  1. Those sure are some good looking amazons, you do lead an unusual life with never a dull moment, thanks for sharing these lovely birds with us.
  2. One week is not long enough you need to give her more time, she probably will never feel for you like she does your husband but you can still have a good relationship. Others will chip in with their ideas and suggestions.
  3. Sadly greys do tend to pick favorites but how long have you had this grey?
  4. "Men are always happy" its because they don't know any better. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  5. That sounds like a plan Jane, thanks for sharing that with us. Josey used to eat off my plate but table manners were lacking, nothing like a bird foot right into the middle of your plate and she would get into something she wasn't supposed to have so now she eats on a perch from her own bowl.

Now for the egg, if she has an egg inside her she will lay it, she won't keep it inside unless she is bound up and you will know something is wrong if that happens but don't worry about it now as it may never happen. Some birds will lay an egg even if they don't have a nest.
  7. That sounds like a great idea though not totally like having a real dog but it would help Jacko get at least tolerant of it for if you are going to have to get a service dog eventually then they will have to learn to co-exist and you need to start now.
  8. Bernie I just had to comment on your little emoticons, some of them are the cutest things, love the one on the soapbox, its fun just looking at your posts never mind what you wrote. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  9. Yeah I bet that was a little sore wasn't it, my tats are on my leg so no problem there, of course one of them was there long before Josey came along but the other was after. Are you gonna show us your tattoo?
  10. I have a dna'd female but she is only 3 years old so I have no experience with any egg laying but others here have been thru it before. It is something you want to discourage if possible as it does take some of their energy and nutrients to lay and of course there is always the possibility of egg binding. I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Maybe some of the members who have experience will share what they know but I know if they do start laying eggs you will have to provide more calcium for them. It will be interesting to find out if Ecko is a boy or not, let us know as soon as you find out.
  11. OMG here we go again with the non believers! {Emotions-0002011C}
  12. I just bet you will be on your best behavior, you never know it may be the best thing to happen to you since you came to live with Jay and Maggie, can't wait to see pictures when he gets there, in the meantime why don't you think up a good name for him.:whistle:
  13. Well it looks like rain here today, very cloudy and the sky looks threatening but we could use it, very warm though, will get in the upper 80's today.
  14. Not one grey hair Caroline and only your hairdresser will know for sure:lol: :side: Yep, just another day in paradise, looking forward to the weekend but then I always look to the weekend, nothing special planned just hanging out with Josey and Sunny.
  15. You have to realize that Abula is only 14 years old, that explains a lot. Its not huring her feelings but you don't want her wasting her energy trying to build a nest for chicks she is never going to have and like Pat says the very act of egg laying takes a lot out of them, you want to avoid that if at all possible. I love the innocence of some of your posts, no one else but a youngster would ask some of those questions but I enjoy answering them and I think a lot of others do too so ask anything you want.
  16. No you won't, it will be like waiting for Christmas morning but try to get some sleep for you have a big day ahead of you.
  17. Thats very nice but too rich for my blood, for what it is it's way overpriced.
  18. You really don't need a sleep cage, I don't use one for Josey or Sunny, they sleep in their big cage and always have unless they are away from home then they sleep in their travel cage.
  19. Yes they do sense our feelings and moods and react to it, he could tell you were sad and he did his best to help you feel better, don't you just love him for that. I hope your nan get to feeling better real soon.
  20. That was so sweet, it brought a tear to my eye, you have said that so eloquently and thanks for sharing that with us, you are both so blessed to have one another.
  21. So tomorrow is the big day, congrats Julia, anxious to hear all about the big homecoming.
  22. Great pics of Koko, you did an excellent job on getting clear shots of his head and the eyes are very in focus, thanks for sharing them with us.
  23. Thats what you have to do if you want him to remain on the perch and it will have to be repeated hundreds maybe thousands of times before he learns it. I feed Josey and Sunny on perches in the kitchen while I eat dinner, they usually have some of what I am eating but Benji thinks you are having something he isn't so thats why he comes over to snatch.
