I can hear it now, the gate post moved, happens every time didn't you know!!!:pinch:

I am one of those members who has a grey that has never bitten me, she is a sweetheart and she has other ways of telling me she doesn't like something. So far she has never refused to go back inside her cage when I have attempted to put her there, for one thing I have never given her the chance to refuse. I do count myself very lucky to have a grey that does not feel she has to resort to biting me to let me know what she wants or doesn't want but I also know that could end at any time but I'm hoping for the best while prepared for the worst.

Joe has had a moderate clip that limits his ability to gain height but still fly and not drop like a rock, thats good unless you don't want him flying at all then more will have to be clipped off. As far as him flying to you when you don't want him to is you will just have to keep taking him back to his perch or wherever you want him to stay, this will have to be repeated as often as necessary, maybe hundreds or thousands of times but he will eventually learn he is to stay where you put him. Just because he wants to be held and cuddled all the time doesn't mean he should have it.

Dave I think she is talking about dried fruits and nuts you can buy in a bag already mixed up, might contain papaya, pineapple, raisins, peanuts, pecans, almonds and such, I have purchased similar ones for my birds.

Wow, now that is convenient, lucky you, oh and I will be right over. See you all tomorrow, in the meantime stay sober!!

How is she nagging you? They are just like children, they are gonna throw a tantrum to get what they want, plain and simple don't give in to her whims. Since that is all she seems to want to eat continue to give her some but give her more healthy foods and gradually over time reduce the amount of seeds you give her. She won't starve herself but you are going to have to ignore her "nagging":pinch:

My parrot bites always but now worser then ever

That gold cage is not big enough for a grey, even if he doesn't spend a lot of time in it he needs a bigger one. -
Some of them are pretty but I wish they would just leave them alone and quit trying to make different colors and combinations, nature did a very good job and we should leave it at that.

What are you all talking about, Josey never did really have the "terrible twos" stage, she has been pretty consistent thru out her 3+ years. Almost forgot she did get a little hyper over a ball toy on the bed the other night and nipped my toe, I think she thought I was going to take her ball away, I did for she was trying to gurge for it, no no that ain't happening, not on my bed:sick:

Do you weigh him at the same time of day each time? Is he flighted? If he is doing a lot of flying then he is going to lose a little weight but that much is not enough to be concerned about. What you need to do is weight him every day for a while to get his average weight, then you can do it every week or so to keep a check on it.

Rescue is great but not everyone can handle those birds as some are abused in one way or another and some of them will never trust another human being. If you have never had parrots before I would not recommend you take that route but there are some that end up in rescues because the owner passed away and there is no family member willing to take the bird or birds. You can always check into local bird rescues for what they have available. Do not mistake that only stressed out rescued birds pluck, we have members here that have greys who pluck and they are loved by their owners, some greys are just prone to pluck and there is not much you can do about it.

I have never had a speeding ticket, guess I have either been very lucky or very smart to not get caught:blush:

See I told you they are clever, no phone, mission to Cameroon, BS for sure. Dave is right about looking for greys thru private breeders, you are more likely to get a healthy and well socialized bird that way.
-
Piece of cake, see how easy it was and glad to hear they love their new home.

The internet is full of such scams and they can be very clever in separating you from your money, not to say that the offer of free birds is too good to be true but it usually is. You can reply back and see what comes about but I can almost bet my life that it is a scam. The offer could be genuine but odds are it is a scam.

Hello Bphillips and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and BB. What you are describing is perfectly normal behavior. She loves you, thats why she is reguritating for you, its a high honor, the nicest compliment from a grey but accept her gifts and try to distract her to something else. Some people view this as disgusting but it is the way they show affection for their mate in their natural habitat. You really do need to read thru the many threads here for lots of useful information, it will answer some of the obvious questions you will have and we will help you in any way we can. She sounds like a normal grey but if she has not been seen by an avian vet in the last year or so I would schedule one for her. We love pictures here so if you have some of BB you would share with us we would appreciate it.

Dayo - Glimpse into a 2yr 4mo old cuddle muffin

Don't be afraid Cassandra, not all greys are so terrible when they are two, Josey is over 3 years old now and she never went thru a period where she was so bad, she is pretty sweet all the time. I hope Kim finds work soon Dan but the competition is stiff out there, lots of people need work and not enough jobs to employ them all but she is a smart woman, she will land one real soon. -
Harvey looks to be saying "What took you so long woman" Thanks for sharing the picture of Harvey in his harness, he's ready to roll.
-
Oh yeah that stand looks and will be much better than that piece of crap they gave you and great pictures of your toy, thanks for sharing them with us, now get busy and fix it please.B)
-
Glad to hear you are doing ok except for not having a job, you join so many others in the same boat but I wish you luck in finding one real soon. Wow, you might be getting another grey, three will be a handful but if you can handle two then three shouldn't be any problem, do let us know if you do get this other grey. Sometimes it just takes someone who knows what they are doing or how to handle them and other people just can't understand how you did that but good luck.

I am so sorry for your loss Caitlin, and a horrendous one at that, at least you were spared the sight of it. Some people do not have any regard for the life of animals and/or pets but they will get their just rewards one day.
-
You are lucky Jill, lets hope he is not a greyforums fan and sees your thread, been there and done that.

I bet Gonzo is not the only one that is proud, I bet you are too Dave, I have my fingers crossed that it and maybe some more will hatch, thanks for sharing the picture with us.
