Well Lindsey, let me get this straight, a kid ran at you full speed, threw the bag of food he was carrying into your lap where you were holding Harley and he growled and screamed? You dang skippy he did, who wouldn't, most greys do not like small children for this very reason, they are too quick moving and loud. I don't think Harley will be traumatized for life but he will certainly remember that particular kid for a while if he sees him again. I think he will be fine Lindsey, that would have scared most people much less a grey baby, Harley was just reacting to the situation.

Everyone talks about the "terrible twos" but I must have missed it in Josey, I have not noticed any unusual behavior and she is over 3 years old now, maybe she is a late bloomer you think!:whistle:

That was a close call, glad to hear Chris was able to remove it before it caused further damage as you never want your bird to require surgery. Poor Indy must have been so stressed out but hopefully he will be just fine. Keep us informed ok.

They must be Pat, the little rug rats, I love these pictures, those of Rikki who is a good looking grey and those of Ecko, also a good looking grey getting onto the highest point they can find. That would make a good video, one of them going around on the ceiling fan, anyone game?

I haven't given Josey the priviledge of enjoying a pomegranate yet, guess I am too chicken to try it, who wants a bloody mess to have to clean up, maybe I can try it in the shower.:whistle: :laugh:

Carol, I don't see any pictures on the 2nd and 3rd link and you don't see much on the first one, mostly a macaw, would love to see this new playstand.

Just my opinion Valerie but I like the second one best, the first one looks like it is all legs.

We had another thunderstorm last night and it poured rain, more rain than we are used to having in the summer, usually it is so dry the garden just withers away but not this year. Today the sun has been in and out and chance of more storms and not too hot but humid.

I have started putting ice cubes in both Josey and Sunny's water bowls, they both love drinking cold water.

George will be just fine Marie, I have gone on vacation before and left Josey and she was just fine and glad to see me when I got home, so quit worrying so much and enjoy yourself.

I'll add my two cents worth, I can't wait for you to get your grey also, everyone here is so excited for you and I hope it all comes off without a hitch, just waiting for pics.

Me too, I would have almost paid to see that, better get that camera fixed so we can see. :cheer:

Julie I don't know a lot about conures except for the one I have which is a sun conure and yes she can be loud sometimes but it doesn't bother me at all. They are known for being screamers but she only does that at times but she is a delight to have. Sunny is my first parrot, she is what wheted my appetite for a bigger bird hence I got my grey Josey. Sunny is about 4 1/2 years old and is a shoulder ornament meaning she likes nothing better than to be on me when she is out of her cage which is most of the time when I am home. I feed her pretty much what I feed my grey, just smaller amounts since she is a smaller bird, I don't know about a hahn's macaw being about the same size as I am not familiar with them. As far as telling a young one, with suns if they do not have a lot of yellow and orange then they are young, they have a lot of green that molts out with the first one or two and they become a bright yellow and orange, I don't know about the green conure. You will have to look it up, goggle it and find out. But as far as being noisy or screaming, what one person thinks is loud another person might not but maybe the green ones are quieter.

Hello Katana and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Juno. Never say never on that Alaskan cruise as you never know what the future holds for you and what may come. That is so wonderful what you did for Java, that was just what she needed, some love and attention, I can imagine that Juno will be so loved and spoiled rotten. I wholeheartedly agree, you should read thru the many threads here for loads of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have any of Juno yet that you would share with us we would appreciate it and you can share some of Java in the other birds room.
