You know I just read an article in our newspaper about a new airline that flys only pets, I forget the name of the new airline as the paper is at home and I am at work. It only flies to some of the big cities but they have outfitted the inside cabin to house pets and they pamper them before, during and after they land.

As long as you don't put too much, just a quarter teaspoon, you can use it about every day or every other day, I put Josey's in oatmeal but you can drizzle a little over her other foods.

Hello Robin and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your future grey. This forum has about all the information you will need to know to get started on a lifetime living with a grey in the house and we have many knowledgeable members who are willing to share what they know with the rest of us. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I am not sure about your hubby making a stainless steel cage, it would probably be just as cheap or maybe cheaper to just buy one ready made, they come in such different styles and colors, just make sure it is big enough so they can flap their wings inside and not touch the sides. Many members have dogs and cats that share the houshold, you just have to supervise any out of cage time when the other animals are around but some of them do get along pretty well with their birds. I am glad to hear you are making a full committment to this grey, many people think that once a human baby is introduced then it is time for the parrot to go. The important thing is to not spend any more time now with your bird, that is after you get it, than you think you will spend after a baby comes so there is not a loss of attention to the parrot but many greys are in homes with children and they co-exist nicely.

Congrats and now you won't be able to sleep, the anticipation will be too greyt, this will be a special moment when you bring that baby home, make sure you are ready for it.

Congrats on Rudy being a girl!

Vet wrap is a tape that trainers use on horses, it adheres to itself and stretches and it comes in different colors, google it and you will find some places you can order it online, here is one: http://pet-supplies.drsfostersmith.com/petsupplies/Vet%20Wrap

That was a really sweet poem you wrote for Caroline, I know it helped to lift her spirits, you do have quite a talent Dave.
-
Caroline this is the best news, I know how hard it was for you to make the decision to rehome Jasper but I am estatic to hear you are working on a solution to be able to keep him, I know you love him deeply. Your Dave deserves a pat on the back for his ideas on how to make this work and I hope it all comes together soon and I know Dave007 will be glad to help you with any issues you may have, he has helped you before and he will again, all you have to do is ask.

You want to see some pretty poop, feed them some fresh beets, wow the poop will be purple and pink, lovely colors, Josey loves beets!:whistle: :laugh: {Feel-good-0002006E}

Sometimes you love them enough to give them up when you realize it is not working out with the other two you have and they were there first so they have to come before Jasper's welfare. Don't beat yourself up, I know you did the best you could but you cannot help if their personalities clash and that makes it difficult or impossible for you to cope. You are not admitting defeat, you are looking out for Jasper's best interest and of course of Charlie and Keeko, you will find Jasper a new home where he may just flourish and be more at ease and that will be for the best.

What a great moment in history and I remember watching it on tv with Walter Cronkite, he was pleased as punch about it and it did happen.

Hello Fendana and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your little baby Cag. So I assume this is your first grey, then you are in for a treat for once you have one you find out how wonderful they are and cannot imagine how life would be without them. Is your baby close enough so you can visit as that will help the little fella to be more comfortable with you and you could get some pictures too so you can share some with us. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do take some time to read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. He will need some time to settle in when you first get him home so it might take a few days or weeks before his true personality comes out. Since he is a baby I would put some towels or blankets down to cushion any falls and leave his perches down lower until he gets more confidence in perching.

It looks very nice, what a bright spot to be and great for playing your guitars and I bet you play them well.

Ben looks to be enjoying her new home even if it is inside, what a lovely room that is, a conservatory perhaps, nice, very nice thanks for sharing those pics with us.
-
Thats a really cute toy, I have found that Josey likes those white balls too especially ones that have something in them, she promptly chews them apart, thanks for sharing a couple of pics of Ecko's new toy.

Hello Morgan and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing lots more about you and Maggie. Usually the baby greys take to change and new toys easier than an older bird, Josey used to jump right on a new toy but now it has to be slowly introduced so be prepared for that. Thats nice you were able to take Maggie with you on vacation, of course it depends on where you go but a lot of us have to leave our fids behind when we vacation, I am sure she is enjoying being with you. Please continue to read thru our many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can. I look forward to seeing some pictures of Maggie when you get the chance, if you hadn't already noticed we love pics here.

Do your pets have a Facebook or MySpace page?

I guess he thought we women didn't keep up with the times but we do, we will not go away quietly in the night, we will be heard, loud and clear and so....... THE HUNT BEGINS:evil:   :woohoo: -
Josey as most greys probably are likes having her beak rubbed with my fingers, they must have sensitive beaks. Thats interesting that they would maybe be marking their territory with beak rubbing, I had not heard that one.

Hello Hollysflock and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Holly. That was so wonderful that you were able to rehome Holly and she is turning out to be such a delight to have, birds that have already been in several homes sometimes come with unwanted baggage but she seems to be adjusting very well. Expect to see some more of her personality to come out in the next weeks and months as she settles in and feels more comfortable, this is still the honeymoon phase right now but you seem to be doing the right things and I can imagine it will continue to go smoothly. I am glad to hear you found lots of useful information in our many threads as there is not too many subjects we haven't covered, most any question has been asked and knowledgeable members have chipped in to give what they know and if we don't know the answer then we refer you to your avian vet. I did enjoy the videos of Holly, thanks for sharing them with us but I noticed that the bark was still on the branches, that should have been removed before using it for playstands. You will find some threads in the toys and playstands room that instruct you in how to remove the bark and make the wood safe for our fids. Welcome to greyt ownership.
