1. I made a pvc playstand for Josey but she does not like it, I think it is the vet wrap I put around it for sure footing, she does not like the feel of it, maybe I will wrap it with some rope.
2. It could have been just a feather out of place and she took care of it or she could have done it because she was mad at you, its hard to tell which but in any case don't panic over it. When she bites tell her no and turn your back on her and walk away for a few minutes, they do not like being ignored but don't react if she rips off another feather because your reaction could be interpreted as encouragement to continue.
3. I haven't really noticed Josey doing that but Sunny my conure does that sometimes, it sounds like she is blowing air thru her nares and she does it when she is on my shoulder but then again when is she not on my shoulder when she is out of her cage. Josey does not spend that much time on my shoulder so she may do it too and I just haven't noticed.
4. Amen Dave and I include a link to a thread Jamal started about 3 months ago on the very same subject: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-grey-lounge/132591-parrotz-in-the-lab.html#132591
5. What a "cheeky" little fella, he is so cute sitting there, wonder what is going thru his little walnut sized brain, probably thinking up some trouble, thanks Caroline for sharing a pic of him with us.
6. Upper 70's here might have hit 80 here today but right now it looks like rain, very cloudy but we need some rain, send some our way Caroline, quit hogging it all.
7. Ok the baby is home, now where are the pictures and we want to hear all about it:whistle:
8. It sounds like just another day in paradise with Rover, they can be bad little fids sometimes but we love them regardless. You are making progress so take your time and I think he has you wrapped around his little talon.
9. Who can blame the little guy for being nervous, wouldn't you be in the same situation? Glad to hear Benji passed with flying colors but of course you already knew he was just fine but it always feels good to hear it from someone who knows.
10. I am sorry about your loss, I think everyone here can understand how you must feel and our pets can be of great comfort to us when we need it.

They will pick anything up from anywhere, birds they hear outside, trucks backing up, dripping faucet, you name it they can mimic it.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2009/07/15 16:21
12. Oh my, I am sorry to hear Will is under the weather but hope she gets well soon and be back home with you. Don't blame the pet shop because they only sell the products, it is up to you to make sure she gets a healthy balanced diet, take a stroll thru the bird food room for ideas and suggestions for what she should be eating. Please do keep us informed and congrats on having a girl.

I think Josey picked up the laugh from Spongebob Squarepant's character from the cartoon of the same name when the grandchildren were there but she hasn't done it lately since it has been a while since the kids have watched it but it was something else to hear.
14. Hello Yoyo and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Yoyo. That sounds about right that it took several months for Yoyo to settle into his new home and be himself, it usually takes a little longer for an older grey than it does for a young one. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Yoyo you would share with us we would appreciate it.
15. Thats a funny story about Voodoo's name and will remind you every time you say his name, he is a cute little bugger and that is a great shot of him looking like he is ready to take a bite out of the camera.
16. Hello Amy and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Poppet. Thats a cute name for a grey and I bet you have a cute grey to match the name, would love to see a pic of him if you have some pictures you would share with us. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can.
17. Glad to hear that it went well for Murphy but no more pens please. B)
18. If he is eating, drinking, playing and otherwise acting normal then he is fine, my grey will fluff up her feathers then smooth them down, they all do it, now if he keeps them fluffed then you may have a problem.
19. She is a beautiful bird, I love those pineapples, my sun will lay on her back also, they can be such clowns, thanks for sharing the pics with us, now what is her name?
20. Don't panic, he is probably just fine, but if he seems like he may fall then you can put some towels down to soften a fall until he gets sure footed but if he is flying and climbing a lot then he is probably more confident than some are.
21. Oh those are beautiful birds, you will have to share a picture of her, we have an other birds room where you can put it. I liked the sun because they are so bright colored and she is a delight to have. I'm glad you saved that little bird, that was cruel of them to treat her that way, you came along at the right time.
22. What kind of conure do you have? I have a sun conure, she was my first parrot and she is a shoulder ornament, wants to ride around all day long.
23. Yeah I am with Shelia on this, maybe this female is the one for you and she might just like being on vacation with you, let us know what you end up doing.
24. They are both good products but Josey only gets Harrison's High Potency fine and she eats it no problem.
