a bird out there for you if you just look for it.
  11. Adaya looks like she is enjoying her atom, how about Tyco, did she go on it too?

    New Bird ..

This female he used to live with must not have treated him very well and that is why he seems to not like women and this is something he may never get over. Greys do tend to choose their favorite people and some greys will choose one gender over the other but that does not mean you will never have any kind of relationship with him. You will have to continue to interact with him, sit by his cage and talk softly to him, offer him treats, maybe take him into another room to work with him and preferably when no other males are around, I believe you will have more luck that way. Be prepared to spend a lot of time and be very patient with him as you don't know about his past and he has some serious trust issues to deal with, this may take months and even years depending on how old he is. Just don't take it personally, he is being affected by his past and whatever happened and it will take a long time for him to come to trust you but he may never warm up to you like he does for your dad so don't be too disappointed if he always favors him over you. It is wonderful that you could take in this grey and give him a good home, he needs the love and attention of someone who will give him what he needs the most, a forever home.
  13. Debbie, I think you know us well don't you! Congrats on your new Tag and from the pictures you shared he/she is an adorable baby grey and yes we have a nursery room and someone is usually on here all the time to give you some help if you need it, all you have to do is ask.
  14. No she doesn't hate you, she might be a little tiffed right now but she will be back to her old self soon, just behave around her like you always have, these greys sure can try our patience can't they, hang in there Susan and Chloe will get over it.
  15. Susan, I would just let Chloe take care of that feather herself, Josey occasionally has a flight feather out of place and she will get rid of it by herself, the only time I would attempt to help her with a feather is if it is bleeding. I know she is squawking about it because it is irritating her but she will finally take care of it.
  16. I am so glad to hear it and I hope it continues to look good for you for a long, long time, thanks for letting us know.
  17. It looks out of place is all, this sometimes happens when they play and he will take care of it himself just give him time. Have you actually seen him chew or pluck his tail feathers? He might be going thru a molt right now but keep a close eye out and don't worry too much about it for if you stress out about it then so will he.
  18. OMG, PMSL, ROFLMAO, you really can come up with some good ones Bernie, I got to hand it to you, you got guts, I hope you get a lot of takers, lord only knows they need it. :woohoo:  :pinch:
  19. My grey, Josey, is the biggest parrot I have ever owned and I also have a sun conure named Sunny. I know you are going to enjoy Pinky and I look forward to hearing how he settles into his new home.
  20. Oh he is a right fine looking grey, now is this your first parrot ever?
  21. Hello Roland and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Pinky. If the new cage is bigger then by all means move him to the new cage, he will appreciate the extra room. He must be a timid grey if he was picked on by his siblings and he is not alone in not fitting in with other birds as a lot of greys do not get along with other species even their own species sometimes. You will find a lot of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I look forward to seeing some pictures of Pinky when you can manage to post them.
  22. Thats a good choice for a first word, "hello" congrats on the first word as it is always special, now you will be hearing a lot more now that he has found his voice, next you will be asking how to shut him up:laugh:
  23. Oh boy, Chocolate Day, I must celebrate that, I can't let this day go by and not eat some chocolate, I think it should be Chocolate Day every day, what do you think?
  24. I really don't know much about tiels so I have no idea whether it is a female or male, maybe some of the other members will have an idea.
  25. Cute, a little fuzzy looking but cute, thanks for sharing it with us.
