What a clever idea Robin and glad to hear it works most of the time and like you I mostly confine Josey's sitting on my shoulder when I am sitting down and not moving around.
That is wise to not allow Paul to have them on his shoulder since he moves so fast, you are one wise mom, maybe when he gets a little older and wiser he can.
See we told you not to worry about it and everything was fine, a little time away is good for both of you.
Glad you had a good time and now you won't worry when vacation time comes again to leave Harvey and you get a bonus when you get back, a happy to see you grey.
That figures Bonnie, of course they don't want pictures taken for they know they have something to hide.
Have you been in touch with the local police to see if they know who you could contact to get something done?
I know you will get these people to clean up their act so keep us informed.
Take a video next time Char then we all can get a laugh out of that, how clever of you to teach her that, LMAO and wondering what you will teach her next.
Congrats on getting your rescue Cory and glad to hear he took to you so well but be prepared for little changes in the coming weeks and months as he settles in and more of his personality comes out, you are in the honeymoon phase right now. Not trying to scare you or anything but older greys will take a little time to become comfortable and "let their hair down" so to speak.
Thats unfortunate he has a bad foot, hopefully the vet will be able to do something for it but you are doing the right thing to take him in for a checkup.
Don't be too hard on the rescue you got him from, you would probably be surprised how many they get and even though some of them might have physical problems their funds are lacking since most run on donations, I'm sure they did the best they could.
I will comment on your thread but I can't comment on the change in amounts of poop. Josey is on Harrisons but since she has always had them from the time I brought her home I wouldn't know, I guess some of the other members who have switched from something else to Harrisons can give you some answers.
Hello Zara and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you.
Now I am going to turn the tables on you, you hope to learn a lot well we want to learn some more about you to get started. Most new members usually give us some info like if they have a grey or not, if they do the bird's name, age and a little more about them.
If you use our site then you will learn loads of useful information for we have lots here and knowledgeable members who are willing to help you with any problem, all you have to do is ask and we will help you in any way we can.
And Dan only wishes he was held in such high esteem by Dayo but they pick their favorites and we certainly know who Dayo picked, you are one lucky woman Kim.
Well I guess we know what kind of words is spoken in your household, shame on you Dan and don't blame it on Kim and never the grandkids! :silly:
Hot and humid here in Virginia with maybe a chance of thunderstorms, need the rain but not like the one we had a few days ago, it put our corn on the ground, the wind just pushed it over, just one patch of it though, another patch was still standing tall and straight, go figure.
Poor thing, a sore throat, no wonder he was screeching and I hope it gets cleared up real quickly and maybe the feather plucking will cease too, keep us informed.
We have heard this before but it is still disgusting to hear, there are many reputable pet stores that sell birds and they take care of them properly but there are others where they just don't give a rat's patootie about the birds welfare, they are only concerned about the almighty dollar. I am so sorry that you found one of them Bonnie and I can imagine it made you sick to your stomach to see the condition under which these birds are kept, no wonder it made you so mad, I would have been also.
I am not exactly sure who you would report this to but if you check around I am sure you will find out and hopefully this place will either have to clean up their act or get out of business.
Good luck to you Bonnie and please let us know what you find out.
Chris by all means get you a sun conure, I have one and I love her to bits, yes she can scream but she doesn't do that all day, just at times otherwise she is very quiet. Suns can be quite a clown when they want to be and she stays on my shoulder or hangs off my shirt and sometimes sits on my knee when I am on the computer like right now.
They are very brightly colored but all that yellow and orange doesn't come out until after they go thru a molt or two.
I personally wouldn't buy the CD as I have never thought I wanted to do that for Josey, she picks up words and phrases she hears from my hubby and I and that is just fine with me.
Char is correct, we do have bacteria in our mouths that they can't handle so cleaning your teeth and playing with your tongue are off limits for Monty.
Oh yes Erika things will get better real soon, just hang in there and you will soon get your sweet Bonkers back, this has been a learning experience for you and a lesson for us all, who knows who will be next on the "beat up" list.
