  1. Yes I noticed the missing feathers in the first picture and maybe she will be replacing them soon when its their time but it doesn't hinder her flying any. BTW, great picture of her again.
  2. They are growing so fast but then thats the way they are, grow up too fast but gorgeous they arew. Poor Camilla, there is no rest for the weary, she should take a break.
  3. Yes it should have had a hatch certificate especially if he had a ring on his leg. The cage would be lots better and when he is out on his stand put some newspapers down to catch the mess. Birds don't eat meals as such, they tend to forage during the day so food should be available at all times to eat, especially pellets.
  4. I think Ben is thinking, "what is that bloke doing laying there on the floor with that shiny thing in his hands that I want to get my beak on and break up into little pieces, heh heh heh" Ben is lovely Bernie thanks for sharing some pictures of her with us. B)
  5. No question is silly and yes you do have to be careful with greys and reptiles, you are doing the right thing in being careful to wash your hands thoroughly before handling your grey. Everyone is cautioned about handling raw meat and the surfaces it touches anymore, be sure to wash with soap and water to eliminate the risk.
  6. Hello Ayaat and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Rocky. The eyes are black or very dark as babies but then they lighten up, yours is probably about 4 months old, an avian vet could better determine your grey's age. Do you mean you leave his cage door open all the time? I cage my grey at night and whenever I am not at home or otherwise occupied that I cannot keep an eye on her, thats for her own safety. He should be getting a varied diet with lots of vegetables and not too many fruits as they contain more sugar, you will find some threads in the bird food room that will give you an idea of what he should be eating. He has not had enough time to settle in yet so maybe he doesn't want you to hold him, he needs time to feel comfortable and safe in his new home, remember it is all new to him at this point. Take it easy and let him decide when he is ready for interaction. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Rocky you would share with us we would love to see him.
  7. Hello Casey and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Mikey. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us, you must know already that we love looking at greys here especially the babies and yours is adorable no doubt. It sounds like you have just about all the bases covered for when he comes home, you have been doing your research and I commend you for that. Its natural for you to be a little nervous but that will subside soon after you get Mikey home and settled in, just enjoy him. Yes it is natural for them to look a little messy especially if they have clutch mates but he doesn't look too messy to me. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help0 you in any way we can.
  8. Get us a picture too if you can and share it with us.
  9. Thats great to hear that Baby decided to take a bath and you did the right thing in taking that opportunity to give an aloe misting, bet he felt better afterward. You can take him with you when you shower and just let him sit on the shower rod to see if he wants to join you, at least he can be getting used to being there.
  10. Congrats on your new granddaughter Lyla Grace, what a lovely name and a good sized one at that, know you can't wait to give her lots of hugs and kisses, no life doesn't get much better than that, enjoy her.
  11. Thats great that she is stepping up some for you, keep at it so she will know what you mean. As far as biting you when petting her sometimes they don't like it at certain places and she might just be telling you she doesn't like it there and she could be molting, those pins can be very sensitive to touch.
  12. Thats so nice that she has settled down now and stopped the disruptive behavior, she just needed some time to adjust to the new addition to the flock. A picture of you on the couch with all them would be worth a thousand words, how about it Penny, get Melissa to take a picture and share with us, how about it, hmm.
  13. Nice doggy Jill even if it isn't yours and you do take good pictures Lyn, love that pose, thanks for sharing them with us.
  14. I agree, I think they know and that is so sweet and especially the way he said it, no sweeter words were ever heard, thanks for sharing that with us.
  15. Only to Jill:laugh: :lol: :woohoo: Thanks for the laugh Jill! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  16. Congrats on Shanti being able to take flight and Dan is right, they will bump into things learning but at least he is trying to fly. Thats an excellent idea to letting him fly to you to learn, its better than him going into the walls and furniture. You can also purchase window clings to help him learn he can't fly thru them.
  17. Josey would almost turn over backwards for some cheddar cheese but only in moderation, she likes apple, carrots, beets and sweet potatoes.
  18. Well I loved the ferrel child turned computer princess story, I mean who wouldn't but let Dan the man come along and give us the blunt facts bursting our bubble that Dave created, who wants the truth, I love a good fairy tale story, thanks Dan!
  19. I think you are right to not go and check on him every time he does this, it could turn into a fun thing to do for him but as long as he is fine otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. Just when you thought everything was fine and dandy one of them comes along with something else for us to muddle about, they do keep us on our toes.
  20. Ha ha, you may have more of a problem of keeping him from overloading it, looks like he likes that stuff the way he is eating it from the spoon, what a character, thanks for sharing that with us Jill.:cheer:
  21. I NEED one right now badly but have to wait for the girls to be picked up, what a day!!
  22. Confessions are good but you did what you did out of love for your pet, any one of us would have done the same, I bet he wouldn't have let his dog come that close if Paco was a cat instead, good job.
  23. That is the exact product and you can use it full strength from the bottle. Red palm oil is beneficial to their diet, it is something they would have in their natural habitat, you can find it at www.swansonsvitamins.com
  24. Thats great news Cassandra, glad you are feeling better and are able to spend time with Darwin again, I bet she really is all over you and who could blame her.
  25. I am adding it to my list of must haves, thanks for letting us know about it Cassandra, karma for you.
